2: Not a Nerd
The next day, as Brian sat at his desk, which was alone in the back of the classroom, he felt something hit him in the arm.
He dropped the pencil he'd been twirling and looked down, only to see a paper ball roll off the table.
He groaned, rolling his eyes. There were a few stifled laughs. He looked up, only to see Cody, one of the biggest bullies in the entire school, trying his best not to burst out laughing.
Brian stuck his tongue out at Cody and picked his pencil up, continuing to twirl it.
He continued to be hit by paper balls, as the bullies chuckled.
But Brian had had enough.
"Stop it, you weirdos! Hit me one more time and I'll punch you!" Brian growled quietly. "Idiots." He muttered.
Cody's grin instantly turned into a frown.
"What did you just say, punk!?"
"I'm not a punk, and I'm not a nerd, either!" Brian snarled, standing up, shoving his seat under his desk. His eyes met Cody's.
"Then prove it." One of the other boys growled.
"Boys, boys, settle down. Now!" The teacher shouted, glaring at both Brian and Cody.
"I will." Brian growled in response, ignoring his teacher.
"How?" Cody hissed, smirking.
At first, Brian wasn't exactly sure how to respond. But then, he had an idea.
"I'll go into the house on 34th Street." Brian responded, grinning. Gasps filled the classroom.
"We'll be there to see if you actually go. And you have to bring something back from the house, or else we won't believe you even went through the back door."
"Yeah, because you idiots are too scared to follow me to the back door to see if I go in."
Cody just stared, not believing that he was being insulted by the nerd.
He scowled and sat down in his seat, glaring at Brian one last time.
Brian smirked, satisfied.
He sat down in his seat and looked up, only to see his teacher sigh, shaking her head, before walking back to her desk at the front of the room.
