Chapter 9
As quick as it came the first year was over and it was time to see who won the house cup. I knew that we had most likely lost, seeing as Gryffindor had lost quite a lot of points, mostly from the twins and Harry and his friends. Though to be fair I had lost most of Slytherins points myself.
When no one was looking I snuck over to the Gryffindor's table and plopped down beside Neville, who had a smile on his face upon seeing me.
"Thought I'd sit with my best friend."
"Ouch." Fred said as he and George sent me a look of betrayal and hurt.
"Hey he is a lot nicer than you two."
"I thought you loved us." George said as he covered his eyes in fake shock.
I let out a laugh and shook my head. After awhile Dumbledore stood up from his seat and sent us all a warm smile.
"Another year, gone! And now, as I understand it, the house cup needs awarded and the points stand thus. In fourth place: Gryffindor, with 312 points! In third place: Hufflepuff, with 352 points! Second: Ravenclaw, with 426 points! And in first place, with 472 points: Slytherin house!" He called making the Slytherin's scream with excitement.
The only reason they probably won was because their head of house took almost no points away from them, and had only given them points. Not to mention he took points away from everyone else for practically breathing to loud.
"Twenty points from Gryffindor." Snape said angrily.
"Why?" Harry asked in shock.
"You're breathing annoys me."
I pushed away the memory and shook my head, knowing that didn't actually happen, but it could have happened.
"Nice one, mate." Draco said as he sneered at Ron, who just ignored him and shook his head.
"Yes, well done Slytherin, well done Slytherin. However, recent events must be taken into account and I have a few last minute points to award. To Miss Hermione Granger, for the cool use of intellect while others were in grave peril: fifty points!" Dumbledore exclaimed with a smile.
Hermione looked surprised, while the Gryffindor students clapped for her, including myself. I looked at the table and saw Snape watching me. He shot me a look and I rolled my eyes and snuck back to my table and beside Draco.
"Good job." Harry said as he patted hide back.
"Second, to Mr. Ronald Weasley, for the best played game of chess that Hogwarts has seen these many years: fifty points! And third, to Mr. Harry Potter, for pure love and outstanding courage, I award Gryffindor house: sixty points!"
The Gryffindors cheered once more, this time even louder than before. I looked over at Draco, who looked quite annoyed.
"We're tied with Slytherin!" Hermione exclaimed.
"And finally: it takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to your enemies, but a great deal more to stand up to your friends. I award ten points to Neville Longbottom!"
I turned to look at Neville who looked extremely shocked. I let out a laugh and threw my arms around him, hugging him.
"Go Neville!" I yelled making his face turn red.
Snape shot me another look and I rolled my eyes and walked back over to my table, sending Neville a thumbs up.
"Assuming that my calculations are correct, I believe that a change of decoration is in order!" Dumbledore said clapping his hands together.
With a simple motion of his hands, the Slytherin banners changed completely to red and gold with the Gryffindor symbol.
"Gryffindor wins the House Cup!" Dumbledore yelled causing us all the cheer in delight.
We were soon allowed to eat again and I let out a laugh.
"So where are you spending break at?" Draco asked as I picked at my food.
"Weasley's burrow. Mrs. Weasley was nice enough to allow me to move in with her. Though she doesn't have that much room." I said with a sigh.
"I'm sure it won't be that bad." Pansy said as I set back down next to her.
"I love the Weasley's but Fred and George are a handful." I said with a laugh.
"We can hear you!" George called from his table.
I shook my head and continued to eat.
"You can always come stay with me." Draco said cheerfully.
"I'd rather be eaten alive by a dragon."
"I'm sure I can make that happen."
I rolled my eyes and turned away from him, decided to just continue eating my food in silence.
When it was time to leave I was nervous. I had only ever spent the night at the Weasley's, never actually having to live there and I didn't know what to expect.
The burrow wasn't a small house, it had six bedrooms, a kitchen, two bathrooms, and one living room. There was also an attic in which they kept all their belongings. All in all the house was beautiful.
"I hope it's okay, but you will be rooming with Ginny." Molly said softly.
"Yea that's okay. I can finally learn all the most embarrassing things about all of the boys now." I said as I sent her a smile.
"Like we have anything embarrassing-"
"Did I ever tell you about how Fred use to be scared of heights and that George use to have an imaginary friend?" Molly asked causing the boys to both freeze up.
"Mom!" They yelled as I let out a laugh and followed Ginny upstairs and to her room.
I brought my things to Ginny's room and plopped down on my bed, letting out a sigh.
"You okay?" Ginny asked plopping down beside me.
"Yea, just tired." I said as she laid her head on my shoulder.
"It's gonna be great, just you wait and see."
"Yea, got my baby sister to keep me company."
She nodded her head and I stood up and finally got to work on unpacking my bags. I rubbed my hands and let out a sigh as I put a picture of my mom holding me in her arms, Uncle Moony and a couple of others stood behind her making funny faces, on the dresser.
