Chapter 7 He is One Determined Boy

Luka's POV:

He took her into a room and laid her on a bed. He held her hand.

He refused to leave her side.

He decided to keep watch over her.

The poor girl was exhausted. He was sure of it as much as he was certain she was shocked to have heard the truth. He had told her the man died all those years ago from being stabbed not drowned.

He also told her had found him first. She seemed stunned and started to breathe funny.

That is why, he had set her on the bed and remained with her. He put a washcloth on her head. He held her hand. He whispered, "Marinette, I am here."

He called for help and explained what happened. The response team on the other end said they would come as soon as possible. He heard the phone go dead.

Luka noticed her breathing was getting worse and worse. He had to do something to save her.

He carried her outside and did not stop until he was on his motorcycle. He climbed onto it and fastened his helmet. He positioned her in a way to keep her from falling off and made sure she had the extra helmet on her head.

"Hold on Marinette, stick with me, I am taking you somewhere so you can get help," Luka said. He drove to the hospital. The motorcycle got stuck in the mud. He turned the engine off.  He got off and picked her up. He gently carried her up the steps and to the emergency room. "Please, help her. Don't let her die," He pleaded with the doctors and nurses.

He wasn't sure why, but he was determined not to lose her. He knew she hated him, but he did not hate her. He saw them rush Marinette into the operating room. He watched in fright as they did all they could for her. He sobbed when they rolled her out into another room.

He entered it. He held her hand. "Marinette, it is me, Luka," He said.

Luka did not say anything else. He stayed with her. He grew tired and fell asleep by her side.

Everyone who passed by the door to the room saw the young boy keeping the young girl company. They all thought it rather sad.

Adrien who hadn't been that good a friend to her, heard what happened. He felt bad he hadn't been here for her when she needed him. He was a bad friend. He entered the room and saw her unconscious. He saw the wires hooked up to her and Luka beside her.

"Marinette, I am sorry. I was never right for you. I was a bad friend, but Luka was always there for you. Wake up, for him if not for anyone else. I know he loves you," Adrien said.

He stood by unsure what else to say. He was stunned by the whole thing. He felt tears fall.  "Why wasn't I a better friend?"
