Katie Spencer was a nice black-haired girl who loved old things as much as her father did. So she was the happiest kid ever when they opened a new antique store just 2 streets away from where she lived. And when her parents asked her what she would like to get for her 11th birthday - she answered 'Something from the Antique Store!' without any hestitation. 

'Ok, so we will go to the Antique Store together tomorrow - & you will choose a present for yourself' answered Carlos, Katie's father. 'Whatever I want?' asked Katie happily. 'Yes, My Little Princess - one thing, but you decide what it will be'. 'Great!' called Katie & hugged her father out of joy - 'I can't wait!'. 

Donna, Katie's mother entered the room & smiled looking at her happy family. She told her husband & daughter 'Ok, My Dears - and now wash your hands & sit at the table... - Supper's ready'. Katie answered 'Yes, mom!' then smiled at her father, said 'Who gets to the bathroom & washes his hands first - eats first!' & run out of the room cheerfully. 

Donna smiled looking after Katie and called after her 'Don't run too fast, Katie'. They just heard Katie's answer 'I'm Hungry!' so Carlos laughed, said 'I'm Hungry too!', kissed his wife's cheek and also went to wash his hands. A few minutes later they all had a nice supper. Donna made delicious spaghetti for her family - cause that was her specialty. 

Only their cat Xena didn't have a chance to try it - but she had her own food, so she didn't complain. 

After the supper the whole family watched some tv together - & when it was Katie's bedtime, she brushed her teeth & went to sleep. And she had The Most Beautiful Dream She Could Remember! - In that dream she entered the Antique Store with her dad & there were so many cool old things around that she didn't know what to choose - so she was walking from shelf to shelf for a few minutes - & suddenly she found a box with a picture of a girl that could be her age at the top of it. The girl had curly hair & a nice smile. Her skin seemed quite pale & she was dressed in an old fashioned way. 

Katie liked that box with girl's picture so much that she smiled as soon as she saw it. The girl from the picture smiled back & whispered 'Pick me, please' - as if she knew that Katie was to pick only one thing from the Antique Store. After that Katie woke up - but she remembered her dream well.

She woke up happy & got even happier when she realized that it was the day of Picking Her Birthday Present. From the Antique Store... 

And she was to go there with her father right after breakfast! - She couldn't wait! It was the 2nd week of Holidays so she didn't have to go to school & had a lot of time to spend with her family & friends, to plan who to invite for her birthday party ... & of course to pick her birthday present!

She dressed up quickly and during her breakfast she couldn't think of anything else!... - Good that the Antique Store wasn't very far away because she knew that they could walk there in a few minutes & was happy about that!
