{7} Little Amelia
***
3rd POV:
Dean and Sam were staring down at a briefcase, but someone was missing. That someone happened to be Amy who was laying on one of the beds asleep. She had her thumb in her mouth and was holding onto the blanket tightly. No one knew why she was acting the way she was and for some reason she would only respond to Little Amelia now. The boys were thinking it had to do something with the weird stuff happening lately.
"What the hell does a demon got to do with this, anyway?" Dean asked Sam looking to him.
Sam sighed, "Believe me, I got no idea." Sam looked to be a little shaken up and thoughtful, but after what he just did, why wouldn't he be?
"You okay?" Dean questioned.
Sam turned to Dean and nodded, "Yeah, yeah. I'll be all right."
"Let's crack her open. What's the worst that could happen, right?" Dean asked. Sam and Dean started to move closer to the briefcase. They placed their thumbs on the buttons and waited. After a second or two, the pressed down the button and the briefcase flew open. A bright light shined brightly and the boys looked away from the light as it died down.
"What the hell was that?" Dean asked when the light died down completely.
"It's a human soul," The boys snapped toward the voice to see Cas standing there with a burger in his hand. "It's starting to make sense." Cas took a bite of his burger.
"Now, what about that makes sense?" Sam questioned.
"And when did you start eating?" Dean added looking at the burger in his hand.
"Exactly. My hunger and the way," Cas looked back at Amy who was still fast asleep, "Amelia has been acting- it's a clue, actually." Cas explained.
"For what?" Sam and Dean both asked.
Cas walked toward toward the boys, "This town is not suffering from some love-gone-wrong effect. It's suffering from hunger. Starvation, to be exact--Specifically...famine."
"Famine? As- as in the horseman?" Sam asked stuttering a little.
"Great. Th- th-that's freaking great." Dean commented sarcastically.
"I thought famine meant starvation, like as in, you know, food." Sam said to Cas.
Cas nodded, "Yes. Absolutely. But not just food. I mean, everyone seems to be starving for something--Sex, attention, drugs, love... And in Amy's case, she is starving to be a child for some reason." That part confused the boys, why would Amy want to be act like a child? They'll have to ask her when she is herself again.
"Well, that explains the puppy-lovers that Cupid shot up." Dean stated.
"Right. The cherub made them crave love, and then Famine came, and made them rabid for it." Cas took a bite of his burger again.
"Okay, but what about you? I mean, since when do angels secretly hunger for White Castle?" Dean asked Cas.
Cas started to explain, "It's my vessel- Jimmy. His, uh, appetite for red meat has been touched by Famine's effect." What the three didn't know was that, Amy woke up and was staring at her gun curiously.
"So, Famine just rolls into town and everybody goes crazy?" Dean asked try to make sense of all of this.
"'And then will come Famine riding on a black steed. He will ride into the land of plenty... and great will be the Horseman's hunger, for he is hunger. His hunger will seep out and poison the air. ' Famine is hungry. He must devour the souls of his victims." Cas explained turning back to the the boys.
"So, that's what was in the briefcase-The twinkie dude's soul?" Dean asked and that is when he noticed Amy who was playing with her gun. He rushed over and took it from her making Amy whine.
Cas replied to his question after Dean got the gun away from Amy, "Lucifer has sent his demons to care for Famine, to feed him, make certain he'll be ready."
"Ready for what?" Sam questioned.
Cas turned to Sam, "To March across the land." Awhile later, the boys told Amy to stay in the motel room. But while the boys were all talking to each other, Amy, who was acting very mischievously, sneaked out into the Impala.

"So...you're saying you're just well-adjusted?" Cas asked Dean.
"God, no. I'm just well-fed." Dean replied with a smile. Suddenly, Amy popped up from the back seat and she leaned forward.
"Hi!" Amy said with a childish smile. Both of the boys jumped at the suddenness of her appearance. Dean and Cas looked back at her in shock that she was here.
"How did you get in here?" Dean asked her.
"I sneaked in here while you guys were talking." Amy said smiling.
"You can't just sneak into someones car. It isn't right." Dean said. Amy's smile fell off of her face and she got the saddest look on her face. She leaned back against the leather seat and looked out the window. Dean started to freak out a little because she looked like she was going to cry. Dean was about to say something to her, but Cas cut him off.
"Look there." A man in a black suit was walking out of the hospital with a briefcase in hand. The black man walked straight to a black van and Dean started the car. When the van drove away, Dean started to drive after it.

They pulled up to a diner with two men in black suits guarding the door. The van stopped and the man with the briefcase got out and walked in the diner. Dean turned the car off as they watched the men. "Demons. You want to go over the plan again?" Dean turned to Cas seeing he was playing with a wrapper. "Hey, happy meal. The plan?"
"I take the knife, I go in, I cut off the ring hand of Famine, and I meet you back here in the parking lot." Cas replied.
"Well, that sounds foolproof." Dean said.
Amy spoke up, "Oh! Can I go?" Amy was now acting like a happy child again. Her mood swings were getting really hard to keep up with.
"No," Dean said and Amy instantly deflated. Cas then disappeared out of the car. After a few seconds of waiting, Dean turned to Amy, "Amy," Amy gave him a look. Dean sighed, "Little Amelia, stay in the car." Then, Dean got out of the car and walked toward the diner with a gun in hand.

1st POV:
After all of the Famine stuff, I went completely back to normal and I didn't remember anything from when I was acting like a child. Sam also drank some demon blood and now we have him locked in Bobby's panic room. Just until the hallucinations and stuff go away. From our side of the metal door, we could hear Sam screaming and gasping.
"No! Stop! Guys, help!" Sam screamed. Dean took a drink of whatever he was drinking right now. He closed his eyes as we heard Sam's screams.
Cas glanced over at Dean, "That's not him in there. Not really."
"I know." Dean said.
"Dean, Sam just has to get it out of his system. Then he'll be-" Cas was cut off.
"Listen, I just, uh...I just need to get some air." Then, Dean walked out of the room. I watched him leave and after a few minutes of waiting for him to come back, I decided to go after him. I walked outside and looked around to find any trace of him. I finally saw him standing next to the Impala and looking up at the sky.
I walked over to his side and looked up at the sky looking at the stars, "Hey."
I felt Dean glance at me, "Hey... I need to ask you something." Dean said to me.
I turned to him, "What is it?"
"When you were acting the way you were before, there was something you were doing. You only responded to us when we called you Little Amelia," My breath hitched. "Why? And why do you want to be a child again?"
"Little Amelia is what my mom used to call me before she died. My dad died when I was really young and my mom was the only one who was really there for me. After she died when I was nine, I had to grow up completely because I had to. I never understood that my mom was dead. I would ask people if they had seen her and they would just give me the most pitiful looks," I wiped a tear that was sliding down my face. "I finally understood the day of her funeral and I knew then that nothing would ever go back to normal, I was completely alone."
I looked away from Dean as more tears slid down my face. I felt arms wrap around me and I knew instantly who it was. I turned and wrapped my arms around Dean as I cried. After awhile of staying like that, Dean said he was going back inside and he headed back for the house. I looked up at the stars and was lost in my thoughts. I moved my hair out of my face and wiped more tears out of my face. That wasn't the only reason I wanted to be called that. I wanted something to remind me of my mom on this day because... it was her birthday.
