Chapter 3

The next day when you woke up after a great nights sleep thanks to Dr Tae new medicine you found Ryuu already awake, pacing the room nervously.

"Ryuu what are you doing?" You asked him yawning tiredly. Ryuu turned his red eyes on you and flew onto you bed. He landed on your raised knees and looked up at you. You blinked at him several times and waited for him to explain himself.

"I hate to be a bother to you (y/n) but I think I am in need of a new chip. My old one seems to be rather warn out." You eyes widened as he said that.

"Why didn't you say anything sooner?" You asked him starting to worry.

"I knew you would over react. It's nothing serious." He reassured you.

"Yes but your an older model Ryuu. We need to be careful with you. If you broke I don't know what I'd do."

"You'd have to get a new AllMate."

"Exactly and that might just kill me. I don't think I'd ever be able to find another dragon AllMate plus surprise surprise I actually like you."

"I understand. I like you too (y/n). I will be sure to notify you sooner in future."

"I'm pretty sure that's what you said last time." You muttered quietly as you picked him up and placed him on the bed beside you and stood up. Your room was actually very tidy, you made sure it was. If there was one thing you didn't like it was a messy room. You double bed was in the corner of the room and and two swords hung on the wall in an x shape. They were both your and you knew how to use them you just preferred not too. You hated the idea of actually hurting your opponents, it made you feel like you really were your Father's daughter. Something you never wanted to feel so instead you had learnt to skill of chi blocking. The martial art of hitting someone's pressure points with a certain amount of force. If you were to hit the main pressure points in someones arm their arm would become limp and completely useless. That combined with your agility, speed and skill made a very deadly combination. Although you had hung your two swords up you still carried daggers that were hidden within your clothing in case of emergencies. You walked over to the small chest of drawers on the other end of the medium sized square bedroom and opened the middle one. That was were you kept spare parts for Ryuu. Since he was  a pretty old model when you found the right parts for him you normally brought them in bulk to make sure you were safe for the future. You rummaged through the wires and other equipment and let out a frustrated sigh.

"Is something wrong?" Ryuu asked as he still lying on the bed were you left him.

"The chip you have was the last one I had. I completely forgot to look for more. How long can you hold out for?"

"By my calculations I would say about two days."

"Ryuu that's not very long at all. Are you able to do a search for any places nearby that might sell your parts?"

"I am." He said and then he fell silent. "There is one place not far from here. I'm not sure if they will sell what your looking for but it's certainly worth a try."

"Right well let me get dressed and we'll go." You said...

"Is this it?" You asked Ryuu as the two of you stood outside a rather run down looking junk shop.

"It is."

"Well it certainly looks like the kind of place to find new chips for you." You said with a sigh. The sign above the shop read 'junk shop mediocrity,' you were almost certain you had heard that name somewhere before, but where? You opened the shop door and your eyes instantly began looking at the piles of all kinds of stuff that lay everywhere.

"Welcome to Mediocrity how can I he...(y/n)?" A voice questioned you.  You looked behind the counter on the far end of the room and saw a familiar blue haired boy.

"Oh Aoba, hello." You said suddenly understanding where you had heard of this place before. Ryuu followed you into the shop and you closed the door behind you.

"I didn't expect to see you here." He said.

"I could say the same myself." He smiled and rubbed the back of his head.

"So what can I help you with?"

"It's Ryuu he needs a new chip. He's an older model but do you think you have the right chip for him?"

"We might can I have a look at him?"

"Yeah sure." You answered picking your dragon AllMate up and placing him on the desk in front of Aoba. You watched as Aoba opened up your AllMate to have a look when your eyes spotted a small black dog behind him. "Is that your AllMate?" You asked him drawing Aoba's attention away from Ryuu. Aoba looked behind him.

"Yeah this is Ren. Hey Ren, wake up buddy." He said and the dogs eyes opened.

"Aoba what's wrong?" He asked as he stood up.

"Nothing man but this is (y/n), the girl I met last night at dinner." He said pointing to you and then returning to his work.

"It's very nice to meet you (y/n). Aoba spoke fondly of you last night." He confessed. You saw Aoba cheeks become red and you couldn't help but smile.

"Oh did he now?" You let out a small laugh and then the sound of three small voices filled your eyes after the door to the shop opened.

"I see Aoba's here again." Said the boy in the middle dressed in an animal outfit.

"And as boring as ever." Said the other boy in the ski glasses.

"And this shops as lame as ever." Said the third small brown haired girl. She was kind of cute but you could already tell the three were a hand full.

"Hey get out of here you three." Aoba ordered them.

"No way." The oldest shouted.

"Your not the boss of us." Said the one in ski goggles.

"Who are you? Aoba's girlfriends?" The girl said rudely pointing at you.

"Sh-she's not my girlfriend." Aoba protested with a bright red face. You looked at his blushing face and silently thought to yourself that he looked rather cute. Your exterior remaining as calm as ever you turned back to the three children in front of you.

"I'm (y/n)." You said simply.

"Ha, looks like a new found target to me." Said the oldest boy.

"Yeah target locked." Said the other boy.

"Ready to charge." Said the girl while you frowned at them. Were they really planning to attack you?

"Go!" The oldest yelled and all three came at you at once. You took a small step to the side and easily dodged the oldest boys flying punch. The next boy tried to throw one at you but you stopped his fist with one hand like it was the easiest thing in the world. The girl earnestly threw punches at your thigh but there was no real power behind it and you barely even felt it.

"Let go of my brother." She ordered you while still punches you. You were so busy watching her that you had forgotten you were still holding the smaller boys fist. You instantly let it go and the boy took several steps backward. The girl stopped punching you and went to stand by her two older brothers.

"Targets a lot tougher than expected." Said the oldest in a quiet voice.

"Yeah she makes Aoba look even more weaker than he already is." Said the other boy.

"Hey I can hear you." Aoba shouted at them from behind the counter.

"What do we do Captain?" The little girl asked her oldest brother. The oldest put his finger to his chin and thought carefully.

"Whatever you decide to do I would like to say that what you did do was rather impressive." You said suddenly making the children and Aoba look at you with wide eyes.

"Really?" The little girl asked a sparkle in her eyes.

"Indeed. It was a very well planned attack. The three of you work well together and those punches were not bad either. Perhaps it needs a little work but I'm sure you'll get there." You smiled at them. The three children had a small blush on their faces, as if they had never been complimented like that before. For your work you ran a dojo were you taught people of all ages how to defend themselves. You generally did basic things, like who to disarm someone and things but there were advanced classes where you even taught people the art of chi blocking. The skill you had spent years perfecting. Over the years of working there you had developed the skill to judge someone's physical ability simply from looking at them. It came in handy during battle and it made sure that you knew exactly what your opponent was capable off. You could easily see that these kids had talent, if they came to your classes you could bring that talent out and cultivate it but you weren't going to say anything. You didn't want them to feel like you were pushing them into it. You knew what it felt like to be forced to train against your will and you made a promise never to do the same to anyone, ever. The room fell silent for a short while until the sound of a robotic voice travelled into the room.

"Cleaning! Cleaning!" It said as a rather old looking robotic AllMate came into the room with a dust pan and brush. The three children snapped out of their daze and looked at the AllMate. A smile spread across their faces as they looked at each other.

"Attack!" Cried the eldest and they charged for the AllMate.

"Cl-cleaning!" The AllMate stuttered and turned, wheeling into the back of the shop in an attempt to escape.

"You really shouldn't encourage those brats you know." Aoba said once they had left.

"Their just having some fun."

"Yeah but they normally have a little too much fun and break stuff in the shop. I've never seen anyone actually calm them down like that before though. It was impressive." He said.

"Thanks." You replied and looked down at Ryuu who lay on the counter looking up at you. "Do you have the right parts?"

"We normally do but we're out of shock at the moment. We have a delivery coming tomorrow I can make a last minute delivery request and get the chip you need. Of course you would have to come back tomorrow for it." Ryuu had said his current chip would last him two more days so actually Aoba's proposal was perfect.

"No that's fine." You told him as he closed up your AllMate and began typing on the computer.

"Could I ask for you details so that I can contact you when the delivery arrives?" He said.

"Of course." You replied lifting your sleeve up to reveal your Coil. (A/n just a heads up your coil it the same as Minks and Koujaku but black). You sent Aoba your details and the computer pinged next to him, letting him know that he had received them.

"Alright it's done. So, I guess I'll see you tomorrow then."

"Yeah." You said picking up Ryuu and placing him on the ground. "Thank you for your help."

"No problem." Aoba said with slightly roses cheeks and a goofy smile on his face. This kid blushes easily, you thought you yourself.

"Well then goodbye Aoba, Ren." You said nodding your head towards the black AllMate which he returned. You turned and left the shop without another word...
