Chapter 4

  "It was really nice having company this morning, thanks a lot." I opened the door as they walked out. They came about 3 hours ago, and we were busy laughing and talking, and enjoying the doughnuts and coffee. Who knew that these guys could be so interesting to talk with?

  "Hey, no problem." Scott said as he walked out the door, followed by Jack. "See you around kiddo."  Jack patted my head and I swatted it away playfully.

  "Hey Scott" I couldn't have him leave without a thanks.

"Yeah?"  Scott came up to me, handing jack the keys and went off to the car.

"You literally saved my life, and I really appreciate that. I don't know how much to thank you for that." 

"I'm really happy that I got to save your life, because now, I'm Scott, the knight in shinning armor, here to save you." He gives a smirk. "I'm here for you, Okay?"

I return the smile, probably even blushing, and lock my arms around his body. "Okay."  I whisper into his chest, his cologne filling my nose. Why do guys smell so good? He hugs me back, then releases. He looks down at  me, and our eyes meet. "Your my knight in shining armor." I smile, releasing, his body heat separating from mine. He pinches my check, then his back turning to me, walking towards his car. He opens his car door and steals a glance from me before the car back out from the driveway, and drifting off the road. I face the door, taking in a deep breath before walking in.

"Venti Green Tea Latte for Emily!"  I walk up to the counter and receive my drink. I head back to my seat, and sit down.

"Like you were saying."  Claire cleared her throat and took another sip of her drink. Claire is my best friend, we met during high school, and we haven't parted since then. I promised her to tell her everything that happened, and so here I am, spilling the beans.

"It was cute but funny cuz', he was like 'Because now, I'm Scott, the knight in shinning armor, here to save you!" I laughed out, trying to say it in a manly voice. ". And he also said, 'I'm here for you okay?' So I gave him a hug and said okay" I blushed. I won't ever forget this moment.  Claire was squirming in her seat, causing eyes to drop on us. "Oh my god Stop!" I laughed. 

She calmed down, almost choking on her drink. "I can't believe he said that! You guys are goals!" She playfully punched my shoulder. I laughed it off. Are we goals? We aren't even dating, so that really doesn't count. I mean he's so nice and generous, I mean he saved my life!  But I've only known his for a couple days, and I don't want to go back to what I did before. I took a long sip of my drink. 

  "But darling, you must best be careful, he may have saved you from a rapist, but that don't mean he ain't one." She winked, taking another sip from her drink. I rolled my eyes. 

"You sound like my mom. But seriously, give him a chance! He might not be as bad as my last ones." I point that out. Maybe she should give him a chance, maybe he'll be better. 

"Honey, you've only had one, and after that one, you were traumatized."

"Fine, but that doesn't mean I can't be friends with him.  Can I?"

"Why are you even asking me? I'm not your mom remember?  Plus your twenty what? besides that, you can be friends with whoever you want, and I'm not going to stop you from doing that." She sat up straight. She knows I have to move on from my past, and she's trying to help me.  That's one thing that I love about her, she here for me and she tries to protect me. That wouldn't make me selfish right? 

"Enough about me, what bout' you?" I took another sip from my drink, shaking it around.

"Nothing much really, just work and reality." She takes a sip. "Oh and my parents filed the divorce papers. It's real." Ouch. Her parents splitting hurts her a lot, but her parents really don't care. They almost put her in an orphanage when her little sister was born because they didn't like her anymore. Every feeling  hits her like a truck and puts her In a feeling coma for weeks. I feel so sorry for her, I could almost feel her pain.

"I'm sorry." I say with pity. I hope she catches that, because I love her a bunch.

"It's okay dear, I knew it was going to happen one day." She sighs and takes a last sip from her drink. She looks down at her cup and looks back at me, and smirks.

"Round 2?" She asks, pleading almost. I give her a sweet nod and get up, heading to the line to order another round of drinks. Claire and I would always come to Starbucks for drinks. We would think of it as a regular persons night out at the local bar. I remember one night we came here, for some reason, and we both had like 5 rounds of drinks. We stayed there for like 3 hours talking, almost crying even. When I look back at it now, It's so funny how we didn't think about all the money we spent at all. Just the drinks, and all the emotions pouring out.

"I think we should really go out to an actual bar, and you can invite Scott and jack, and probably some of his hot friends. Hook me up, Ya' know?" She winked, taking her last sip of her drink, and threw it in the trash.

"Yeah, I think we could do that. I have to return him a favor either way. When should we do it?" I threw my empty cup in the trash and walked out the door, followed by Claire.

"Today is Thursday. Saturday maybe? Or not?"

"I think Saturday would be great, let me just see if they can go. If they can't, we can schedule it for another day." I pulled out my car keys from my bag. She nodded and took out her car keys.

"Thanks for hanging with me Boo, I'll see ya' later." She gave me a tight hug.

"Of course, I'll call you if they can't or can go."

"Ok, I love you!" She threw me a air kiss.

"Love you too!" I waved good bye and headed back to my car. I opened the door and sat inside, closing the door.

Me- Wanna come to the bar on Saturday? You can bring some friends...

I put my seatbelt on and turned on the car.

Scott- Sure! Vicky's right? What time? Who's going?

Me- Around 6? Me and m best friend Claire are going, and yes it's at Vicky's

Scott- Great! I'll bring Jack with me, kinda like a double date ;))))))

Me- Hmmm ok, What ever you say, Knight in shining armor. :)

I back out of the parking space and Drive out of the Starbucks parking. I have to text Claire that they are coming, when I get home of course. Double date......
