I know I said Harry Potter was my favourite book, and while there are many great quotes in all of the series, my all-time favourite quote is NOT from Harry Potter. No, I'm not feverish. I'm perfectly fine, thank you for your concern. It's from another equally amazing fantasy series, The Mortal Instruments. Book 3 precisely.

"There is no pretending," Jace said with absolute clarity. "I love you, and I will love you until I die, and if there is life after that, I'll love you then."

I am a hopeless romantic and this is about as moving and romantic as you can get! All the more so when you know the exact context (which for obvious reasons I shall not reveal here). The history of Jace and Clary's relationship is one bumpy ride in so many ways, and this is one of the turning points. So, this is my choice. Because Clace. Clace, people.

Another reason I adore this quote is because when you actually know Jace's character, you know he means every word. He's cocky, he's flirty, but he isn't a liar (well... okay, not much).

It also makes me a little sad, because I would be in heaven if someone said that or something similar to me, but the sad truth is that unless I really knew the person inside and out, I could never be entirely certain he meant it.
