The First Six Months
*takes place in May of 2004 . . .the beginning at least
As promised, once mid-February rolled around, Nova returned to practice. James and Jade would stay with Molly while Nova was at practice.
Andromeda insisted she could take care of them, but she was growing weaker. Her time on Earth was growing short. However, instead of being afraid, Andy didn't care. She didn't want to leave Teddy behind, but she'd see Ted and Dora again.
James, as expected, quickly took to being a Mumma's Boy. When his mother was around, he was a perfect angel. When she wasn't, he was a hurricane.
Jade loved both of her parents. While she didn't cause as many problems openly as James did, she already proved to be a troublemaker. Nova prayed for the day the two set off to Hogwarts with the Marauders Map and cloak to annoy their father and Minnie.
Speaking of Minnie, she nearly cried at the sight of them. She officially lost all composure when Nova referred to her as 'Grandmum Minnie'.
The Burrow has become an unofficial daycare center. Molly, who loved children, insisted all her grandchildren were delivered to the Burrow during the hours they worked. This meant almost-six-year-old Victoire, six-month-old Roxanne, four-month-old Potter Twins, and three-month-old baby Fred (George and Lilly's son) were all at the Burrow.
In the years to come, Roxane, James, Jade, Fred, Marco Zabini-Nott (adopted son of Theo and Blaise), and Elyse Wood (Oliver's daughter and Nova's goddaughter) would become known as the Golden Marauders.
Merlin help the Hogwarts staff.
Even if Roxanne didn't participate in as many pranks as her friends did, she wasn't Fred Weasley's daughter for nothing. Not to mention, the group of six would have access to the Cloak of Invisibility, the Marauders Map, Nova's tips, and Weasley Wizard Wheezes.
There's also the fact they're Gen Z kids.
Before going to the Burrow to retrieve her kids, Nova stopped at Gringotts.
"How can I assist you, Nova?" a goblin asked he wore a banker's striped suit and looked malicious.
As the author mentioned before, Nova had a surprisingly decent relationship with the goblins.
"I was just wondering if you transferred the two hundred galleons I requested to the Weasley family vault," Nova stated.
"Yes. Every two weeks. Just as you requested, Mrs. Potter," the goblin said pleasantly.
"Thank you," Nova grinned. "Molly Weasley knows nothing of it?"
"She does not," he clarified.
"Thank you, Talon," Nova nodded. "Have a wonderful."
Molly Weasley refused to accept any money Nova tried giving her in return for the hours she spends babysitting. This lead to Lilly, Roxanne, Fleur, and Nova coming up with a system. Seeing as Nova has the best relationship with goblins, she'd transfer the money from her vault to the Weasley vault and the others would pay her in turn.
Fleur could easily do this herself by working at Gringotts, but people would ask questions. Goblins didn't gossip about it and they definitely don't talk to wizards. The last thing they need is a nosy report telling Molly.
"Don't forget, Mrs. Weasley," Nova reminded as she picked up her children. "Dinner is at Potter Manor this Sunday."

"Harry!" Nova called as she fed a six-month-old Jade her bananas. "Can you get James?"
There was a faint replay and Nova went back to feeding her daughter.
"Morning, Mum," Teddy greeted as he climbed onto one of the bar stools that stood at the island.
"Goodmorning, Teddy Bear," Nova said. "How'd you sleep?"
"Mum, I'm eight." Teddy huffed. "You can't call me 'Teddy Bear' anymore."
"Is that so?" Nova raised a brow. "Then what do I call you?"
"Edward," Teddy declared. "It's sophisticated and it's my government name."
"Okay, Edward," Nova teased.
Teddy took a bite of his Lucky Charms before speaking again.
"Mum," he began. "What are you going to do if I'm not in Gryffindor?"
"Teddy, you aren't going to Hogwarts for another three years," Nova stated as she wiped Jade's face, freeing it of mashed bananas.
"I know," he said shyly. "But I just wanted to know."
"Harry nor myself care what house you're in, Teddy," Nova said softly, meeting his honey eyes with her own. "Harry and myself were both nearly sorted into Slytherin. Your mother was in Hufflepuff, so was a friend of mine. Your Uncles Blaise and Theo were in Slytherin. Cho and Aunt Luna are in Ravenclaw. It doesn't matter what house you go into, Teddy. You're still Teddy Lupin."
"You won't be mad if I'm not in Gryffindor? Like my dad?"
"No," Nova said. "I won't be mad. Teddy, you are your own person. You aren't Pa. You aren't Dora. You aren't me. You aren't Harry. You're Teddy. The best advice I can ever give you is to be yourself."
"So you won't hate me?"
"No," Nova chuckled. "I won't hate you."
Back upstairs James was making it exceedingly difficult for his father.
James, being the little troublemaker he is, took off his diaper when Harry moved to grab his clothes.
"Come on, James," Harry pleaded. "It's the start of summer! Just wear your damn diaper."
James peed and it sprayed Harry in the face.
"Go, baby!" the Heaven Crew cheered.
"Revenge sure is sweet," James grinned. "That, son, is what you get for peeing on me."
James Sirius started gurgling and giggling. He seemed proud of himself.
"Scourgify," Harry whispered. With the wave of his wand, James's urine mess was gone. "Nice try, Jamesie."
James frowned with a disappointed expression.
Harry picked his son up and walked down the stairs the kitchen.
"Mum," Teddy began to ask. "Can I go to my friend's house over the summer?"
"Which friend?" Nova asked as she and Harry traded children so she could feed James.
"Kaleb," Teddy answered. "I know he can't come here because of everything magical, but he said he'd call to invite me to spend the night."
"Most likely," Nova nodded.
Once Teddy makes friends at Hogwarts, Nova would be more than happy to allow them to stay at Potter Manor. It's a simple fact that they can't risk anything with the muggles.
"Thanks, Mum," Teddy grinned. "Good luck at your game today!"

"We won!" Jaron cheered in the backyard of Potter Manor. "That's the third year in a row we won the World Cup!"
James, Jade, and Elyse threw their hands up in celebration. Ryan, Oliver and Alicia's son, was too invested in playing with his baby toy quaffle to notice.
The Puddlemere United Quidditch team and the players' families all met at Potter Manor for lunch fhr following day. It was a small get together but it was worth it.
"Hell yeah!" Tyler cheered. His brown eyes drifted to something in the distant. "Nox, there's a person that just came out of your house."
Everyone's eyes drifted to the man that walked through the back door. It was a man Nova hasn't seen in many years. A man that held much resemblance to her father. A man that decided to spend years in the mountains.
"Pops!" Nova exclaimed with a grin.
"'Ello, Lion," he greeted.
"Looking a bit ragid there aren't you?" Nova teased pointing to his grey beard he was growing out.
"The joys of the wilderness!" He grinned. "Look at you! I leave for a few months and you've given birth, got married, and became a big shot Quidditch star!"
By now everyone had gone back to their conversations, leaving the two to converse in private.
"That was six years ago," Nova said coldly. "Pa died and you left. Teddy doesn't even know who you are. I thought you died or something. I wanted to ask you to walk me down the isle, but you were battling to bears or whatever the hell you befriended in the woods."
"She's got a point," Regulus stated.
"Nova," Lyall Lupin tried to justify. "I already lost Hope, your grandmother. Then I lost a son-in-law and my own son. I need time to cope."
"That’s fair. . . I guess," Remus shrugged.
"Did you happen to get lost in the woods?" Nova sassed as she folded her arms over her chest. "It took a rather long time for you to find your way back home."
"I want her to be nice, but she's got a point," Sirius said with furrowed brows.
"Roast his arse, Lion!" Remus shouted.
"I traveled the world. It's something I've always wanted to do," Lyall reached his wrinkling hand into his coat pocket, withdrawing a stack of post cards. "I got them for you and Teddy. I just never got a chance to mail them."
Nova's face softened and she instantly felt bad for snapping. However, it wasn't right of him to forget about his family.
"I just wished you sent a letter," Nova huffed.
"So . . .do I get to meet my great grandkids and grandchild?" Lyall asked hopefully.
"I guess," Nova nodded. "But if yoi even think about disappearig off of the face of the Earth again, I will hunt you down and murder you. I will murder you so hard I'll make Bellatrix look like an amateur."
Lyall visibly gulped.
Nova lead him back to the group.
"Everyone, this is my Pops or Lyall Lupin. He is of the more pleasurable of my grandparents." Nova began. As she continued, she pointed to each person in turn. "Pops, meet my team! There's Ginny, whom you already know. That's Oli. This is Jackson, Tyler, and Jaron. And that back there pretending to be invisible is Falen. I would hope you remember the Weasleys. This is Alicia, Oli's wife. There's Angie and Lilly, they're willing put up with the Twins bullshit."
"I'm offended," George declared, placing a hand over his heart.
"WHERE'S MY GODDAUGHTER?" Theo demanded as he swaggered up to the table with a lazy grin on his face.
Giggles erupted from the blanket the children were sitting on.
Roxanne's skin contrasted against the other children's, not that anyone cared. Her hair was a dark brown with red undertones. Her dark brown eyes shone with amusement and a hint of trouble.
Freddie, what everyone nicknamed George's son for distinction, sat next to James with a wicked grin on his pale face. His eyes were a soft blue that he got from his mother as apposed to her father's brown eyes. His red hair was begining to curl at the ends.
Elyse, the youngest of the group, was giggling along side Jade. Her hair was the same mousy brown as her father's rather than the slick blonde locks her mother had. However, she the most vibrant blue eyes, similar to her mother's.
James already proved to have hair easier to tame than his father. Instead of resting in a messy mound on the top of his head, it curls slightly. His eyes matched his mother's perfectly; amber, almost the same color of melted honey.
While Nova's caramel hair held a slight wave, Jade's did not despite being a lighter version of her mother's (everyone assumed it would darken over the years . . .and it did). Her eyes were darker than an evergreen forest. They were the color of emeralds and nothing else.
"Pops," Nova began as she levitated her two children to come towards them. "This is Jade Hermione." Nova motioned towards her daughter. "Anf this is James Sirius."
"Mum!" Teddy ran up to Nova without sparing Lyall a glance. "What if there is an alien inside Uncle Percy?"
"Fred. George. Stop lying to Teddy," Nova ordered with a roll of her eyes.
"It's only the truth, Nox!"
"So there isn't an alien inside Uncle Percy?" Teddy frowned.
"No. A real alien wouldn't want to be inside of him," Nova joked.
"What 'bout Uncle Dray?"
"Definitely," Nova nodded seriously. "It's the hair gel. There's too much of it for him to be human."
"So . . .does that make Sirius an alien?" Marlene teased.
Sirius made an offended gasp as be clutched his heart.
"I don't wear gel! It messes up my hair!" He objected with dignity.
Teddy finally took notice to Lyall who had been watching with a fond expression.
"Who's that?"
"Teddy, this is our Pops, Lyall Lupin," Nova informed. "This Pa's dad."
"So . . .I hear you like aliens."
And so Lyall spoke to his grandson about aliens for the next two hours.
