Y/N's P.O.V

We got on Tails' plane and flew to our next destination: Chun Nan. Thank god! The wind was so refreshing to me. It felt nice except for the take off. Sonic would keep on looking back at me every once in while. I kinda started to question it but I brushed it off and enjoyed the view. I wonder what he's thinking...

Sonic's P.O.V (yeah, we're doing this again)

I keep looking back at her to check if she's okay. So far she's perfectly fine and not getting captured every few minutes.

She went through a terrible childhood with powers, making me worried. And she's hiding something from us and that's making me more worried. Tails knows it too. I get that it's personal and a touchy subject for her but she needs to understand that she can trust us. Hopefully, she will open to us soon.

Y/N's P.O.V

We finally made it to Chun Nan in a, slightly, bumpy landing. Chun Nan looked absolutely amazing. It felt like you were in ancient China. I guess in a way you kinda are. I've never been to China, or any other place besides home and school, so to be in Chun Nan is such an experience. Heh, I guess this whole adventure is.

It was such a surreal sight to see and the people here were so nice and welcoming. I actually wanted to try some of their food here. Better to do it now than never. Sonic and Tails agreed, since we haven't eaten anything. We ate some dumplings with some rice. I've never used chopsticks before so I was having some difficulty. I got the hang of it though. We even started to fight over the last dumpling! That was fun! Spending time with them made me forget all of my worries and fears. For once I could relax and be happy. I still wish I brought my phone to take pictures.

I decided to get some food on the go for our journey. Sonic was glad to pay for the food since I didn't have any money. "Are you sure, Sonic?" I asked. He handed the money to the cashier. "It's no problem at all." Sonic said. I smiled a little. No one would do this for me at home.

We walked out with a bag of food in my hand. Tails was waiting for us outside and when he saw us he walked alongside us. We were making our way to the temple when Sonic and Tails had a happy look on their face. "Kim!" They yelled before sprinting over to a green rabbit. The rabbit turned around and I got a good look at her features. She had blue eyes and wearing glasses. Her right ear was flopped down while her left ear was left up. She wore a blue jacket with a Japanese-styled body suit. She had rings on along with a bracelet and blue shoes in the style of Sonic's red ones.

She looked happy to see Sonic and Tails. "Hey guys!" She said. I quickly caught up to them as they started to fist bump. "How are you Kim?" Sonic asked. "I'm doing good." She then looked at me. I waved hello at her. She smiled and walked up to me. "Hey! Nice to meet you. I'm Kim. Kim The Rabbit. What's your name?" She asked. "I'm Y/N. Nice to meet you too." I said while sticking out my hand. She gladly shook it.

"So, what have you guys been up to?" Kim asked. "Oh, we've been traveling to the Gaia Temples to get the Chaos Emeralds to send Y/N back home." Tails explained. "Oh, your not from around here?" Kim asked me. I shook my head no. "Well, I hope you return home safely." Kim said. "Thanks." I thanked. She gave me a friendly smile.

Suddenly, he expression changed from friendly to concern. Her eyes looked like they changed from blue to a sapphire blue, kinda like a wolf's eyes in a snowy forest, before it went back to blue. "Listen, I have to go right now. You know what to do if you need me." Kim said with urgency in her voice. "Don't worry, Kim. We got everything under control. Now go." Sonic said. "Alright, bye guys! Bye Y/N!" She said before rushing off behind a building. I guess I made a new friend, but what was all of that with the eyes? Did that happen or is my mind playing tricks on me?

When Sonic and Tails weren't looking, I went to look for her behind the building. But it lead to a dead end. What!? How did she-!? I shook it off and went back to Sonic and Tails. Maybe I will find out sooner or later.

Sonic sped by the day stage for Chun Nan while me and Tails flied; Tails by his two tails and me by my blaster. I would occasionally block out spears that would try to hit Sonic. I would hum the music for the stage. I've always enjoyed this stage. I would play it over and over again and still get an "S" rank.

We made our way to the temple after Sonic completed the stage. "This one should be easy. The guardian of this temple should let us in." Sonic said while we walked. Oh yeah! The giant bird! I've always wanted to meet it and see it's pretty feathers! I guessed I'll get the chance right now. I decided to hum the Chun Nan hub music for night time. To set the mood and to fill silence. When I was done, Tails was the first to speak. "Wow Y/N! You have a really good humming voice!" Tails complemented. I scratched the back of my head and chuckled nervously. "Thanks Tails."

We finally made it to the temple and the area was such an astounding sight to see. Like I said before, this place had an ancient vibe to it. We looked up and saw the guardian on top on the temple. It looked magnificent than in the game. But, something was... off. I could feel it and so did Sonic and Tails. This could only mean one thing. We all looked at each other and we were all thinking it.
