I was in the kitchen drinking hot chocolate when I heard Sirius talking to Harry. They hadn't noticed me and I didn't feel like making myself known to them.

"Have you see Kreacher?" Sirius asked with a frown.

"Not for a few days." Harry explained shrugging his shoulders.

"Maybe he has crawled into the vents and died. Mustn't get my hopes up." Sirius said shaking his head.

The door was slammed open and I turned to see Snape walk into the room.

"Potter, excellent you are here." He said as he took a seat at the table.

Snape shot Harry a look and then motioned for him to sit down.

"Sit, Potter." Snape ordered.

"You know I don't like people giving orders in my house." Sirius said angrily.

"How unfortunate for you. Now kindly get out. My instructions from Dumbledore is to speak with Potter alone."

"I'm his godfather. I think I'll stay." Sirius said sitting beside Harry.

"You are also Ebony's step father yet you don't seem to have the same compassion and worry for her." Snape growled out.

"Don't you bring my daughter into this. You don't know anything that has happened to her." Sirius growled out.

"Really? I know more than you. I know she plans to become a teacher, I know that her favorite subject is Potions, she is smarter than Miss Granger in there, but no one sees that. She is so clever she deduced I was her father and that Lupin was a werewolf."

"She is fragile and she is hurting. She needs space."

"She needs family but you are to busy caring about Potter. You can't even see the pain she is in."

"You haven't even talked to her in a year!"

"No, but I visited her everyday. I might not have been in her room, but I watched from her mother's room as she screamed and kicked and begged for you to come save her. But no you abandoned her, you chose Lily and James over her time and time again. You got arrested leaving her alone."

"Enough! I did it for her mother too! You know the woman that loved me more than she loved you!"

"No, Cass only picked you because I messed up. I chose the dark lord over her, but not again. I will not lose my daughter to him and I will not lose her to you." Snape growled out.

"Ebony isn't your daughter. Now why are you here?"

"It is the headmaster's wish that I teach you Occlumency, Potter." Snape said calmly.

"What is that?"

"Occlumency is an ancient form of magic. It allows you to defend your mind from external intrusions." I explained setting my mug down.

Everyone's heads snapped in my direction and I sent them a wave.

"Ebony, how long have you-"

"Since you asked bout Kreacher. Also give points to Slytherin. Looks like Snape actually can read me better than you. Now if you could excuse me, got to put ointment on my arms, scars burning like a bitch." I said as I walked out of the kitchen.

Sirius said something to Harry and then I heard him rush after me.

"Ebony-"

"Been here for almost a week and now you know my name. That is a surprise, actually." I said with a chuckle.

"I've been busy." He said stopping me in my tracks.

I quickly turned to look at him and let out a laugh.

"You all have been. Every last one of you. Busy little bees. While I've been locked in your room trying to keep calm and not have another breakdown. Well I'm done... I'm done being here and listening to this. I can't do it anymore. I need out and I needed out months ago." I said as I walked into my room.

Sirius followed behind me, but as soon as he made it in the room, I was packing my bags.

"Ebony-"

"No! Okay! Let me go, let me have some space. That's what you said I need, to have space? Well give it to me, by letting me leave this house and getting some air. I will write I will send pictures but I have to breath. And I can't do it here. I just.. I can't." I said as tears streamed down my face.

"Where will you go?"

"To the only persons who actually sees me and tried to visit me." I said as I picked up my bag.

Moondrop climbed into her cage and I used my second hand to pick it up. I threw my suitcase in my bag and then slung it over my shoulder.

"Don't look for me." I said as I turned and left my room.

I passed by Harry and Snape who watched me leave the house. To be honest I didn't know where I was going.

I just started waking until I was at the Ministry. I let out a sigh and looked around for Percy's office.

"Ebony?" A voice asked behind me.

I turned around and saw Tonks staring at me, a frown on her face. I opened my mouthy to talk but closed it back as she was walking towards me. I held my cage and bag up and her eyes went wide in realization.

"I left." I mumbled as I looked at the ground.

She shook her head and pulled me into a hug.

"You're always welcomed at my house." Tonks whispered as she rubbed my back.

Tonks took off early and led me to her house. It wasn't a big house, was mostly a flat. It had two bedrooms, a bathroom, and a small kitchen that led into a living room.

"It's not much. But it's home." She explained as I set my things down.

"I'm sorry I sprung this on-"

"Don't ever apologize. You're family." She said pulling me into a hug.
