Potter?
I stared at the door for almost a minute. Mr. Dumbledore gave me a strange look. "Are you going to go inside?" He questioned.
I signed, "I guess I don't have much of an option." I knocked. A girl opened it. The first thing I noticed was the hair. Blazing red, down to her waist. When I looked at her fully, I realized she was around my age. She had a look of confusion on her face. "Not to be rude," she starts, "but do I know you?"
"Not that I'm aware of." I reply. Her shoulders slump with relief. Then she sees Harry, and I could swear I see her face light up. Then she blushes. "Hi Harry," she says. Harry smiles. "Mum!" Ginny shouts, "Harry, Dumbledore and some strange girl are here!" I hear scampering feet and someone with even redder hair shows up at the door. If that's possible.
She smiles at me. "Hello Harry dear, Professor Dumbledore. And who might you be?"
"Heather Dursley," I say quickly, and I give Mr. Dumbledore a short glance telling him that's my real name. "Actually," Dumbledore says, "that's Heather Potter." The lady gasps.
"Heather? You should be dead!" She exclaims.
I half-smile. "Yeah, I've been getting that a lot. I have absolutely no idea what's happening here. Can someone please explain?"
We walk inside. To the right, I see the kitchen. Not just a kitchen, though. I looked closer. I saw pots and pans washing themselves. I saw silverware putting itself away. Plates and bowls were drying themselves. Oh my God. I'm going insane.
We reach the living room. I look around to check for any pianos playing themselves, or brooms sweeping themselves. Nope. Check. We sit on a couch. Normal, I think. Three boys and an older man joined us. "Heather! It's good to know you made it here safely," then seeing my confused face, he says, "No, you don't know me." I sigh in relief.
"Heather, we're going to tell you a story. Not an everyday fairytale. Most people think it is though," Dumbledore starts, "Once upon a time, there was a girl named Lily. She grew up like any other witch would. She went to Hogwarts, feel in love, and got married. She married a wonderful man named James." Newt jumped up into my lap. Dumbledore continued. "Lily got pregnant. Soon, a beautiful baby boy was born. But here's the part people don't know. The boy had a twin. A twin sister. Everyone was happy at that moment. But there was a prophecy. I'm not going to tell you, because believe it or not, you've heard it before."
My neck seared in pain. I didn't realize that the scar from when Dudley stabbed me with a knife still hurt until now. Dumbledore went on, "A terrible person heard this prophecy and felt threatened. He killed the children's parents. Everyone thinks it was the mother's love that protected the boy. But no. The little girl had found her mother's wand and started swinging it around. A powerful protection spell was cast, right before the unforgivable curse was. The man directed it the girl. It hit her neck, bounced off of it, and Hit the boy in the head. The girl saved the boy." Dumbledore stared at me, as if trying to figure something out. "That boy's name was Harry."
I dreaded his next words. It can't be true.
"And that girl's name," Dumbledore closed his eyes. "was Heather."
