France -1915

It was the morning my brother was leaving, Jimmy and the rest of the men from his regiment all had to get medicals to prove they were still fit for service and then they were leaving to go back to the front, back to that ghastly war. I couldn't deny I had been hiding that morning, hiding from the morning, hiding from my brother, hiding from life.

I don't think I knew how to say goodbye a second time, I didn't know, the world was collapsing around our ears, everything we knew was blowing away like ash in the wind and I couldn't watch him leave, so I didn't.

I could hear Jimmy's rowdy young regiment loading themselves into a cart that would take them away from our field hospital and back to the front. I could hear Captain Rogers gruff voice giving his orders and one by one each soldier who must have received his medical clearance was loaded into the cart. I could hear my brother talking with Captain Rogers, then their voices were promoted to a light bickering. "Please Captain," said Jimmy.

"Lance Corporal, if I've told you once I've told you a thousand times we have to be gone by ten, now get in the cart,"

I moved closer to the edge of the tent to hear their conversation clearer, I knew I should be outside, waving my brother goodbye, but I couldn't, my feet felt rooted to the floor of my tent and I made no attempt to move then onward.

"Lance Corporal," the captain said again, his voice stern, strong I imagine that voice stood him good stead commanding his regiment, the men, my brother they trusted him, there was an unwavering respect there I had never  seen Jimmy look at our father that way. And I knew when I heard the Captain's voice again that my brother had got into the cart.

"I held it for your sister for as long as I could son, but she's just not coming," the Captain's voice was sad but still strong and this time, I heard the cart squeak as he lurched his own body into the cart the men sniggering.

I heard voices, maybe Will's and Matron's wishing them well as they pulled away, my fingers played with the edge of the tent, I tugged on it for support I think, but at some point my feet stopped being led, they were air, light and fast and I ran after the cart that was pulling away from me, my brother was pulling away from me.

"Jimmy," I cried. Waving and running and my brother and Captain Rogers and all the other soldiers they looked up and cheered.

Their voices, there loud tumbling voices gave my feet all they needed to run harder, to run faster and pull myself up onto the cart and into my brother's arms. The cart slowed when it realised it had a renegade nurse aboard but did not stop and this moment of slowing, pause gave me time to say goodbye to my brother like I should have done in the first place i stead of cowering in my tent.

I prised myself from his arms.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry I didn't come," I said.

Jimmy looked down at me with his big sun beam smile.

"But you did come," said Jimmy still smiling...

Tears began to fall from my eyes, but I did not make a sound they just fell, it almost felt like a betrayal I did not give permission the sneaky devils to leave my eyes.

"We share the same soul you see?" I said finally almost at a whisper.

"So we can never be apart," he said back.

Jimmy sighed, I knew it was as hard for him to leave me as I him Jimmy, Dolly, Fay, Fay, Dolly, Jimmy, we were connected and it was inexplicable and it was a great gift but it was also a great tragedy because now we had to part once more.

"I wish I could go with you, " I said.

Jimmy looked at me with big sad eyes and at the time I didn't think much of it, but now I think he was glad, glad that I couldn't follow him and sorry that he couldn't follow me.

"And I you, little sister,"

The cart started to speed up.

"I will see you again," said Jimmy.

"Of course, you'll see me again, this isn't goodbye James Marxby, you hear me?"

Jimmy grabbed onto shoulders, his grip almost too tight, my hair fell over my face as I looked at my big brother, he let go of my shoulder and embraced me tightly and I returned his grasp gripping him hard as if I could make up for all the time we were going to be apart in that one hug.

The cart picked up speed once more.

"You're going to have to jump down before you end up at the front with us," Jimmy laughed, it was an empty laugh, I knew everything I needed to just from that one laugh.

The men, Captain Rogers and Jimmy they cheered me on, jeering and cheering as I teetered over the moving edge of the cart and finally letting my body fall to the ground and I did fall but that didn't seem to matter I got straight back up again and ran after the cart, ran after my brother.

I could see Jimmy had tears in his eyes as I chased after him.

"We share the same soul, we three,"Jimmy shouted back at me.

"Finally, when I found my breath I shouted "We can never be apart," I hope he heard me amongst the wind and voices of men that seemed to breed and jeer next to him, I will never know, all I know is that my brother took off his hat and waved it at me and I waved back until he was out of sight and I was standing alone in the middle of a dusty road.

Gregory House- Present Day

It was time for hurricane Anna to meet hurricane May, up until now the universe had avoided such a meeting but now it was unavoidable. May, Charlie's short, petite, blond, rip jeans, tight t-shirt, bossy and big mouthed twenty-eight year old, musician (trying to be) sister was about to meet Anna, internationally world famous photographer, complete control freak, Lavinia's 'mother', it was a recipe for something frightful.

Lavinia was still in Charlie's arms, she was swaying back and forth like some kind pissed up pensioner (May's words) Anna had thanked Doctor Charlton but politely declined his offer to resume his services (politely = she was completely passive aggressive). It was at this point when May Charlton 'politely' lost it.
