Disco
Rakesh pointed towards the wrestlers fighting in the arena, "Take a good Look at them ... if you like any of them, you can fight with him. It will hurt you a little less, and I'll get some entertainment too. You're lucky to get a chance to choose. And that's only because you cook well."
'What kind of luck is this? Even though I'm a girl, I'm accused of stealing someone else's girlfriend. In the last six months, I've been accused of so many thefts, but this one accusation outweighs all the others. And here he is thinking about his entertainment.' Lucky fumed inwardly.
"Listen everybody... Mr. Lakhwinder Singh, aka Lucky, has come here to challenge you all to a fight. So, who wants to fight him?" Rakesh clapped his hands to attract everyone's attention. All the wrestlers stopped their work and looked towards them.
"This tiny mosquito?? I'll crush him with my one finger." A heavy weight wrestler laughed at Lucky.
"Oh, Sardar Ji do it more. I've never seen such a skinny Sikh before." Everyone laughed at his comment. Lucky might not know wrestling moves, but she was a champion in martial arts. Hearing their comments made her blood boil with anger. She could easily take them all down.
"Fine! If you want this. Just Come to the arena. I too want to see who has the guts to fight with me." Lucky stood in front of them with full confidence. Silence fell over the place in an instant. Rakesh looked at her in surprise. Has he lost her mind due to too much fear?
"I am really impressed with your courage... ok take off your clothes and come to the arena to do one on one." One of them, who seemed to be their coach, said to lucky. Hearing the command to take off her clothes, Lucky's enthusiasm vanished in the next second.
"Wh... wh... why do I need to take off my clothes? Who said wrestling can't be done with clothes on?"
"This is an arena, kid. You have to follow the rules here. Come on, take off your clothes." Hearing their coach's words, Lucky looked at Rakesh, but he was comfortably stretching and sitting on a chair.
"Don't worry... girls aren't allowed here. There's nothing to be shy about; it's all boys here. Just take off your clothes and wear this underwear."
'That's the problem. There is all boys here, and I'm a girl.' Lucky was crying inside.
"Sir... isn't there any other option? I mean, Young Master has a big heart... he must have other brutal ways to punish me...Right? Can't we find another way?" When Lucky couldn't think of anything else, she looked at Rakesh for help.
"You should be grateful that Young master didn't shoot you right there."
"He... He can do that too? Is this really allowed here?" Lucky asked, swallowing hard.
"Yupp... there's still time. Tell the truth, and you'll be free from all troubles."
"What truth should I tell when there's nothing?" Lucky replied with frustration.
"For the first time I had a chance to watch a live wrestling match. But you had to ruin all the fun. Its Okay, if you don't want to do wrestling." Rakesh got up from his place and handed a big thick stick to one of the wrestlers.
"Take good care of him. Hit him ten times, and make sure the sound of the hits reaches far."
Lucky sighed in relief. Whatever it was, it was better than wrestling. But as soon as the first hit landed on her back, she saw stars in broad daylight. She let out a scream, and Rakesh laughed.
"Just one hit, and you're already in bad shape? A while ago, you were hitting Young master with sticks... Now you will taste of your own karma." Than he instructed to the person who was beating her, "Hit him harder, didn't you eat today?" Rakesh scolded the wrestler, and he hit Lucky with full force this time. After only five paddle, Lucky's vision went dark from the pain.
"Is he dead? Bring him to his senses?" Rakesh signaled, and the wrestler threw a glass of water on Lucky's face. Lucky immediately opened her eyes, and the hits started raining down on her again. Lucky cursed the moment she had beaten Virat with a stick. She hadn't hit him that hard at all. But his people had literally crushed her bones and showed her no mercy. Rakesh brought her back in front of Virat.
Virat was sitting on a big chair in the garden, cleaning his double-barreled gun. Lucky was in too much pain so she could barely stood there. At the moment when Lucky saw him with that antique gun it feels like the person in front of her is an old-time hunter who had come to this world specifically to hunt her.
"I'm asking for the last time. Tell the truth about your relationship with Rajshree. I promise I'll let you go."
"I... I'm telling the truth. I met her here for the first time. There was no relationship between us." Lucky replied with great difficulty. Rakesh had proven his loyalty by thoroughly beating Lucky, and now every bone in her body was aching. Virat angrily slammed the gun on the table.
"Then why were you crying as if you had lost someone close to you? Tell the truth, or I'll cut your tongue with this knife." Virat threatened, placing a fruit knife on Lucky's neck.
"Your Highness please show some mercy to me... how will I speak without a tongue?"
"No problem... if not the tongue, you will still have hands. You can write and explain your words to me. But if you still don't confess, I'll have your hands cut off too. After that the only option you will have is begging at some crossroads." Virat grabbed her collar and looked into her eyes. Lucky was terrified by his threats. Seeing her still silent, Virat's anger increased.
"Take him away and cut his tongue to feed the crows." Virat ordered Rakesh. As soon as Rakesh took a step towards her, Lucky gets panicked and immediately kneeled down and grabbed Virat's feet.
"I'll tell you... I'm ready to tell the truth."
Who can trust these crazy princes of the tyrant family? Hearing Rakesh's cannon story had already scared Lucky. Now, what if Virat really cut her tongue...? Rakesh looked at Virat, and a victorious smile appeared on his lips. Both of them had deliberately played this game to scare Lucky, and it was going perfectly according to their plan.
"Sir, it's not what you think. Actually... actually, the thing is, I took a shortcut to get the job here. I gave a hefty bribe to get hired in this palace. But i am very poor. where would I get so much money? So I took a lot of loans for it. I was hired here to help Rajshree madam. When she's not here, it was certain that I will lose my job. Thinking of losing my job and my money makes me crying in agony." Lucky looked at him, sobbing. "If you don't believe me, you can ask the master chef mr ghunguru. I gave him 20,000 rupees too." Lucky emphasized her point.
"You used such a wrong way to enter the mansion? I had doubts about your intentions from the beginning. Do you know this is a serious crime and you can be jailed for this?"
"I swear... I had no wrong intentions. Working in this mansion was my childhood dream. My only mistake was that I used a shortcut to fulfill my dream. Please forgive me this time, I'll do whatever you say." Lucky pleaded, hoping that Virat's heart would melt and he wouldn't fire her. Virat thought for a few moments. Meanwhile, a small dog with big furs came from somewhere and started moving and sniffing in circles around Lucky.
"Disco... come here." Virat called, and the dog immediately climbed into his lap, wagging its tail.
"I don't feel like trusting you, but I'm giving you a chance. I won't fire you. You will do your job as before. But within this month, you have to find out who tried to kill Rajshree. I suspect that whoever it is, is inside the mansion. Find him and prove your innocence."
"Your Highness, I'm a chef... not a CBI officer. How am I suppose to find a criminal. That too within a month? How is it possible?"
"You have only one month to prove your innocence. If the real killer doesn't come forward, I'll assume you are the criminal. And don't be under the illusion that I'll hand you over to the police. I'll punish you in my way. I will bury you alive in this mansion. No one will know where you disappeared." Virat threatened her. Lucky looked at him with fear. She had no other choice apart of accepting his proposal.
"From today, Disco will stay with you all the time. So you don't make any more mistakes. This is a specially trained dog, to catch thieves. He will help you. But..." Virat paused. By now, Disco had also gotten off his lap and started circling around Lucky again. Lucky looked at Virat in fear.
"But..."
"But if at any time during this month, I see Disco suspecting or barking at you, I'll assume you're the culprit I'm looking for."
"What????" Lucky looked at Virat with her mouth open. "What kind of decree is this? Your highness, he's a dog, not a cuckoo. It is his nature to bark at every second to everyone. Infact he only opens his mouth so that he could bark. How does his barking prove me guilty?"
"That's not my problem..." Virat replied indifferently.
"But...." Lucky tried to protest again, but Rakesh stopped her in the middle.
"Shut up..! Didn't you hear Disco is a specially trained dog? He doesn't bark at just anyone. Counting The number of crimes you've done, you should be thankful that we haven't handed you to the police. Instead of thanking Sir, you're arguing with him here?"
Lucky understood it was better to stay quiet. She looked at Disco, who was inspecting her from every angle. She didn't know what connection she had with dogs that they kept coming after her. Lucky let out a deep sigh of frustration.
"Okay fine... it's the time to disco..."
To be continued...
