I know, I know. It says work. In the singular. As in one. But I want to share what I've been up to writing wise so I'm going to do two. One is In Progress. The other is Recently Completed.

Silent heroes

I recently completed the first draft of a prequel to the Afterlife Series entitled Silent Heroes.

It depicts the legend mentioned in book one, where the first Thendarian and Cethielite, Volcan and Phoebe set out to save their worlds, much like Eliana does. While they take the same journey, they face different difficulties, have a very different relationship, and basically, have a different story, which in retrospect, I agree, needed to be told.

This, contrary to most of my stories, was not inspired by myself. I was given the idea when a wattpad user commented that she liked the legend and asked if I'd invented it. When I told her I did, she explained that her niece loved it and suggested I write a story depicting the legend in more detail. I forget if I'd already planned the sequels or not, but I loved the idea. Though let me tell you, it took me some time to get started. It's only these past couple weeks I've really been shovelling through it. I finally finished it a few weeks ago (phew!), and so far I'm pretty pleased with myself. I've pushed boundaries in my writing, and I'm glad I can do that.

Tales of Abendale

This was initially thought out to be a fanfiction of the Avalon Web of magic series, which I haven't read yet but am very interested in. Then, while listening to some Celtic music to see if it fit the scene I had in mind, I got ideas to make it more original, turning it into the Tales of Abendale.

Three college girls, all studying a form of art (music, photography and dance) find themselves taken to the world of their ancestors, Abendale, where they are caught up in a huge political conflict that is no accident. Using newfound abilities, they race to set things right before it's too late. But Robyn will have to battle with the scars of her past... in more ways than one.

I plan on not reading the Web of Magic books yet to not unwillingly copy too much. I have only just started working on book one, but I already have loads of cool ideas and twists for this new Trilogy. For those of you already wondering if I'll put it on Wattpad, I don't know, yet. But if I do, it will most likely be only book 1.
