---Atif's POV ---

Thank God, I finished early.

Couldn't wait to go home and see what my wife has to say about everything.

I got home and something felt awkward. The house was extremely quiet today.

I went upstairs and to our room but what I saw legit left me in a shock.

Where the hell was everything that belonged to her?

I went downstairs and asked what the hell happen.

"Why're you asking? You are the one that sent divorce papers," Dad said.

My world shattered hearing that word.

No wonder she called and I told her to sign.

Ugh!! I'm so mad, upset and frustrated right now.

"I didn't send divorce papers! That girl is my life. You know I'd never do that!" I said.

I turned to my mom.

"What the hell?" I asked.

"Relax. If she loved you she would've never signed," she said.

"She did sign only because I gave you a different file and I signed it! I legit told you to get her signature on it," I said.

"Oh, the new house. I got someone to sign it," she said and Inaya walked in.

"Over my dead body," I said and went to get my phone.

I kept calling her but she wasn't answering.

I tried her friends as well but no luck. I even called the guys that they didn't know.

I went back downstairs and decided to I'd go and check some places.

"Atif," my dad said as I was about to leave.

"Ji?" I asked.

"Don't even think about coming back if you can't find my daughter-in-law," he said.

I looked over at my mom and Inaya and I could tell they were about to get defensive.

"Wasn't planning to," I said and both of them looked at me shocked.

My dad may not show it but I knew he was proud of me.

I left the house and went to a few places where she could be but no luck.

"Rubina!" I yelled getting her attention.

"Hey, you may not know me but.."I was saying but she interuppted me.

"I do," she said.

"Perfect. I need you to do me a huge favor," I said.

I went on and told her everything that happen with the files. And since Nivar was the best lawyer in town, I knew they'd go to him.

"Don't worry. And if I find out anything on wear she is, I'll definitely contact you," she said.

"Thank you," I said.

The last place I went to was her house. My in-laws, because I had no idea how to talk to them.

They were so welcoming. I did they tell them everything that happen and they allowed me to stay the night here.

Unfortunately, not once did my wife call.

I realized it's because she's trying to keep her parents out of it.

I decided to call her again because I couldn't sleep knowing that she was just out there somewhere.

"Ati, what do you want?" She asked.

"Babe, where are you?" I asked.

"Why? You told me to sign those divorce papers," she said.

"I didn't know. I sent you papers to a house. I wanted us to move out. I'd never want a divorce from you. I even talked to Rubina today and told her to tell Nirav to not let it happen," I said.

"Babe, even your parents are worried about you," I added.

"You told my parents?" She asked.

"I thought you would be at their house, so I came here," I said.

"Where are you now?" She asked.

"I'm still here. My dad said I'm not allowed back til I bring you home," I said.

"And you agreed? I don't want to be the reason to come between you and your family," she said.

"Your not. You are my everything, just tell me where you are," I said.

"I'm at my cousin's house," she said. "It's too late for you to come. I'll just meet you at my parents tomorrow."

"Okay. And I seriously do love you," I said.

"I just wish you would have told me then and there what those papers would've been about," she said.

"I didn't know she would do this," I said.

"Alright. Go to sleep, it's getting late," she said.

"Okay. I love you and come here first thing tomorrow, since you won't tell me which cousin," I said.

Hopefully, that would have made her tell but I'm married to a stubborn girl.

"Sweet dreams," she said and hung up.

I tried going to sleep but I just couldn't so I asked her dad if I could use his laptop and he let me.

I was suprised that he was still up.

"Atif," he said.

"Ya?" I asked.

"Was that her you were on the phone with?" He asked.

"Ji," I said.

"Kaha hai?" He asked.

"Ji cousin kha ghar," I said. "But she won't say what cousin."

"It's okay. I know her very well, you know when she was little she'd always runaway when things wouldn't work out. She's very stubborn!" He said.

"She is!" I agreed.

"But she'd always go to her cousins house and if her cousin wasn't home then a place of worship," he said.

I smiled at that.

"If she does this again then those are the two places to look," he said.

"I don't understand your daughter. She works for one of the highest companies in the world and acts like this," I said.

"She's been ziddi ever since. Her brothers were always spoiled by everyone cause they're guys. You know how people are when it comes to girls. They just wanna get rid of them," he said.

"That's why she married me," I said.

He looked at me confused and in shock.

"She told me," I said and he nodded understanding.

"But you know something. I want to have a daughter with her. Someone who can make her see exactly how stubborn she is," I said.

He laughed at that.

"Looks like your daughter will have to put her mom in her place," he said and we both laughed at that.

We stayed up talking about an hour more til I told him he should go to bed.

I helped him out and then left to do my work.

I was feeling super sleepy so I put everything away and went to bed thinking about the possible future I could have.
