Chapter 7

Your eyes fluttered open as light flooded into your room. You blinked several times and yawned. You had actually slept through the night and you remembered Clear singing you to sleep. You smiled at the memory until a dark figure leaned over you. You instantly freaked out and pushed the figure, your fist meeting with something rubbery. The person toppled backwards and you jumped out of bed, getting in a fighting stance ready to attack again if needs be but you didn't.

"Clear?" You said lowering your fists and frowning at him. You looked down at the white haired boy as he sat on the floor.

"(Y/n)-san I'm glad your awake." He said standing up and throwing his arms around you as if you hadn't just punched him in the face. You felt confused but you found yourself hugging him back. "I thought you might not wake up."

"Why wouldn't I wake up?" You asked him as he pulled away and looked at you through his gas mask.

"Well Grandfather never woke up and I was afraid that you might not wake up again too. I don't know what I would do if you hadn't woken up." You felt your cheeks become slightly hot at his kind and genuine words.

"So...you stayed here all night?"

"Yes and I even did all your chores for you. I didn't want you to wake up and have to do them because you were poorly."

"Gee thanks Clear but I'm okay. I'm all better now, I think your soup made all the difference."

"Really, it did?"

"Yeah I wouldn't be better without you." You said with a smile.

"(Y/n) I hate to rush you but you have a class starting at the dojo in an hour." Said Ryuu's voice from behind you. You turned and smiled at him. He seemed perfectly fine.

"Are you okay?"

"Yes I'm fine thanks to you however I was worried to hear that you had made yourself sick. You really should take more care of your body (y/n), you know that it can be fragile at times."

"Yeah I know. I'll be more careful next time. Yesterday was a mistake, I honestly don't know what I was thinking."

"I believe your lack of sleep has some what clouded your judgement."

"I guess so." You muttered.

"If you have trouble sleeping again you can always call me and I'll sing to you again." Clear said joining in with the conversation. You smiled at him warmly.

"Thank you Clear but I have to get ready for work now."

"Okay then I guess I should be going." He said icking up the umbrella that was leant against the wall.

"Do you always carry that thing around with you?"

"Yes, it just...looks like the sky will rain again." He said looking out of the window. He opened it. "Goodbye (y/n)-san." He said and then jumped. You ran to the window and looked out of it. Did he really just do that? Then you saw a figure below with pure white hair. Clear opened his umbrella and held it above his head before setting off. You watched until he disappeared from sight and then you took a shower and got ready for work...

You undid your hair and retied it after you walked out of the dojo. The kids you had been teaching did well today, everyone of them gave it their all and you could tell that they had been practicing at home. In a week they were due to have their grading. They would perform in front of you and you and the other three sensei's that worked in your dojo would decide if they were ready to move up to the next belt or not. You liked your job and you always got a sense of satisfaction when you had finished.

"That went well today." Ryuu commented as he flew at head height next to you.

"Yeah I thought so too. Some of them still need a little more work but I'm sure they'll get there by next week. Their very dedicated kids."

"I think that some of that might be due to the fact that their looking to impress you."

"You really think so?"

"I do. You're an inspiration to them and they wish to make you proud." You nodded and smiled at him when you spotted a group of girls all giggling excitedly. What's going on over there? You thought to yourself but as soon as you thought it you got your answer. You saw Koujaku, the lady killer stood in the centre of the crowd with a smile on his handsome face. Even you felt your heart skip a beat at the sight. He was very handsome but you would never allow yourself to become one of those mindless girls, dribbling over a guy that they could never have. Koujaku clearly wasn't going to date any of them but he was a gentleman, something that was increasingly hard to find these days. What was worse is that all his actions seemed genuine. You thought back to what he had told you the first night the two of you met. He really was an incredible guy. Ryuu landed on the ground next to you.

"How are we meant to get through that?" You asked him.

"I don't think we are. There is another way of getting home though if we take a small detour."

"Hey (y/n) I didn't expect to see you here." Called a voice from behind. You turned to see Aoba walking up to you with Ren's head poking out of a bag that was slung over his shoulder.

"Hey guys."

"What's all the fuss about? Oh." He said as he saw the reason for the commotion. His eyes became bored and un interested. You laughed.

"What's wrong? Jealous of your friends skills with the ladies?" Aoba frowned at you, clearly annoyed by your statement.

"No way, he's always been like this since we were kids."

"Oh childhood friends then?"

"Yeah and he stills flirts with every girl he sees."

"I get it. You're not jealous of Koujaku's skills with the ladies your jealous of the ladies he hits on." Aoba's face became as red as a tomato at your words.

"What? No way I'm not one of those."

"One of those? You mean gay? What's wrong with being gay? There's nothing to be ashamed of Aoba." You said with a smile on your face. Aoba's face became an even darker shade of red as he became even more embarrassed.

"Would you cut it out I'm not gay." He calmed his voice realising he had been shouting. "Besides I already have a crush on someone."

"Is it Clear? No wait, Noiz."

"It's a girl alright." Aoba shouted at you. You put your hands up like you were surrendering.

"Alright alright I believe you but just so you know the more to get defensive like that the more I think that your lying." Aoba flashed you a glare as you let out a light chuckle.

"Where have you been anyway?" He asked noticed your hair up and your work out outfit.

"At work. I run a dojo just down the road. I run classes in self defence for all ages. You should come some time."

"Yeah no thanks."

"It might stop those kids from picking on you at the shop, plus I'll even give you a friend discount if your nice."

"A friend discount?"

"Yeah...we are friends right?"

"Oh...yeah of course." He said but looked away. You took notice of the look of pain in his eyes and you were just about to ask him what was wrong when you heard someone call your and Aoba's name. The two of you looked up to see Koujaku walking towards you. His group of fangirl still standing behind him, watching his every move.

"Hey guys. You should have said you were here." He said standing before you.

"You looked a little busy." Said Aoba with an uninterested look on his face. Koujaku let out a small chuckle and smiled.

"Oh no don't mind them." He said and then he looked at you. "(Y/n)...have you got any leads on the disappearances yet?" He asked and the mood between the three of you plummeted.

"No I haven't...sorry. Have you?"

"Not a thing."

"Are you guys talking about Dry Juice?" Aoba asked the two of you and Koujaku nodded.

"We talked about it the other night when I walked her home. She said she was looking for information about the disappearances and if she found anything she'd call."

"He was your friend too right Aoba?" You said asking about Mizuki, the leader of Dry Juice without bringing up his name. Aoba looked at the floor with sad eyes.

"Yeah we are."

"I figured maybe we should check out Dry Juices hideout again." Koujaku said.

"But we've already been there plus last time we went the police showed up." Aoba reminded him.

"That's why we should go back. We didn't get much chance to look around plus (y/n) hasn't been there at all."

"I think that's a good idea." You told him. "I'd like to see it if possible."

"I'm not sure about that..." Aoba began.

"Then (y/n) and I will go by ourselves." Koujaku told him. "It's probably better if you stayed out of harms way anyway."

"What's that supposed to mean?" Aoba asked him with a frown on his face.

"It means that if we run into trouble you don't know how to protect yourself. I'd hate for you to get hurt."

"I can take care of myself." Aoba protested. Then both of the guys glanced at you and looked back at each other. It was like the came to some kind of silent agreement and they both backed off, calming down instantly. What just happened? "I'll come with you guys." Aoba stated calmly.
