The Girl Who Runs With Wolves
"The story starts off with a baby girl. She was only eighteen months, her name is Hope.
The story goes that Hope's family was killed in an accident. What kind? Some say car accident, others say they were killed by an animal, and a few believe she was actually abandoned.
The truth...No one knows. Not even Hope.
Anyway, it's said that a traveling wolf pack came across little Hope. The pack at the time seemed to consist of sixteen wolves.
As the wolves passed, a few saw something in Hope and took her with them.
There are many holes in the story, though one thing is known that studies show animals can sense character in humans. The wolves must have sensed that Hope needed help and that she had good character..."
I stopped writing. Taking a moment I deleted a few words, before rephrasing the last sentence.
"...The wolves must have sensed that Hope needed help and has a great character, seeing as wolves are protective. They could have left Hope, if not for her character..."
I paused again, nodding in acceptance for the last sentence.
Before I could start typing again, my wife came downstairs.
"Good morning." She greeted, her light brown hair still wet from her shower.
"Good morning." I replied, distracted on thinking of the next line.
"What are you doing." She asked, breaking the few moments of confused silence on her part.
"Writing that story I was telling you about." I looked up. "My dream. The one that changes a few lives." I smiled slightly.
She tilted her head, smiling slightly. "What was it about again?" She asked, her brown eyes sparkling.
"About a girl who was rescued by wolves at a young age. At the age of seven, she met a boy who was eight and they met every year in the same spot. The boy realized she had been raised by wolves when he was seventeen, though before then he helped her with her education. They end up getting married. Remember?" I asked, smiling as my wife blushed slightly.
"I don't want that information public." She stated, as she opened the fridge. I'm pretty sure she was hiding her blush...
A noise came from outside the door.
"It seems they're early." She stated, closing the fridge door.
I raised an eyebrow. "Your family here for breakfast?" I asked, staring at the door.
"No. They're picking my up to get breakfast." She replied, getting her coat on.
She walked out the door, before pausing. "You going to say hi?" She looked back and looked at me. Without waiting for an answer she left out the door, knowing I would go out there.
I shook my head at my wife. My first love (and only love) has the name Hope. Her favorite pastime? Running with wolves.
So, in my opinion...
I looked through the curtains of the house. As I watched more wolves surround my wife, I wrote the last sentence.
"...There is a girl out there who runs with wolves...And, she's the first person I helped with education and in return she helped me in understanding nature."
I smiled, before closing the laptop and going out the door. I didn't care about the wolves, because they were the ones to let me marry Hope in the first place.
"You coming?" Hope asked, turning towards me with a big smile on her face.
"You go." I stood back, waiting for the first ones to take off.
I watched as my wife and her pack run to the woods, smiles all around as they enjoyed the rushing wind. I shook my head, 'Show offs...'.
Wolves can hit thirty-five miles an hour in a sprint, and that's what it looks like they're doing.
I sighed, turning and heading into the head with one last thought...
'...The Girl Who Runs With Wolves...It makes a great title...'
THE END.
