Second encounter
"Why was there an ax in the girl's locker room?" Lucy asked, after Lynn told her what had happened to her earlier that day.
The two girls were talking in their room just before they had to go to bed.
"How am I supposed to know?" Lynn asked. "It was there one minute, and gone the next."
"Hmm..." Lucy thought. "It could be a totem of some sort, or maybe a cursed object."
"Totem? Cursed object? What the heck are you talking about Luc?"
"The ax clearly has some sort of spiritual entity attached to it." Lucy said. "The ax is how the spirit is connected to our world. It's like some sort of gateway or tether. The spirit is probably keeping it hidden in the girls room so it doesn't get destroyed and break the connection. It was probably there for years."
"If you know all that." Lynn said. "Then why did you ask me about it?"
"Well it kind of just came to me, you know." Lucy replied.
"Well Lucy, wherever the ax came from, this wasn't some spirit." Lynn said. "It was probably just some perv trying to get a look at me with my clothes off."
"Hey are you guys talking about ghosts?" Lincoln asked, barging in.
"Lynn encountered a spirit." Lucy said.
"It wasn't a spirit, just some little troll peeping on me in the bathroom." Lynn said.
"I thought it was the locker room." Lucy said.
"Whatever. I was in the shower, and he was spying on me."
"You know what you guys should do." Lincoln said.
"Perform a séance?" Lucy said.
"Call the cops." Lynn said.
"You should set up hidden cameras in the locker room, and catch the ghost on tape!" Lincoln said. "Just like they do on Arrgh."
"Lincoln this isn't your dumb TV show." Lucy said. "This is real life, Lynn could be in real danger."
"Hey that's not a bad idea." Lynn said. "Maybe we can catch the little creep in the act. Then see what the police have to say about it."
Then Luan walked by. "Well I don't know if you really wanna see someone performing THAT act."
Lincoln, Lynn, and Lucy starred at Luan blankly.
"Well." Luan said. "I'm gonna go get a snack."
"We'll need to plant the cameras when no one will notice." Lynn said. "Hey Stincoln you free tonight?"
"Me?" Lincoln said. "Yeah why?"
"Well I'm not gonna sneak into the school by myself." Lynn said. "And you've been watching that Arrgh show, so I think you'd know where to put them."
"I don't know Lynn." Lucy said. "You guys could get in a lot of trouble."
"Psh, we'll be fine." Lynn said.
"Yeah Lucy." Lincoln said. "We'll just be in and out, no big deal. And if someone's peeping on my sister in the shower, I wanna bring that creep to justice as much as she does. No one messes with my sisters. Plus if it is a ghost, and I catch it, I can send the video to Arrgh, and maybe I can be on their show."
"Come on bro." Lynn said. "Let's do this!"
...
Lincoln and Lynn made it to the school. It was dark, and the front door was locked.
"Oh man, if only Leni was here." Lynn said, "Then she could just pick this lock."
"You really think Leni would be down with breaking into the school?" Lincoln asked
"Probably not." Lynn said.
"Hey how about that window?" Lincoln pointed out. One of the class windows was open, just enough for one of them to slide in.
"Great idea." Lynn said. "I'll give you a boost."
"Wait why do I have too..." But before he knew it, Lincoln was being hoisted into the open window.
"Ooof!" Lincoln said as he fell onto the classroom floor.
"You ok in there?"
"I'm fine."
Moments later Lincoln opened the front door from the inside to let his sister in.
"You got the cameras right?" Lynn asked.
"Yep." Lincoln said. He held up a small device that fit in the palm of his hand.
"That's a camera?" Lynn said. "But it's so small."
"It's supposed to be hidden." Lincoln said. "I borrowed them from Lisa."
"So Lisa knows what we're up to?" Lynn said.
"No." Lincoln replied. "I told her it was for a project in my science class."
"Good thinking Stincoln." Lynn said.
They made their way to the girl's locker room.
...
"Wow, it's pretty dusty in here." Lincoln said as they entered the locker room.
"Yeah not many people use this room." Lynn said.
"It's cold too." Lincoln said wrapping his arms around himself. "So where did this happen?"
"I'll show you." Lynn said as she made her way to the shower.
"Hey is that the ax you saw?" Lincoln asked, pointing to an ax in a glass case, mounted on the wall.
"I think so." Lynn said. She walked over to the ax. On the glass case, there were words that read "In case of fire."
"In case of fire?" Lincoln said.
"Oh so it's a fire ax." Lynn said.
"Wouldn't they use a fire extinguisher, instead of an ax?" Lincoln said.
"Well I think the ax is for if a fire breaks out, and the door is stuck." Lynn said.
"This case is full of dust." Lincoln pointed out. "Looks like it hasn't been touched in years."
"Well let's go put these cameras up." Lynn said.
They walked over to the shower. Lincoln stuck a camera on the wall, hidden from view. "Ok so these are wirelessly linked to a lap top in my room." He said. "They can also see in infrared."
"Infr-what now?"
"Infrared." Lincoln repeated. "Heat vision, they can see heat. So even if the ghost is invisible, we can still pick up its heat signature."
"Oh." Lynn said. "Cool."
"I should place a few more around the room." Lincoln said. Then he placed some cameras on the walls and in some lockers. "You are the only one who goes in here right?"
"Yeah why?"
"Well I don't want to end up spying on some girls by mistake. That would be kind of contradictory to what we're doing."
"I get that." Lynn said. "But trust me. Aside from myself, and whatever creep was spying on me. No one has been in this room in years."
Lincoln was placing a camera in one of the lockers when he noticed the ax case.
"Uh Lynn." Lincoln said. "Did you take that ax out of its case?"
"No why?"
"Because the case is empty." Suddenly the room got cold and Lincoln could see his breath.
"LINCOLN WATCH OUT!" Lynn yelled, then she tackled Lincoln, just before a flying ax was able to strike him in the face.
The two siblings stumbled to the ground. They sat there for a moment, holding each other tight, and hyperventilating.
"Are... are you ok?" Lynn asked.
"Y-yeah." Lincoln said, looking at the ax that was now stuck in the locker door.
They saw a name etched into the handle of the ax, "Moya."
...
Lincoln and Lynn headed home. They got into Lincoln's room, where they checked the footage they got on his lap top.
"Ok I don't know how that creep got in there." Lynn said. "But attacking my brother is crossing the line. Let's look at this footage, find out who it is, and hope this creep gets locked up forever."
They played the footage, and what they saw, made their jaws drop.
First they saw Lincoln setting up the camera. Then as he was talking to Lynn, the ax materialized behind Lincoln, floating in mid air. The ax then came flying at the screen, and Lynn pushed Lincoln out of the way.
"Did you see that?" Lincoln said. "That ax just materialized out of nowhere! We have proof of the supernatural on tape!"
"Wow." Lynn said. "It really was a ghost."
"Well." Lincoln said. "It was either a ghost, or the Predator."
Lynn scowled at Lincoln.
"You watch too many movies." She said.
