Everybody believed that everything would go back to normal and everything would be alright. Nobody thought that that night would be the start and end of everything.

Brooke woke up with a smile upon her face. She’s too excited to see Luke once again. She wants to tell Leslie that they got back together and that this time, it’s for good. She wanted to do a lot of things and she didn’t know where to start.

She took a bath, fixed her things and went straight to the dining area to wait for her breakfast. This morning, she would be eating sausage, egg and rice which are her favorites.

“Why does this day seem so special Mom?” Lacey smiled at the question of Brooke.

“I don’t know either. Just eat your breakfast and go to school alright?”

“Yes Mom.” Brooke continued eating her breakfast and went straight to her car. She even asked her driver to drive a little bit faster than usual just to go to school at once.

“Damn. What’s happening? I need to arrive at school now.”

“There’s a car accident on the next street that’s why there’s traffic. Sorry Ma’am.”

“It’s alright. We can’t do anything about right?” Brooke sighed and plugged in her earphones and listened to some music. She doesn’t like waiting for a very long time while doing nothing and listening to music is the only way to loosen her up.

Slowly, Brooke’s car started to move once again. The traffic is being managed well. Brooke took a peek at the car that caused the traffic and she saw that the whole car is wrecked. Brooke shook her head and continued listening to the music on her iPod.

The moment Brooke arrived at her school, she looked for Luke. She was too excited to show the whole school that she and Luke are together. She was too excited to introduce Luke to her friends formally. She was too excited to kiss and hug Luke tightly.

But minutes have passed and Luke isn’t there yet. They agreed that they would go to school early. They wanted to catch up with things that they have missed when they were apart. They wanted to spend more time together.

Brooke tried to call Luke’s number for God knows how long but Luke didn’t pick up. Brooke started to feel uneasy but she knows she can’t do anything since she’s at school already. So she decided to wait for Luke.

After a couple of minutes, Leslie arrived and somehow, Brooke’s mood became lighter. Somehow, she managed to smile even if she’s still worried about Luke.

“What happened to you yesterday? I kept on calling you but you didn’t answer. I’m so worried! I thought Luke did something to you.” Leslie told Brooke.

“Actually, something happened.”

“Wait. What?! What did he do to you? Are you hurt? Tell me Brooke. I’m so going to punch him straight in that face the moment I see him.”

“Well, we got back together.” Leslie closed her eyes and shook her head in disbelief. She couldn’t believe the things that Brooke has said.

“What the hell? Are you freaking serious? In any way, did he threaten you?”

“Hell no! I just realized that I should give us a chance. Come on. He’s my first love, first kiss, first everything. I can’t let go of our love that easily. Besides, he promised that he won’t repeat what he did before, though… Ugh. Never mind.”

“Though what? Brooke, spill the beans, NOW.”

“Ugh. I knew I shouldn’t have said those things. Let’s go somewhere private.”

“How about my car?”

“Alright. Let’s go.” Brooke and Leslie walked going to the parking lot and went inside Leslie’s car. Good thing Leslie drives her own car so she doesn’t need to take her driver away.

The moment Leslie and Brooke were inside the car, Leslie started the interrogation process.

“Tell me. What on earth happened between you and Luke?!”

“Geez. Couldn’t you lower your voice? You could be heard by the people around!”

“Duh? My car is soundproof. Now, answer my question!”

“Yeah, yeah. Someone kidnapped my yesterday.” Brooke quoting the word kidnapped, said. Leslie panicked and got a hold of Brooke’s arms.

“What?! You got kidnapped? How? Where? Who did that?”

“Hey, one question at a time please? Someone, no some people grabbed me by the waist and covered my eyes. I was at the old building of the school that time. I don’t know the people who kidnapped me.”

“Wait. I think I know the mastermind.”

“Well, yeah. It’s him. But he didn’t do that to hurt me or my feelings.”

“If that’s the case, then what did he do to you?”

“Hmm. Quoting the words of the kidnappers, I have to say that he brought me to paradise.” Brooke said, not looking at Leslie. A smile formed on upon her face and she started to blush.

“What the hell? You did it again?!”

“Hey! Not again. Cause the first one’s improper. This time, I have to say that it’s done with love.”

“Geez. How could you say those words right now? Were you looking at his eyes when you did that thing?”

“Err. No because I was blindfolded.”

“See? He just fooled you!”

“No, he didn’t. Trust me. I know the feeling.”

“Yeah, right. Whatever you say Brooke. But please do remember that if ever he does something bad to you, I’m just a phone call away alright?”

“Yes ma’am!” Brooke said while saluting to Leslie. The two of them laughed at what Brooke did and then they continued talking about what happened that night.

When the two of them decided to go to their respective classes, Brooke noticed that Luke’s car is not at the parking lot yet. She got worried again and so she tried to call Luke’s number. But Luke is still not picking up.

“Ugh. Where could he be?”

“Who?” Leslie asked.

“Luke. We told each other to meet early today but until now, he’s not here. I wonder what happened to him.”

“Maybe he just overslept or something. Just wait for him later. We’ll be late for our class already.”

“Alright then.” Brooke and Leslie went straight to their classes. Their teachers and not yet there so Brooke decided to call Luke again. Still, Luke didn’t pick up.

Brooke was become anxious as the minutes pass by. She kept on texting and calling Luke but she got no response. When she was about to cut her afternoon class to check on Luke, someone came in their room to break the news.

“Excuse me, is Brooke Mitchell here?” Everyone in the room turned to see the person who’s looking for Brooke. To their surprise, he was a policeman.

“Brooke, why is a policeman looking for you?” Leslie asked Brooke.

“I have no idea.” Brooke said then she stood up and went straight to the policeman.

“Are you Brooke Mitchell?”

“Yes but could we talk somewhere private first?”

“Sure ma’am.” Brooke and the policeman went to the coffee shop in their school. Brooke took a seat and avoided the gaze of the man in front of him.

“Why were you looking for me?”

“By any chance, do you know Luke Nichols?” Brooke looked up and faced the policeman.

“H-how did you know Luke?”

“Are you his girlfriend?”

“Yes but please answer my question. How did you know Luke?”

“Mr. Nichols met an accident last night. He’s in a very critical condition right now and he could be leaving us any minute from now.”

“Y-you’re lying! Luke told me we would meet each other today. Y-you’re a liar!” Tears fell down from Brooke’s eyes. The policeman held Brooke’s hand and tried to comfort her but that didn’t help. Brooke got hysterical and she ran out of the coffee shop, still crying.

The policeman ran after Brooke and tried to stop her from running away. She pulled Brooke’s arm and let her face him. Brooke was still crying and her hands started to shake.

“I-I want to see him.”

“Calm down Ms. Mitchell. Let’s get your things first then we’ll straight to the hospital.” Brooke just nodded and let the policeman lead the way.
