Chapter 12

Voices, muffled voices were the things I first heard as I awoke from my slumber. It felt as though I were underwater, attempting to listen to the voices above water through the vibrations hitting the water. There was a soft sound growing louder with each passing moment, the tremors coming from the ground. Amaimon. I thought immediately and opened my eyes to see the entire Vatican upon a large bench above me. My eyes ignore them for now as I search for the one Amaimon is after and land on a crystallized Rin. Unkempt fury burned from seeing him inside a cage, my eyes narrowing dangerously at the logical people who would trap the Son of Satan.

“This is a dangerous game you are all playing.” I growled out as my crystal shattered, releasing me from the prison. “Father Shiro and my Dad protected us from you believing that we could one day bridge the gap of Gehenna and Assiah; but seeing this would cause them both to roll in their graves.” I stated as my tri-colored flames erupted from my form, a smirk adorning my lips as I glare at the people on the bench.

“Kana, this is not the place to do this.” Mephisto growled at me, his eyes glaring down at me menacingly as though he wished to kill me.

“Yet you called upon Amaimon to do your dirty work. Tell me Mephisto, you intended for Rin to use his abilities to destroy Amaimon in an attempt to appease our fathers’ wishes, right?” I asked as I looked lazily into his eyes, determined to get the satisfaction of his answer. “I cannot interfere with that plan; however Satan is not going to be happy with you. This was not part of his deal and a part of Rin’s training.” I warned as I sat back, watching as the soft sound of thunderous paws hitting the ground was heard outside of the hall. Snapping my fingers, I shattered the crystal surrounding Rin and opened the door for Amaimon, watching as Yukio and the others ran to give Rin his sword.

“Rin, come see me when you are done with this.” I said as I walked out casually, feeling the glares and hatred pouring off of the Vatican as I waltzed out of the room as though I owned the place. As I neared the threshold, I felt two things rushing towards me at a high rate of speed. Quickly dodging both I turn around to see one of the men on the bench holding a gun, still poised as though he took a perfect shot to my back while the other was Angel and his broadsword.

“You will need a lot more power in order for me to be taken down. Mephisto got lucky, but full blooded humans will not be able to attack me so easily.” I stated with a grin, waving my hand as I left, shocking everyone in the room to the point that they all stood still.

Stretching out lazily, I yawn aloud as I stared up at the blue sky. The clouds rolling past as time seemed to stretch for an eternity. Closing my eyes, I smile gently, remembering the soft memories of dad and me lying on the green grass to stare up into the clouds and relax as a way to get away from the world. Claire would be there as well, all of us peacefully laying in the shade of a large tree while looking up at the sky, sometimes napping while others we would watch the white fluffy clouds roll on by.

“I remember the days that we used to do this together with Dad.” A soft voice said, causing my eyes to fly open, looking for the one who spoke.

“Claire. We did have some pretty good memories with him.” I said softly as I relaxed a bit, closing my eyes once more.

“That we did, Kana. He made sure that all of our memories would be good ones, and if there were a bad memory, he would take us out for ice cream.” She said as she sat down on the grass beside me. “We used to be really close. Now we are distant from one another.” She said as she continued to look into the sky.

“That would be because you spent the entirety of our childhood with Shiro bullying me as school. You blamed me for dad’s death. You hated me, so what made you change your mind?” I asked as I looked at my twin sister, her chocolate brown hair softly swaying in the gentle breeze. Her green eyes looked to my blue ones, searching for something.

“I did blame you, but I never stopped loving you as my sister. The night that Father Shiro died and you disappeared was all too much. I was a wreck and I could not believe you were gone so suddenly. Therefore, the day you came back, cold hearted and less like the sister, I used to know I was shocked. I couldn’t believe that you were so close, yet so far away.” She said as she had tears starting to fall.

“You are probably thinking that I am back to being my old self, right? Well, sorry to disappoint, but I have changed. Learning how to fight against the Demon Kings and control this urge to become full demon is very draining. No matter what, I will never be the same.” I say as I get up, walking over to the dormitory, needing to find solace in my music.

Once reaching my room, I shut the door and went onto YouTube to search for the song called So Long Sentiment, and began to feel a numbing sensation in my mind. Music does some powerful things when needed. Soon enough I began singing along with the song, happy for a distraction from darker thoughts as I began to feel alone. A soft knock sounded on my door, causing me to glare at it for a bit before walking over to the door and opening it. Blue and red hair was the only thing I saw before my door slammed shut and I am suddenly dragged onto my bed.

“Kana! Father has been worried about you and wants you to return as soon as possible.” Ilbis said quickly, a soft caring look on his face, as his eyes were light up with worry.

“Please come with us.” Egyn said softly, his own face was showing signs of worry.

“What’s going on? I thought I was supposed to train Rin.” I said as they tried to bring me out into the hallway so they could open a gate.

“Father’s mission still stands, but it will take some time for him to understand what you meant by controlling his emotions and using them to his advantage.” A voice softly said behind me, causing my head to crane up.

“Azazel, you came as well?” I questioned as he gave me a look that said ‘really?’ causing me to smile softly. “Of course you would come, you have to look after these two, and because you were the first one to come into my room when I was in Gehenna.” I smiled out as I looked at my friends, the ones who understand the feelings I had. “Alright, I will come back; just let me write a note this time.” I said as I began writing out to Rin, Yukio, Claire, and Mephisto.

“Done, let’s go.” I said as I set the four letters on the table with their names elegantly written on each envelope, closing my door and following the three males outside into the gates of Gehenna.

The feeling of the portal itself was weird, usually it would feel like air sucking one way or another, but this time it felt like I was floating, deciding on where to go on my own merits. A small grin formed its way onto my face as I look to the three Demon Kings before rocketing past them.

“Race ya!” I shouted as I continued to move faster, hearing one curse word and a couple of chuckles let me know they were game for a race back to the Palace of Gehenna.

Jumping out of the portal, I whooped and hollered, as I felt slightly freer than I did last time I was here. My demon form was surfacing slightly, my tails unraveling from their hiding place inside my shirt as my fangs lengthened.

“I win!” I shouted out as I grin, happiness swirling in my being as I look at the Palace.

“Damn it! I was so close!” Ilbis shouted out in defeat. “I demand a rematch!” He shouted out, pointing his finger at me with fire burning around him, as he got riled up.

“Relax fire-brain; you can race her again when we report back in with Father.” Egyn said as his soft water like aura surrounding him.

“Come on Kana, Father is waiting for you.” Azazel said softly, surrounding him was black like flames, but more like spirits at the same time.

All of their states of mind changed once they came back to Gehenna, shocking me as I realized that they felt more at ease in this place because no one is judgmental or attempts to kill them because of the fear of their power. Rather, they want to kill the Kings because they want to become Kings themselves. My own mind relaxing as I follow Azazel to the chambers that Satan has been waiting for the arrival of one of his children.

“Princess Kana, welcome back.” He said in a large voice, obvious happiness, and elation from my return in his tone.

“Satan, why did you want me to return back so soon?” I asked as I sat down on a plush chair, watching him carefully.

“The Gregori have plans that I do not want you involved in. They will stop at nothing to have your pure bloodline for their nefarious plans.” He said with a growl, eyes blazing with the light blue flames he was known for.

“So that means that Rin, Yukio, and Claire are in danger of their plans as well. Why not keep me there when I am the strongest out of them all?” I said my anger at possibly losing the last remnants of my family sinks in. “Claire is my sister, and I cannot leave her to fend for herself. Why are you just laying in wait for this to happen?” I growled out, allowing my demonic form to melt away my humanity. “You have something to gain from this, don’t you?” I growled out as I narrowed my eyes at the blue-flamed demon king.

“Kana calm down your anger.” He boomed out, a slight fear flickering in his eyes as he saw the power increasing in my form.

“You are planning to resurface. You are going to ruin the balance between both worlds if you do this. The humans are not ready for your arrival and will not be for a long time. They must be accepting, just like my mother and Rin’s mother were. They fell in love with you as who you were, not for your power, but for what was inside of you as you showed them your true colors. You were patient as we grew inside of their wombs. You watched over us until Shiro and Hitori took us in and raised us as their own; you intervened when you thought that you could take us in and mould us to fit your idea of perfect hybrid children. They did not ask for children to look over, let alone the children of Satan, but they did their best and you took them away from us. Now you want to try and come into our lives in Assiah, and disrupt the easy going nature that we have established for now?” I asked through my growling, anger seeping through, as my horns grew larger, and my claws out and ready to fight.

“Kana! Do not talk to Lord Satan like that!” Shouted a normally quiet and reserved voice, causing my tri-colored eyes to lock on to Lucifer, my fangs set in a snarl.

“Do not speak to me like that, Demon King of Light. I am his biological child, and have the right to talk to him as I see fit. He deserves to be yelled at until he accepts that because of him choosing my mother, I have become far more powerful than him.” I growled out as I glared at the white haired demon, stalking out of the room as I try to regain my human form. “If you wish to fight me on this decision, you know where I will be.” I said as I shrunk, becoming my human self again.

I heard a loud thunderous howl escape from the room as I slammed the large doors closed, answering the howl with my own.

I am so sorry for the long wait for this chapter, I am also really sorry that this chapter is really short. I have lost all ideas about where I am taking this story and have to rewatch the anime series and see where I want the story to continue before writing something that I am not proud of and posting it up here. I am also writing a few other stories that I want to finish before posting it up as well, since I know I am not very good at updating daily. Sorry again, I hope that you enjoyed this chapter.
This chapter has not been edited, and I do not own any rights to any of the characters beside my own and the plot. I hope you all have a good night, morning, or day!!
