Do I go or stay?

"Dad?" I never thought I'd say that word in a long, long time.

Why is he here? Why is here now?!

My Dad smiled at me, he seemed a little scared.

Well, he should be! He left me and my Mom alone without any warning!

"Hello...daughter." He seemed hesitant saying that word.

He should be. "Don't 'hello daughter' me!" I hissed, glaring at my so-called father.

He sighed and opened his mouth. "Look, honey-"

I groaned and I felt Hiccup grab my hand, since I slipped my hand out of his when I yelled at my Dad. "Hey, Astrid. Come with me for a moment," Hiccup whispered to me before turning to my Mom and That guy; I don't think I should call him my Dad. "Hey, uh...mind giving me and Astrid a couple seconds?"

That Guy furrowed his brow. "And you are...?"

Hiccup gave him a small smile. "I'm her boyfriend."

That Guy was about to respond to his answer but my Mom whispered to him, "It's okay. Let him speak to her."

That Guy sighed and nodded, allowing Hiccup to speak to me.

Hiccup smiled and nodded to them in thanks, intertwining our fingers together while leading me up the stairs to my room.

He opened my door once we made it up the stairs and let me inside first, closing the door behind him.

I sighed and turned around to face him. "Why're we here?"

Hiccup sighed and sat on the edge of my bed, patting the spot beside him.

I gave him a look and he just rolled his eyes and moved forward, pulling me to him. I gave out a little surprised squeak when I landed on his lap, my back on his chest.

I gave him another look but he just shrugged. "You didn't sit down beside me, so you're trapped with me." He wrapped his arms around my waist and held me hostage.

I gave him a blank face, but in all honesty, I didn't mind sitting here. "Just get on with why we're here."

Hiccup nodded and rested his chin on my shoulder, sighing. "You need to let your Dad speak."

I 'pfft'ed and shook my head. "You think I'd let That Guy speak? No. And I don't wanna talk to him or face him." I frowned and crossed my arms, leaning back against Hiccup's chest.

Hiccup sighed...again. "Well, that guy happens to be your Dad. So you gotta speak to him."

I rolled my eyes and tried to move away from Hiccup but he had me secure. "He's not my Dad...well, not anymore. He's just That Guy."

"That Guy?"

"Yeah. I named him."

"You named him?"

I pouted and hid myself. "Yes."

Hiccup let out a laugh, then another. "Really?"

I growled silently and slid out of his arms, which had loosened since he was laughing a little. I walked away to the window when he reached for me. "He doesn't deserve to even have a name."

Hiccup walked up behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist, letting his forehead rest on the back of my head. "You really hate him that much, huh?"

I sighed and nodded, leaning against the windowsill. "Yeah."

Hiccup placed a small kiss on the back of my neck before turning me around, softly pinning me to the window, which was open but I wouldn't fall since it stopped where my ribs were.

"Listen to me, Astrid... You've gotta speak to him. Sure, he left you when you were little but you have to remember this: My Mom was killed giving birth to me - I've never met her - and my Dad rarely has time for me. And, to be honest, I don't wanna see him either. The way he talked about you...I just couldn't be on his side anymore...I'm pretty sure I wasn't even on his side in the first place..."

I observed his eyes for any feeling but all I saw was a little hurt... Sighing, I looked down. "I know that," I mumbled.

Hiccup leaned more closer to me. "Will you talk to him?" he asked quietly.

I shrugged and glanced up at him. "What if he leaves again?"

Hiccup gave me a tight smile and gently placed a kiss on my lips, which were slightly a frown.

I kissed back and placed my hands behind me on the windowsill to keep me up. Hiccup placed his hands on mine while he slowly and softly moved his lips against mine.

I grunted softly, and quietly, right before I removed my lips from his and let out small huffs of air as I looked into Hiccup's eyes.

He looked back into mine. "You ready?"

I took a deep breath before giving him a small smile. "I think so."

Hiccup smiled at me and kissed me one more time before we broke away and walked out of the room.

OOOOOO

"Here she comes now," I heard my Mom say as I walked over to them, Hiccup trailing behind with my hand in his.

"Uh...hi..." I stood in front of my Dad, a couple feet away, and waved a little.

I could tell he was smiling when he said, "Hi Astrid. Been a long time huh?"

I couldn't hold in the question any longer. "Why did you leave?"

He sighed and leaned against a wall. "Well...since me and your Mom are divorced...I decided that it was best if one of us left...to avoid any tension."

I furrowed my brow and looked at my Mom and then my Dad again. "Wait...you guys are...divorced?! Why haven't I known this?!"

My Mom sighed and looked down, hugging herself. "It was sort of obvious. I mean, I don't have the ring on." She held up her hand, which had no sign of any ring.

I looked down, feeling a little tears brim the edge of my eyes. I silently sniffed and removed my hand from Hiccup's to wipe them away. "Why didn't you tell me?" I muttered, my voice in a low growl.

Hiccup seemed to hear how my voice changed its tone and wrapped an arm around me, whispering, "Astrid, calm down."

I took a deep breath and vaguely did what he said. "Fine," I grumbled to him. He nodded and removed his arm, holding my hand instead.

"Astrid, you were depressed enough... I knew how much you've liked me and your father together...so having you hear we're divorced is just gonna make it worse for you..." my Mom explained.

I groaned and sobbed while I covered my face with my hands, under my glasses, and moving them in a circular motion, rubbing my face. I let out a loud sigh and said, "Whatever! Just...tell me why you're here, Dad..."

My Dad sighed and looked down, crossing his arms. "I came here because it's time."

"Time for what?" I immediately asked, furrowing my brow.

"Time for..." - he took a deep breath - "time for you to come with me..."

I widened my eyes. "Where...?"

He moved forward. "To England."

"Wait what?" I stepped back, moving as far away as I can from my Dad.

"You heard me..."

I let out an incredulous laugh and shook my head. "No... No. I'm not leaving Berk and going to England," I firmly said. By now, I let go of Hiccup's hand and was about to make a run for it to the door, but Hiccup grabbed my hand again and shook his head to tell me 'no'.

"But I want to spend time with you..." my Dad pleaded, moving closer to me.

"But I don't want to leave Berk! For the first time, this is the only place where I've actually made friends! Heck, I even managed to get a boyfriend!"

Uh-oh. I'm mad.

"Yes! I know Astrid! But I want to spend those lost moments with you again!"

And my Dad's mad too...

Great.

I groaned and let go of Hiccup's hand again, walking away. "Well...you lost your chances..."

"Astrid..." warned my mother.

I stopped moving and hesitated before turning around. "Mom... Why- okay..." I took a deep breath and moved away from the door. "Do I have to go with him?"

My Mom gave me a sorrowful gaze and looked into my eyes. She moved toward me and removed my glasses, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear. "I don't want you to...but...you really should spend time with him. He misses you..."

I sighed and wanted to protest but my Dad spoke. "I really do miss you."

I just stared at him and looked down, slightly scowling. "If you did miss me, why didn't you come back sooner?"

"Because."

"Because what?" I glanced up.

He took a deep breath. "Because I was afraid."

I'm confused. "Wha... Afraid? Why?"

"I was afraid that...well...this would happen." He chuckled a little and came closer to me; I didn't move away this time.

"Come with me. Please."

I opened my mouth but then closed it again, slowly. I looked around me. I looked at my Mom, this house, and...Hiccup. I stopped my eyes on Hiccup, I don't wanna leave him. He's done so much for me and...I've never got to repay him.

I'm scared.

I don't know what to do or say.

What do I do?

What do I say?!
