The girl with the fake smile

Once upon a time, there was a beautiful princess named Midnight, whose smile could make anyone else happy and feel joy.
However, there was just one problem: all of her smiles she made were fake. Deep inside her, she wanted to cry, to fall apart, to disappear.
'I bet no-one would miss me if I was dead. There would be no-one would come to my funereal,' she thought all the time. She was afraid that people would leave her.
But one day, a prince from a far away place would come to see the princess.
"I must, for I want to know why her smiles are so beautiful," the prince said to his knights.
As he got closer towards the castle, he sees why everyone smiled so brightly.
"Presenting: the Prince," one of the knights said, opening the carriage door. The prince got out, stretching his legs out, as he walked towards the castle.
"Lady Midnight, the prince is here," on of her knights said, gesturing her to the prince.
Midnight made sure that her black hair is straight, her tiara is not crooked, and her dress is perfect. When she finished, she made sure that her prize winning smile is on point.
'I do not want him to think that I am fake,' she thought, doing any last minute fixing that she could do. When she finished, she walked outside, smiling.
As soon as Midnight got to the garden, she saw the prince.
"Hello, my dear princess, my name is Prince Joseph," he said.
"Hello Prince Joseph, my name is Midnight, and I welcome you to my castle," Midnight said.
"My my, this castle is beautiful," He said.
"Thank you," she said, blushing a deep red.

During the next three days, Prince Joseph starts to see a pattern in Midnight's mood.
'What is going on with the princess? Why doesn't she show any emotions?' he thought, walking to a room. He hears Princess Midnight crying.
"Why do I feel so useless?" she cried.
'So she does shows emotions,' he thought, knocking on the door.
"Princess Midnight, are you alright?" Prince Joseph asked, outside the door.
"O-Of course," she lied, "Why would you asked me a silly question?"
"You sounded like you were crying," he said.
"Of course not!! Why would I, the princess who could make people smile, be sad?" she asked.
"I can read your aura. Yours is blue, a deep blue. A blue that means sadness," he said.
"I-I don't know what you are t-talking about," she said, on the urge of tears.
"Lady Midnight, are you alright?" he asked.
"I-I don't know this f-feeling that I am h-having right now," she said, starting to weep.
Prince Joseph walks up to Midnight and pulls her close to a hug.
"That my lady, is called love. You are knowing what is like for someone to fall in love with you," he said, hugging her tighter.
"I-I'm in love?" she asked.
"Yes," he answered, "So, why do you mask your emotions? Why not embrace them?"
"I want the people to see that I am brave. I don't want them to see that I am very emotional," she said, wiping the tears away.
"You are brave though. You don't need to pretend to be happy to show braveness," he said.
Midnight started crying harder.
"Th-That was the nicest thing t-that anyone has ever said," Midnight said.
"Shhhh, just stay here," Joseph whispered, hugging her for a while longer. Then, after a few minutes, he let go of her but not leaving her side.
"Princess Midnight?" Joseph asked.
"Yeah," Midnight said.
"I love you," he said, pulling her close to a kiss. Their lips were hesitant at first, but then they deepened the kiss. After a few minutes, they ended the kiss, panting.
"I love you too," she said.
And they lived happily ever after.
The End.

Hey everyone!! So I finally wrote my first short story. To be honest, I did this based off of my own relationship between me and Ricky.
Ricky represents Prince Joseph, while Midnight represents me.
Anywho, I hope you like it.
Bye-bye.
