I was thinking about this earlier. Something combining both his parents' quirks..

He would essentially be a fire bender, except he can neither create fire nor let it get too close to him. Instead, he can merely control it like some kind of puppet, as well as making it grow or shrink.
His support items would end up being something like a suit of fireproof armor and lighters, maybe even small flame throwers at the ready for him to use when there are no natural fires around. It is likely that he would still end up pretty scarred as the series goes on, however most of those scars would be burn marks from mistakes of his. Perhaps he would have even given himself terrible scarring as a kid when first activating his quirk.
Him and Todoroki I can see becoming a great duo, since Todoroki can make the fire and Deku can better manipulate it.
It would be fun to watch as he gets better, Deku can literally just shape the fire into humanoid figures which he calls Fire Demons, and make them do all the fighting while he just sits back in a dark corner twiddling his fingers a bit.
But of course you might be wondering how this kid could even fight in events such as the Sports Festival. Ladies and gentlemen, I point out to you the conveniently placed fountains of fire at each corner of the stage.

Either way, imagining Deku with this kind of quirk is just fun.
