Inviting the problem
It was already eight in the morning. Virat was getting ready to go to the office. He wore his business suit and came down to the dining hall. The staff was arranging plates on the dining table for him. After the tragic incidents in the party, Rakesh had the kitchen staff test all the food first and then served it to Virat under his supervision. So what happened at the party should not get repeated again.
When Virat saw the food, the report Chaddha had shown him earlier flashed before his eyes again. He had also discussed this matter with Jay during his workout at the gym this morning. Jay had tried to investigate the matter on his own. He told Virat that the two people who shot Rajshree at the party were not professional murderers but actually the members of the dance group. They probably did it just because of financial difficulties. Jay also suspected that whoever was behind all this must have placed someone in the mansion to keep an eye on Virat's every move. Virat couldn't agree more with this. The real mastermind was definitely well-acquainted with the Tomar mansion. He or she has every information about Rajshree's arrival to the party plus all the arrangements of security. He had all the information beforehand, which is why he made such a perfect plan. But now the biggest question was how to find out who is leaking all the inner information of the mansion to that mastermind.
"Sir, your breakfast is served. Please have it before it gets cold. We are already getting late for the office." Rakesh said, placing the breakfast plate in front of him. Virat glanced at the plate but then his eyes got stuck on the window. Lucky was running towards the servant quarters from there.
"I have no time to eat right now. There are more important things that need to be done immediately. Let's go..." Virat pushed the breakfast plate aside, stood up, and quickly headed outside. Rakesh was confused for a moment but he had to follow Virat's orders, so he ran after him without thinking. Virat was walking with full speed. Almost in a minute he crossed all the alleys and stopped in front of the servant quarters. He stopped two staff members passing by and asked,
"Hey stop, in all of these Lucky is staying in Which room?"
Both staffs get shocked hearing his name.
"That jinx...?? he stays in the room right in front. Your Highness, we advise you to not go there and stay as far away from him as possible. He has such a bad luck whoever gets close to him gets completely ruined." one of the staff members replied in a trembling voice. But Virat completely ignored the rest of his words and quickly moved towards that room. He tried to open the door, but it was locked from inside.
"Open it." Virat signaled to Rakesh. Rakesh tried two or three times, but when he couldn't open the door, Virat pushed him aside and kicked the door hard, and it gets opened with a loud bang.
"Search the room thoroughly." Virat signaled to the people who came with him, and they immediately started turning everything in the room upside down. The room had thick recipe books, books based on special spices, a collection of special spices, some herb plants, and not much else.
"Who?? Who is there?"
Hearing Lucky's voice from inside, Virat's attention turned to that room.
"So, you're hiding here? No one can save you from me today Lucky." Virat angrily opened the door without knowing it was the bathroom door. On the other side, Lucky was also fully prepared. As soon as the door opened, she threw the curtain upon the person coming inside. Virat feels like everything gets darken for a second. He tried to free himself, but Lucky didn't gave him any chance to move. Wrapping him tightly with the curtain, she pulled out the rod from the curtain and started hitting Virat continuously with the rod.
"You thief... how dare you?? Robbing me in broad daylight... in this fully guarded mansion? In my room? Today, I'll make you remember your seven generations in your one life..."
Rakesh heard the noise coming from the bathroom and he rushed to go there. The rest of the people also followed him and came inside. By then, Virat had also managed to free himself. With one hand he blocked the attack on himself and with the other hand he removed the curtain over him and threw it away.
"How dare you..." Virat shouted. Hearing his thunderous growl Lucky feels like her soul is ready to leave her body. Once again, she messed up everying. And not just any mess-up... this time it was a huge one.
"Poor Lucky... he's the perfect example of the saying 'inviting trouble.' But this he literally called out bull of Yama to kill himself. Today, even Yama can't save this guy." Rakesh said, looking at Lucky with pity. On the other hand Lucky was still staring at Virat in shock.
"Did you Found anything?" Virat now looked at Rakesh.
"No, sir... there's nothing unusual here."
Before Lucky could understand, the phone in the bathroom started ringing. Both Lucky and Virat's attention went straight to Lucky's jeans pocket where half of the phone was visible. Virat tried to take the phone from her pocket. But Lucky was afraid to be touched by him so in panic, she stepped back and pulled her phone in her hand. In the scuffle, the phone slipped from her hand and fell into the toilet. Watching the phone floating in the toilet, Virat burst out of anger.
"You... i know you dropped the phone on purpose. Now Get the phone out."
Lucky had indeed dropped the phone in the toilet on purpose. Virat was already suspicious of her, which is why he was searching her room. If he will get her phone in no time he will extract all the info about her by piecing two and two together. So, she cleverly dropped her phone in the toilet.
"I'm not getting it out. Anyway, it's of no use to me now. If any of you want it, you can get it yourself." Lucky replied smirking. Virat glared at her for a few moments in anger and then quickly walked out. The rest of the people followed him too. Lucky let out a sigh of relief and sat down, clutching her chest. When she had returned here, she had removed everything from her room that could reveal she was a girl. However, keeping the phone was essential. I mean, living without a phone in this era is like trying to work without hands. But in the end, she had to sacrifice her phone to the toilet. She was about to leave when two guards came running back into her room.
"Here he is ... Take her.." one of them pointed at Lucky.
"Where are you taking me?" Lucky looked at them in confusion. But they ignored her question and dragged her to the garden. Virat was already there. The garden looked different today, with tables decorated with champagne bottles everywhere. But apart from Rakesh and Virat, there was no one else. The two guards who brought Lucky there also left after sending her there.
"Wh... why have I been brought here?" Lucky asked Virat. But it was as if Virat didn't hear anything. He walked leisurely to a table and stopped. He picked up a pistol lying there, and Lucky's heart started pounding as if it would jump out of her chest. Was he going to kill her here? For these royal princes, it wasn't a big deal. Virat examined the pistol and then put it back, and Lucky let out a long sigh of relief. But the next moment, Virat picked up an even bigger gun and started walking towards Lucky.
"The game is over. This madman is definitely going to kill me and bury me in this garden. That's why he sent all the guards away so that there would be no evidence of his crime." Lucky's throat went dry by fear.
"How long have you known Rajee?" Virat's question startled Lucky.
"Since I started working here."
"Tell the truth." Virat growled, and Lucky scared, fell to her knees.
"I... I'm telling the truth... I swear by Waheguru..."
"You know her for just two days? Then why were you crying at her death? Like... like..." Virat's words trailed off.
"Like..." Lucky squinted at him with astonishment.
"Like your girlfriend died." Virat fired in frustration, and the bullet whizzed past Lucky's ear, hitting the champagne bottle behind her with a loud bang. The bottle shattered, and Lucky almost jumped in shock. Girlfriend??
"Your Highness, how can you even think like that? Rajshree madam was a girl and I..." Lucky stopped abruptly with her own word. What was she about to say?
"And you what?" Virat looked at her with narrowed eyes.
"And I am a boy..." Lucky replied in a dead voice, hitting her forhead with her hand. Who came up with this eternal thought that a girl and a boy can never be friends? Now there was nothing left to say in defense. Finally, Lucky understood the reason for Virat's anger. And she had no way of escaping it. If she will tell Virat the truth, that she is a girl she would be dead, and if she didn't, she would still be dead.
"Take him away and beat him hard. Make sure he doesn't die. After getting beaten up, the truth will come out of her mouth on its own." Virat said, turning his eyes away from her.
"But what wrong have I done? Your Highness, I'm telling the truth. I met Rajshree madam for the first time here in this mansion. She was like a mother to me, sir. How can you even think that?"
"Take her away from my sight..." Virat signaled to Rakesh, who pushed Lucky and took her to the wrestling arena.
"Sir, why have you brought me here now?" Lucky asked, looking around in distress. All around, wrestlers in red loincloths were visible. Some were doing exercises, and some were practicing wrestling moves. The atmosphere in every other minute echoes with the chant "Bolo Bajrangbali Ki Jai."
"Any guess?" A crooked smile spread across Rakesh's lips, and Lucky gets terrified by guessing the meaning of it.
"Dear Lucky... You are done... God I am coming to you."
To be continued...
