Kainene's pov

   "Yeah, am  back to Lagos", I said to Patricia over the phone.

"Okay and I heard what happened to you"

"Am sorry", she said and I noticed her sad voice.

"It's fine", I said.

Just then I heard a knock on the door.

"Come in", I said and somto came in.

"We will talk later", I said to Patricia as I hung up.

"Baby sis, how are you doing", somto asked me standing by my dressing table smiling.

  "Am fine", I said smiling back.

" No you are not fine"

" Am sorry for not being there when you needed me the most"

"Am sorry our parents were too busy to check up on you"

"Am sorry for making you go through all this", he said as tears rushed down.

"Why didn't you tell me that day we were chatting", he asked.

"I was scared"

" I didn't know how you would feel or react"

"I felt dirty and rejected", I paused and started crying.

"Am just happy you are home", somto said with a weak smile.

"Am equally happy", I heard a family voice as we turned towards the voice.

"Mom", I said.

" Get out", somto shouted.

"Am really sorry", mom said with teary eyes.

"You are sorry", somto said sarcastically.

"So you now know that you have a daughter that exists right", he spat out angrily.

" Am really sorry dear"

" I was so concerned about work that I didn't bother to come check on you"

"Am sorry", she said crying.

Even with all the drama going on, I just kept ship and watched mom cry as somto shouted at her.

" You left her with one man you claim is your brother raaaa...., God, I don't know what to say to you"

" You disgust me ", somto said and sat on my bed.

"Mom", I said and her face lit up.

"It's not your fault", I said and somto faced me.

"It is her fault ooo, she didn't even bother to check on you", somto said facepalming himself.

"I called", mom said and somto faced her.

"I called", she repeated.

"Every single day, I called obi to make sure you were fine", she said as tears rolled down her cheeks.

" He always reassured me that you were fine"

"And you believed him", I said looking disappointed.

"He is my brother, I didn't know", mom said crying.

I just say there crying.

"Am sorry", I turned towards the voice I just heard.

"Dad", I said surprised

Somto just let out a sigh.

"Kainene, my dear"

"We are very sorry,I promise to be the best father ", he said looking at me.

"I promise to make it up to you", he said moving closer to grab my hand but I moved back.

"I know the trauma is still there"

" You will heal very soon",he said reassuringly.

"I will get you a therapist you can talk to", he said and every where went  silent for about two minutes.

"Mom"
"Dad", I broke the silence.

"I forgive you, it's not your fault"

"Am happy you are ready to fulfill your other responsibilities as parents"

"I love you both", I said and spread my arms to hug them as the walked towards me.

"Oouch!", I exclamation.

"Oh sorry nne", mom said and I just nodded.

"So me am invisible abi", somto said and we all laughed.

"Come here joor", I said as he pulled me into a very tight hug.

"Wound me shey you hear", I said and he quickly pulled back.

"So...", Before somto could finish by the sentence, I heard another voice from behind.

"Am I missing something", she said and I recognized it instantly.

    "Ada!", We shouted and she rushed me Sha.

What a family reunion ☺️
