The New Lavinia Part 50

Author Note: The Girl Who Fell Out of the Ocean is currently un-edited and is still raw

Andy Gregory's Room at Bishop Gilbert Halls of Residence, Room 11  - The University of Chichester- Present Day.

Andy was looking at her face in her small bedroom mirror she had thought on a number of occasions how it was insufficient for her needs. She was the kind of girl who needed at least one full-length mirror and a face mirror if she was to feel that she had properly readied herself.

She continued down this line of thought as she looked at her almost perfect face in her small bedroom mirror and all the while squashed behind her was her friend Roxanne, she was plastering on her lipstick like she would not get the chance to re-apply and her heart shaped lips began to get redder and redder.

Eventually, Roxanne was satisfied and the small room was filled with a smacking sound and Roxanne proceeded to pout playfully at Andy. Squashed into her small halls bedroom along with herself and Roxanne was Sam who was sitting on her bed with his friends Claude the tall, dark and dreamy member of their group and Alex. Alex, who was also tall almost too tall in Andy mind, he had an awkward air about him and seemed to be constantly fidgeting.

Claude, Alex and Sam seemed to be guarding the alcohol of which there was a lot, it was cheap hideous stuff, but they didn't care, all they were interested in was drinking it, as soon as possible and in the most unique fashion they could muster.

"Drinking game?" Said Roxanne smacking her lips together again in an attempt to show off her perfect pout, she flicked her long dark hair over her shoulder as she sat down next to the boys.

Andy looked away from the mirror for a moment only having to open her mouth slightly before Sam knew what she was going to say.

"I think Andy wants to wait for our sister, go ahead though guys, we just want to be sober when she arrives."

"If she arrives," mumbled Andy, it wasn't like Lavinia hadn't let them down before.

Sam shot her a glance.

There was a knock at the door the group's eyes turned to Andy waiting for her to answer it, but before her hand hit the handle the small door swung open revealing Lavinia.

"Siblings," she said in high pitched cry.

Lavinia stood at Andy's door arms our stretched smile spread across her face, her long hair had been perfectly curled and her makeup was primped and powdered to perfection. Andy had never seen her like this, her pale, pretty, freckly, hooded, make-up free sister was all she had ever known and now she was here, standing where she had always wanted her to, looking how she's always dreamed she would somehow something felt off.

Claude got up from the bed with vodka and some kind of miscellaneous mixer in his hand, something blue, and made his way over to Lavinia.

"Claude," he gave her his hand, his voice smooth, sultry and almost undetectably northern.

"Lavinia," she shot him her biggest brightest grin she even managed to make her eyes sparkle.

Sam watched her dumb- founded, like some alien had appeared, where was their sister should be he was worried panicked even, who was this curled, de-hooded imposter? Or Lavinia pretending to be?

"Can I take your coat?" Said Claude.

Slick bastarded thought Sam.

Sam was starting to get irritated by Claude he was after all their resident ladies' man and it had never bothered him before, perhaps because he had never made such lustrous eyes at Andy.

"Sure," Said Lavinia.

She began to slip out of her trench coat and handed it to Claude, whose eyes proceeded to nearly fall out of their sockets like a cartoon character.

"Where the fuck are your clothes," said Sam whose eyes also fell out of their sockets but not in the good way.

Lavinia just scoffed "Oh Sammy," pretending she couldn't see the horror in his eyes.

"I think she looks nice," said Andy pouring herself a weak drink, she knew she was going to have to keep her eye on things.

Lavinia was wearing small figure hugging gold hot pants and a backless cream halter neck top that showed her bare mid-drift. To top it off her long curled hair bounced down her back, while her never seen before eyelashes fluttered a dark ebony.

She seemed to be almost the same height as Sam thanks to her black six-inch stilettos and glided about the small room with ease. She took the drink known only as vodka and something blue  offered up to her by Claude and Sam gaped in horror as his tea total sister downed it and quickly then demanded another.

"Well, we're here to party right?" Grinned Lavinia, almost bouncing.

"Love your sister guys," said Claude quickly pouring her another.

Sam narrowed his eyes at Claude as his arm slyly made its way around her shoulder.

After about an hour of pre-drinking the group made noises of moving to a bar and then a club in Bognar Regis named Sheiks sometimes called Vision they never knew why. Sam was still watching Lavinia with wild eyes, not that she cared she was too busy turning the music up dancing with Claude and pouring herself another drink but, as she attempted to pour herself and Claude another Vodka and something blue the bottle clinked against the glass and they realised that the alcohol had dried up and that it was time to move on.

"Anyone called a taxi?" Said Roxanne.

"Should be here any minute," said Andy fussing about the room looking for her keys.

Roxanne pulled Andy roughly out of her room and into the kitchen that was next door.

"What's the matter with Sam he seems a bit up tight since your sister got here?" Said Roxanne opening up the kitchen cupboard and taking out some crisps, she offered one to Andy who declined.

"It's just Lavinia, she's got a lot of... problems, she's not normally like this, the life and soul you know? And now Claude's all over her I think Sam's just a little worried.

Roxanne nodded sympathetically.

"Just let it play out, what's the worst that can happen, we go out, get drunk, dance, she snogs Claude, it's not the nicest thing to bear witness to for sure but it's not like you're going to let her sleep with him," said Roxanne popping a crisp in her mouth.

Andy smiled up at her, she took a crisp, and the sparkle was back in her eyes.

"Thanks mate," said Andy with a smile.

"No worries," said Roxanne.

"Taxi," shouted Alex from the next room.

The girls trotted in their heels gathering their bags, making sure they all had the essentials.

"Everyone ready?" Said Sam as he filed them out of the room and then the halls like his children, keeping one eye on Lavinia the entire time, now her fingers had begun to entwine with Claude's, Sam sneered at him but Claude didn't seem to notice or if he did he didn't care.

The group ran with a slight wobble that they incorporated into their stride as they ran down the stairs and clambered like teenage Bambi's into the taxi that was waiting for them. Lavinia began to feel a slight thumping on her temple which she chose to ignore and proceeded to attempt to drink away. When she saw Claude's secret Vodka stash in his jacket pocket, she unscrewed the lid and took a shot and the thumping seemed to subside.

"Where too?" Said the Taxi driver.

"The Hatter's Inn, Bognor," said Alex leaning forward.

The taxi driver was distracted but the reflection of Lavinia blowing in Claude's ear and her fingers slowly climbing up his neck with no thought what so ever for the full taxi of people and the many sets of eyes  that were on them but the driver quickly gathered himself and pulled away.

"You're sexy," said Lavinia, Andy made a vomiting sound and a bad feeling hit the base of her stomach, yes her sister was finally in Chichester but something was wrong, her body was here but her soul was somewhere quite different. Andy had got everything she wanted at the start of the year, the three of them together in Chichester but as she looked at Lavinia it somehow felt like the worst thing in the world.

"Come here," said Claude pulling Lavinia onto his lap.

Sam threw his arms into the air "No, no, no, just no, get off him, sit on the seat, bum on leather please," He pulled on Lavinia's arm until she was sat back down. The taxi driver smirked.

"Sam chill," said Roxanne checking her makeup in her compact mirror.

"I will not chill, my sister is having some sort of psychotic episode turning up here like a slutty, Kylie Minogue so no I will not chill."

Lavinia's world seemed quite murky now, blurred by alcohol and Claude but she had heard and registered what her brother had said.

"This is what people do isn't it?" She spat back at him anger all of a sudden spread across her face catching Sam off guard.

"Meet boys, party, drink, have a laugh, you want me to be normal Sam, I'm being normal. You moan when I different you, you moan when I'm the same, you're going to have to except me sometime," said Lavinia who had defiantly climbed back onto Claude's lap and planted a soft kiss in the centre of his neck turning her back on a horrified Sam.

The taxi pulled up outside The Hatter's Inn but after the brief spat between Sam and Lavinia, the group decided to go straight to the club. They walked around the corner towards Sheiks and managing to polish off Claude's last remaining vodka before they approached the building.

It sat high on the end of Bognor Regis Pier with the beach, sea and waves crashing underneath the base of the building. The sea for a moment caught Lavinia off guard, the waves were high and the smell of the water was so strong she fell into being herself for a moment, and wanted nothing more than to walk down to the sea in the darkness letting the pebbles guide her way.

Lavinia's thoughts were interrupted by Claude's friend Alex raising his voice and appearing to get himself in quite the panic.

"I can't do this," said Alex stopping dead on his approach to the club, all they had to do to reach the club was walk across the pier.

"Christ sake not again," said Claude separating for the first time from Lavinia. He walked towards Alex rubbing his face in frustration.

He looked Alex dead in the eyes while the others just watched.

"What did we say?" Said Claude slowly.

Alex just shook his head his glasses bounced to the end of his nose.

"Come on mate what did we say?" Claude's voice sounding like he was talking to a child.

Alex looked as though he was really thinking about it and then said slowly with some thought "The pier is not going to collapse while we are in the club washing us out to sea, entering the club is for fun and will not lead to our imminent deaths, or probable doom." Said Alex shaking slightly.

"Good, now come on I need a drink," said Claude.

Claude pushed Alex into the queue and guided him through the club's entrance.

Alex couldn't help thinking Claude was a fool and tonight they were all going to die.
