Ella leant against the locker and gave me a sideway glance, while I was placing my textbooks in the locker.

I could hear the gears turning in her mind. Before she could open her mouth, I said with a sigh.

"Alright, fine, ask whatever you want."

"My curiousity got the better of me. Seriously you have just been in school for only a few hours and you have offended the most popular guy in school. I don't get it."

"Oh so he is the most popular guy in school. Yeah right, as if I care. I just accidentally bump into him. I have no idea why is he so petty about it."

"Don't anyhow say negative things about Zachary in school. You have no idea how many girls in this school have a crush on him," Ella warned me as we were walking to our next class. I guess that I was lucky that both of us are in the same class for all the subjects.

"Do you?" Ella looked at me as if I had lost my mind. "What me? How could I possibly have a crush on Zachary when it should be the other way round?" Ella replied with a smile and winked at me playfully.

Something about Ella's answer doesn't add up. She can't seem to look at me in the eye when she's talking to me. The smile also didn't reach her eyes. However, I didn't dwell on it much, as I might be overthinking again.

"Hey yo mum, I'm home!" I dropped my schoolbag on the floor went into the living room and slumped on the couch.

"In the kitchen Rachel!" Sigh, I just sat here..
"Yeah coming." I popped one cookie into my mouth once my eyes found my mum's mouthwatering home bake cookies.

"Hey! Rachel Williams! That isn't for you!" My mum chided me.

"But mum, your cookies are to die for, you know that!" I smiled sheepishly at her but she just huffed at me. Oh wells, at least I got to eat one cookie before she stopped me. *giggles inwardly*

"So how's your first day back in school?"

"Um, still okay." I was looking at everywhere else but my mum when I answered.

"Just okay? Nothing else?" My mum stop whatever she's doing and gave me her full attention.

"Of course, if not you want my school day to be filled with unnecessary dramas?" I said jokingly.

"Rachel, you know that's not what I meant."

"Mum.. Today has not been that well." I admitted with a soft sigh.

"It's only your first day back in school, give yourself and everyone some time to adapt." With that my mum continue baking her delicious cookies.

You might be wondering why my mum is so concerned with my first day in school. It all goes back to my introvert personality. It had not been easy for me when I first transferred to a new school in England back then. It sure as hell was not easy right now too.

*one week later*
*door bell rings*

"Rachel can you get the door for me? I'm a little busy with the cookies right now."

"Okay, I'll get it."

WOW. My eyes widened in shock when I saw who's our visitor.

I would have never dreamt of this person standing outside at my doorstep. But here he was, big as life and not alone.

"Oh my, you must be Rachel. You're so adorable!" The older woman kept on pinching my face. I felt like I was 3 years old all over again.

"Uh yeah by th-" before I could finish my question, my mum shouted, "Rachel who's that?" Again, before I could reply my mother the older woman beat me to it.

"Rebecca! It's Natalie!" My mum immediately ran out of the kitchen after she heard who's here.

"Natalie, what a surprise! Come on in!" My mum quickly invited the mother and son into our home.

That's awesome. They're not leaving any time soon.

Zachary Davis just walked past me and went into the house totally ignoring my existence as if we didn't know each other. But damn it, all I could think of is how handsome he looked right now.

Wait no ew what is wrong with me? I quickly stopped myself before I could continue with my ridiculous thoughts.

"Rachel stop daydreaming and get in here."

I walked in with my head hung low because suddenly I was self conscious of what I wore for pajamas. I was wearing a Minnie Mouse pajamas set, the shirt were hot pink with Minnie's head and a light pink pajamas pants with Minnie's legs.

Well that's too bad because I wore clothes that I feel comfortable in. I don't give a hoot if the clothes look bad on me or not.

My mum and Natalie were having small talks while me and Zachary looked like we want to be anywhere else but here. Apparently, Natalie and my mum were high school BFFs. The reason why I have never met her before is because they relocated back here after my family moved to London.

"Zachary you are in the same school with Rachel right? Did you happen to see her in school for the past week?" My mum asked Zachary innocently.

"No," I said sternly. To my surprise, Zachary actually said yes. He saw the bewildered look on my face and smirked. What an infuriating jerk.

"So, is it a yes or no?" My mum asked with a cheeky smile. Oh no.

"Yeah fine I saw him once in school because I accidentally bump into him. End of story. Now, if you'll excuse me..." As I ran up the stairs I could hear laughter resounding through the living room, that turned my cheeks as red as a rose.

I flopped myself on my super comfy bed and stared at the ceiling. People say women are hard to understand. Ha. Right. Men they are no exception either. He changed his mood so fast I could not even catch up.
