{15} The Archangel, Gabriel

***

Sam, Dean, and I ran into the hotel that we parked in front of. We were soaking wet seeing as it was raining outside. Well, actually the boys were wet because luckily my jacket had a hood. I took my hood off of my head when we got inside. The inside of the hotel looked really fancy and there was a bar which I knew the boys would be going to at one point.

"Nice digs, for once," Dean said as he looked around the place too. The three of us were standing at the front desk as we told the guy we would need two rooms. "Busy night." Dean commented. I looked at the guy's name tag and it read 'Chad'.

"Any port in a storm, I guess," Chad said looking away from the computer. Dean laughed a little and Chad handed Dean a paper. "If you could just fill this out, please."

"Yeah." Dean said as he signed it.

Chad's attention was drawn to something on Dean's face making me confused. "Sir, I think... Shaving nick there," Chad handed Dean a tissue. Chad held out two keys, "Your keys."

"Oh. Thanks," Dean took the keys and he handed one to me. "Hey, you wouldn't happen to have a coffee shop, would you?" Dean asked.

"Buffet. All you can eat," Chad pointed over to it. "Best pie in the tri-state area."

Dean's face lit up when he said that, "You don't say?"

***

I sat at a table with Sam eating some chocolate pie. I looked over to see Dean talking to a woman in red. "Kali..." The whispers said as I got a headache. It wasn't as bad as they usually are which was good. Kali must've been the woman's name, but why would they want me to know that? They wouldn't tell me something unless it was important so why tell me that?

Dean walked over here and sat down at the table. "Sam, unpucker, man. Eat something."

Sam was looking down at his phone looking at something, "We should hit the road, Dean."

"In this storm? I-it's--" Dean stuttered.

"It's biblical. Exactly. I-it's friggin' Noah's ark out there, and we're eating pie." Sam said.

"It's good pie though." I said as I took a bite of mine. Dean smiled showing that he agreed with me.

"How many hours of sleep did you get this week? What? Three? Four? Bobby's got his feelers out, okay? We have talked with every hoodoo man and root woman in 12 states-" Dean was cut off.

"Yeah, well, I'm not giving up." Sam stated.

"Nobody's giving up," The three of us didn't say anything for a second or two. Dean continued, "Especially me. We're gonna find a way to beat the devil, okay? Soon. I can feel it. And we will find Cas, we'll find Adam. But you are no good to me burnt out."

Sam nodded, "Yeah. Yeah, okay."

"Come on, we've actually got the night off for once. Let's try to enjoy it." Dean said to him. I have a feeling that this isn't going to go how we expect it to. At least, we will have a little fun before something comes to ruin it.

***

Sam, Dean, and I were on our way to our rooms. While walking, we saw a couple who we making out in the hallway. Dean pointed at them with a smile on his face making Sam and I sigh. "Oh, what are you, 12?" Sam asked Dean. We stopped in front of the boys room.

Dean scoffed, "I'm young at heart."

I rolled me eyes at him with an amused expression. I started walking away from the two boys with me stuff and my key, "I'm going to check out my room." They nodded and walked inside of their room.

***

I put my stuff down on my bed and I looked around at the room. This hotel was a pretty fancy place. I don't think I've been to a place fancier than this. There was even a chocolate on the pillow which I ate as soon as I saw it. While I was looking through my stuff, I heard a really loud thump and it knocked some stuff down. I walked out of my room and went straight to where I heard the sound come from.

I walked into the room and saw nobody there. I looked around and saw that the bed was messed up, but still not a person in sight. I heard the door open behind me and I turned to see Sam and Dean. "You guys heard it too?" I asked them. The two of them nodded and we all started looking together.

"Hello?" Dean called out.

"Hello?" Sam called out as something on the carpet caught my attention. I bent down and picked the object up hesitantly. When I looked at it, I realized that it was an engagement ring.

***

The boys were talking to Chad at the front desk while I watched from a distance. Something wasn't right about that guy, but I'm not sure what it is. I suddenly felt something scratch my neck. I put my hand up to where I felt it and pulled my hand back seeing blood on it. It wasn't bleeding badly and it would heal up in no time. When did I get this cut?

The boys were walking over to me and Sam said, "Creepy."

"I have an off feeling about him." I said glancing back at Chad.

"What kind of feeling? A regular one or a Banshee one?" Dean asked me.

"Both." I replied.

Sam looked at the cut on my neck, "Where'd you get that?" He questioned pointing at the cut.

"I don't know." I responded.

"All right, well, I'll scope out the joint, and you keep an eye on Norman Bates over here. Amy, you look around to see what you can find," Dean sighed as he started walking away. "I mean, one night off. Is that too much to ask?"

***

After awhile of looking, I found absolutely nothing. I looked for about twenty minutes and found nothing whatsoever. I met up with the boys awhile later and what Dean said shocked me. "An elephant? You saw an elephant?" I asked.

"Yeah." Dean replied.

"Like, an elephant?" Sam questioned. It was obvious that he was shocked as well.

"Like, full-on Babar." Dean responded as we entered the lounge.

"So what the hell..," We stopped as we looked around. Everybody was gone. Even that weird Chad guy. "Where is everybody?" The fireplace was still going and all the lights are on, but nobody is around. Sam walked over to the front doors and tried to open them, but they wouldn't budge.

"Let me guess- it's locked. So what- the roaches check in, they don't check out?" Dean asked to no one in particular.

"Seems like it." I replied.

Sam had a look of realization on his face, "Think about how we got here," He started walking back to Dean and I. "That detour on I-90? The friggin' hurricane?"

"You saying we were led here?" Dean questioned.

"Like rats in a maze." Sam responded. It all made sense really now that I think back on it. Then we went on our way to find out what was going on.

***

We walked into the kitchen and started to look around for any clue to something. Everything was looking completely normal until we came across a pot with a red liquid bubbling in it. "Please be tomato soup. Please be tomato soup," Dean lifted the ladle and in it were two eyeballs. I looked away from the sight in disgust.

"Definitely not tomato soup." I said in disgust.

"Motel hell." Dean stated. We looked over at the freezer and Sam was the first one to walk towards it. There was suddenly a loud sound that caught my attention. I looked over to see a man with his hand on the window.

"Help us! Get us out!" The man called out as someone else came to the window. Sam reached into his pocket and pulled out his lock picking kit.

"Hurry up!" Dean said with urgency in his voice.

"I'm going as fast as I..," Sam stopped and he was looking directly behind us. "As I can."

"There's somebody behind us, isn't there?" Dean asked. I didn't want to turn around so I didn't. The people who were behind us grabbed the three of us and dragged us somewhere.

***

We were dragged into the Grand Ballroom by the guys from before. They let go of us when we were inside. We looked around and seeing people with name tags. The girl that Dean was hitting on before was among them. As I looked at the name tags, the realization hit me. I saw names like Ganesh, Odin, and Kali. They were all Gods?

"Something tells me this isn't a Shriner convention." Dean commented.

"Nope. Doesn't seem like it." I agreed as I looked around the room.

Chad, his name tag now said Mercury, Mercury wheeled in something, "Dinner is served." He lifted the top off of the thing to reveal a head. Everybody in front of started to clap. Suddenly, a spotlight was placed on Sam, Dean, and I.

"Ladies and Gentleman, our guests of honor have arrived." The guy, Baldur, told everyone as he looked striaght at the three of us. Awhile later, everyone, including the three of us, were sitting at the table. Baldur hit his fork against his champagne glass making a clinking sound. "Ladies and gentleman, thank you for coming. Although in all my centuries, I never thought I'd see this. This many Gods under one roof."

"Gods?" Sam asked Dean and I.

"Now, before we get down to brass tacks, some ground rules. No slaughtering each other. Curb your wrath. Oh, and uh, keep your hands off the local virgins. We're, trying to keep a low profile here." Baldur continued.

"Oh, we are so, so screwed." Sam said to us quietly.

Baldur eyes shifted around the table, "Now we all know why we're here. The Judeo-Christian apocalypse looms over us. I know we've all had our little disagreements in the past. The time has come to put those aside and look toward the future. Because if we don't, we won't have one. Now we do have two very valuable bargaining chips. Michael, and Lucifer's vessels, along with the Banshee," Baldur pointed at Sam, Dean, and I making the Gods turn their attention to us. "The question is, what do we do now? Anybody have any bright ideas? Speak up. This is a safe room." Zao Shen said something, but I had no idea what he said.

"Oh, I don't like his tone." Dean commented.

Ganesh laughed, "Kill 'em? What, so the angels can bring them back again?"

"I don't know what everybody's getting so worked up about! 'Cause it's just a couple of angels having a slap fight! There's no Armageddon. Everybody knows, when the world comes to an end, the Great Serpent Jormungandr rises up, and I myself will be eaten by a big wolf!" Odin laughed. Zao Shen sighed and said something else.

Odin didn't look pleased, "Oh yeah? And why is that? Because your beliefs are so much more realistic? The whole world's getting carried around on the back of a giant turtle? Ha! Give me a break!" Zao Shen spoke again. Odin stood up, "What are you gonna do about it?"

"If only there were subtitles." I whispered to the boys.

Zao Shen said something and Odin pointed at him threateningly, "You watch your mouth when you talk to me, boy!" While Zao Shen talked some more, the boys and I got up from our chairs quietly. "No one's ever proved that." Odin said. We turned around and before we could take one step, the chandelier fell to the ground.

"Stay," A female voice said. I turned to see it was Kali who said that. She was standing up and looking straight at the three of us. Kali looked back to the other Gods, "We have to fight. The archangels, the only thing they understand is violence. This ends in blood. There is no other way, it's them, or us."

Mercury raised his hand, "With all due respect, ma'am, we haven't even tried talking to them." Kali looked at Mercury intensely and the God suddenly started to cough up blood.

"Kali!" Baldur said.

"Who asked you?" Kali asked Mercury.

Suddenly, the Ballroom doors opened, "Can't we all just get along!" I turned to see a man who I didn't recognize, but by the looks on the boys face, they knew him. Dean sounded like he was going to say Gabriel before the guy, I'm assuming Gabriel, did something. Dean tried to talk, but he couldn't. "Sam. Dean. Amy, who I haven't had the pleasure of meeting yet. It's always wrong place, worst time with you muttonheads, huh?"

"Loki." Baldur said in slight disgust.

"Baldur," Gabriel said in the same tone Baldur used. "Good seeing you too. I guess my invitation got lost in the mail."

"Why are you here?" Baldur questioned.

"To talk about the elephant in the room," Ganesh stood up and looked like he was about to say something before Gabriel continued, "Not you. The Apocalypse. We can't stop it, gang. But first things first," Gabriel turned to us, "The adults need to have a little conversation. Check you later." Gabriel snapped his fingers and we suddenly appeared somewhere else.

"I'm assuming that was the Gabriel you guys were telling me about one time." I said.

Dean nodded and then said, "Okay. Did that... Holy crap!"

"Yeah, tell me about it," Sam said in agreement. "By the way, next time I say let's keep driving, uh, let's keep driving."

"Okay. Yeah. Next time." Dean said.

"That seems like the best idea." I added while nodding.

"Alright, so what's our next move?" Sam asked us.

"I-I-I... I don't know," Dean stuttered out in reply. Sam looked over at me to see if I had an answer, but I just shrugged. "Grab those poor saps outta the freezer, I guess? Bust 'em out? Gank a few freaks along the way if we're lucky?"

"And when are you ever lucky?" A voice said. We turned in the direction of the voice to see Gabriel sitting on the couch behind us.

"Well you know what, bite me, Gabriel." Dean stated.

"Maybe later, big boy." Gabriel commented.

"I should've known. I mean this had your stink all over it from the jump." Dean said.

I sighed, "Is this really the time to argue?"

The two boys only ignored me, "You think I'm behind this? Please. I'm the Costner to your Houston. I'm here to save your ass." Gabriel said. Gabriel was standing up now and he stood in front of us.

"You wanna pull us outta the fire?" Dean asked.

"Bingo!" Gabriel replied. "Those Gods are either gonna dust you, or use you as bait. Either way, you're uber boned."

"Wow, 'cause a couple of months ago you were telling us that we need to 'play our roles'. You're uber boning us!" Dean said. I sighed as they continued to argue with each other.

"Ohh... The end is still nigh," Gabriel started to walk slowly passed us. "Michael and Lucifer are gonna dance the lambada, but not tonight. Not here." Gabriel stopped and turned back to us.

"And why do you care?" Dean questioned him.

"I don't care. But, me and Kali we, uh, had a thing. Chick was all hands. What can I say? I'm sentimental." Gabriel said as he saw the looks on our faces.

"Do they have a chance? Against Satan?" Sam asked.

"Really, Sam?" Dean gave Sam an, 'Are you serious?' look.

"You got a better idea, Dean?" Sam shot back.

"It's a bad idea," Gabriel said. "Lucifer's gonna turn them into finger paint. So let's get going while the going's good, hmm?"

Dean cut in quickly, "Okay. Great, why don't you just zap us outta here then?"

"Would if I could, but Kali's got you by the short and curlies. It's a blood spell. You boys and girl are on a leash." Gabriel explained. Realization came to me in an instant. So that's why I was bleeding before.

"What does that mean?" Dean asked confusedly.

"It means it's time for a little of the old black magic." Gabriel spritzed some breath spray in his mouth.

Dean sighed a little, "Okay, yeah. Well, whatever. Well, we're gonna take the hors d'oeuvres in the freezer with us."

"Forget it," Gabriel said quickly. "It's gonna be hard enough sneaking you mooks outta here."

"They called you Loki, right?" Dean questioned. Gabriel gave him a, 'So what?' look, "Which means they don't really know who you are?"

"Told you. I'm in witness protection." Gabriel replied.

Dean started to walk over to Gabriel, "Okay, well then how about you do what we say, or we tell the, uh, legion of doom about your secret identity. They don't seem like a real pro-angel kinda crowd."

"I'll take your voices away." Gabriel said stepping toward Dean threateningly.

"We'll write it down." Dean stated.

"I'll cut off your hands." Gabriel responded.

"Well then, people are gonna be asking, 'Why are you guys running around with no hands?'." Dean said.

Gabriel looked between the three of us and then inhaled deeply, "Fine."
