Chapter -14-

[¥]Chapter 14[¥]

¬£¬My New Friend¬£¬

"Jazzmine called last night and said that she and Braydon had a long night so she will pick them up after school. I knew that was going to happen, because every time they "spend time together". They end up going into over time. So now, I am getting ready to take the girls to daycare. "Come on girl's time to go!" I yelled up the steps.

"Coming! " They yelled back. Once they got their bags, Makierra and Malaya ran down the steps.

"Ready?" I asked once they made it down the steps.

"Yes." Malaya said. "Say bye to grandma." I told them. My mom was also up; she was getting ready to go to her photo shoot. Once again, I helped her with her outfit. It is like once she started this job she had gotten a completely new wardrobe.

"Bye ma, ma. You look pwetty." Makierra said.

"Thank you baby. I'm going to pick you guys up after school okay." My mom said giving them hugs.

"Tay." We walked out the door, to the car, and I strapped them in their car seat. I dropped them off at Day Care; witch was like 15 minutes away from my school, and only 20 minutes away from my house, and headed off to school.

Once I got there, I had about 10 minutes left to chill, before the first bell rung. Since I have no friends inside of school, I just sat by my car and watch friends greet each other, jocks doing the usual. New students look lost, couples having their arguments. Just regular high school stuff. I was jamming to 'Single' by The New Kids on the Block ft. Ne-Yo, when a girl walked over to me. She must be new if she is talking to me.

"Um excuse me, but can you tell me were room 438 is please." She asked looking at her schedule. I pressed paused on my I-pod and looked at her schedule.

"Yeah. I have that class first. I'll walk you." I told her.

"Thank you very much." She said as she took her schedule back and put it in her bag.

"Take a seat if you'd like." I offered Jayting a seat next to me on the table.

"My name is Alicia by the way." She said extending her hand towards me.

"Khalia." I said shaking her outstretched hand.

"That's a very unique name. How do you spell it?" She asked. That was a first. I thought.

"K-H-A-L-I-A." I spelled. "My third oldest sister got to name me, but my oldest sister got to spell it." I explained.

"Cool." Then it grew quiet. I turned my I-pod back on and began to listen to the rest of the song.

Then said, "So I'm guessing you're new here?" just to make conversation.

"Yeah, I just moved down here from Saint Luis like three weeks ago." she said.

"Aw that is awesome. I always wanted to go to St. Luis." It is true I said that once I graduate high school I would get to a college in St. Louie. I heard they had some great colleges there.

"What's it like down here in North Carolina?" Alicia asked.

"Quiet but a lot of drama." I said nonchalantly.

We were talking about everything, and how the school is. Until someone pulled up in the student parking lot blasting their music like they at a club or something. I hate it when people try to show off. I guess Alicia was reading my thoughts because she said, "I hate it when people show off their new 'toys'." She said referring to the car.

"Yeah, that's just shows they're a bunch a spoiled brats who parents don't care a bout them at all." I agreed. We sat there and watched girls crowd around the car like a bunch of groupies. Therefore, it could only be a popular boy. Then the football team came and greeted their "friend". Football player. I thought. Once everyone cleared out the way, and let him get out his car, I saw Jason. My heart had skipped a beat and sunk into my stomach. I thought I couldn't breath for a wile but finally found my breathe. He looked my way and gave me a head nod and smiled. Then put his arm around one of the girls and walked to the field.

"You know that guy?" she asked looking back at me, who was still zoned out from the sight. However, I finally snapped out of it and answered.

"I wish I didn't." I started. Now things are going to be worse. I thought. "That's my ex Jason, he's the 'God' of this school." I said with air quotes. "Well at least that's what everyone makes it seem." I continued.

"Oh woow." She said scheming over the parking lot.

"Yeah, and to give you a heads up, he's bad news, so stay away from him. Far away." I warned. "Don't give him the time of day. Because if you do, he will pull you into his web of lies and feed you bull crap, then disrespect you. And there's no way out." I told her. I really was not trying to scare her, just warn her about Jason's player ways.

"Note taking." She laughed as she made an invisible mark in the air with her finger. "So why you guys break up if you don't mind me asking?" She seemed curious to know. I figured there's nothing to hide so why not talk to her. It is not often I have someone to talk to besides, Kelly.

"He was a jerk, plus he got locked up for being a jerk, and threatened my life. Couldn't deal with him anymore." I told her. I thought about going into detail but it would be too much for her. Hell it is too much for me.

"Oh." was all she said. We sat there until the first bell rung and everyone began to enter the school. Alicia and me walked and talked about lots stuff. Luckily her locker was next to mine, well two doors down, so she didn't have to look extra lost finding it. Therefore, it did not matter.

As we put our things in the locker, Kelly walked up looking happy as always. "Hey babe." He greeted as he approached the lockers.

"Hey." I turned around to face him, pecked his lips, and gave him a hug.

"Who's your friend?" He asked looking at Alicia who was watching the students pass by.

"Alicia this is my wonderful boyfriend Kelly, Kelly this is Alicia. She's new here so be nice." I hit him in the chest softly.

"I'm always nice." He squeezed my waist slightly. "How you doing Alicia?" He asked.

"I'm good thanks for asking." She said with a warm smile.

"That's good. Is she being nice to you?" He tickled me on a sneak tip, and we both laughed a little.

"Yes she has. I haven't gotten a chance to meet everyone yet. But she has been nice." She informed him.

"Okay. Are you being nice to her?" This boy is a fool.

She laughed slightly and said, "Of course I am. I wouldn't be if she wasn't nice to me."

"Okay, that's good to know. Well I am bout to go shoot some hoops in the gym. See you later babe." He said releasing my waist.

"See you later." I smiled. He kissed my cheek and gave Alicia a friendly hug and off he was.

"He is fione!" She exclaimed as we both watched him walk down the hall and talk to more students. "Where you get him I want one." She said redirecting her attention to me.

"I know right. He is sexy." I laughed. "But sorry he's one of a kind." I said. Making sure, I had all my books.

"Does he have a brother?" She asked looking at her schedule and switching books.

"Yeah but they're all taken. Sorry." I shrugged. "Aww man. I just might have to take one." She joked.

"You would have to kill me to get to him." I laughed.

"I just might do that." She joked again. "So where do we go now?" She said getting back to serious matters.

"Well right now we can do what ever." I said as I closed my locker and she did the same. "We have about 10 minutes before class actually starts." I watched as the jocks all rallied up the hall where they were. They always do this all the time. Every morning they would get a group of kids together and then shout out random things, most of the time, it is their class [when they graduate] and everyone else follows. It is like a miniature pep rally.

"Okay. So what do you want to do?" She said looking at the jocks also.

"Can you dance?" I asked redirecting my attention to her.

"A little why?" She said a little unsure of herself.

"That's what I like to do to pass by the time. Let's go." I grabbed her hand and guided her to the dance room. There were people already there going over routines, making new dances, going over new steps, just a bunch of dancing.

"This is cool." she said looking around. "We never had anything like this at Fortress High." I grabbed a radio and found a clear spot where we can dance. The dance room was big. I plugged my I-pod into the radio and played a random dance song.

"Let's see what you got." I said standing off to the side.

"I'm scared." She said nervously.

"Come on girl you can do it. 'Cause half of these people, most likely, are going to be in your dance class, if you signed up for it. She is going to make you dance in front of the class so you had better show what you got now. Trust I was a train wreck when I had to do it, but I got over it." I told her. She took a deep breath.

"Okay. Let's see what other songs you have." We went through the songs until she found something she liked. She chose to dance to one of Brittany Spear's old songs "Piece of Me". It had a nice beat to it too. She waited for the beat and threw down. This girl has some major skills going for her. It is as if she has been dancing all her life. Once she got started, there was no stopping her. However, she danced until she wanted to stop; which was like in the middle of the song. By the time she stopped dancing, everyone was looking at her, whispering, and my jaw was practically on the floor. She had more moves then me.

"Got damn!" I yelled from excitement finally picking my jaw up off the floor.

"I was that bad?" She asked looking nerves.

"'A little bit my ass.' You can dance girl. That was major fire there." I told her still shocked from the moves.

"Thanks." She laughed.

"Do you dance for fun?" I asked.

"Not really, I just sit and write. I've danced at parties and things but I never did dance a lot." she said as I stopped the music.

"It looks like you've been dancing your whole life." I told her.

"Just something I made up off the top of my head." she shrugged.

"Oh woow." I laughed.

"You got to show me that move you did at the end." I said trying to do what she did. She laughed at my attempt but showed me how to do it. That one moved turned into a whole dance. By the time the bell rung, we had half of a dance to the song. "You're a true genius, when it comes to dancing." I said grabbing my I-pod.

"No it was all you. You have a very creative mind." she said getting her bag.

"Thank you." I fixed my hair and began to walk out the class. "Did you see all them people looking at us? They couldn't keep their eyes off." I told her as we made our way down the hall. She just laughed.

We walked threw the halls as I showed her where things were. Then we made it into our first period class right before the bell rung. We had Honors English IV together. I think have myself a new friend.

We took our seats and she sat next to me. "So what class you have next?" I asked as the teacher walked in.

"AP Chemistry. What about you?" she asked.

"Honors Calculus, Dance, and World Geography" I said.

"That sounds like my schedule but I have AP Chemistry, Dance, and World Geography." she said excitedly.

"Who's your Geography teacher?" I asked curiously.

"Mr. Johnson?" She said reading off her schedule.

"Oh you have Coach J?" I asked excitedly. "He's real cool, you'll like him. He acts like a big teenager sometimes." I informed her.

"Sounds like fun. Who do you have?" She said looking at her other classes.

"I have Coach O." It was hard to pronounce his name so everyone called him Coach O.

"Girls can you stop talking please." Ms. Black said interrupting our conversation.

"Sorry." we both said at the same time.

"Okay class we have a new student." She announced. "Alicia would you like to come up and say something." She looked at Alicia hoping she would say yes.

"Sure." Alicia said as she got up out her seat and walked to the front of the room. She looked a little nerves wile she walked up there. "Hi everyone," She started "my name is Alicia Riggins, I'm 18 and I'm from Saint Luis. Just moved here like three weeks ago, and that's it." She said looking at Ms. Black.

She nodded and Alicia made her way back to her seat and sat down. "Okay. Thank you Miss Riggins." She said smiling at Alicia. "Now class I want you to take out your books and turn to page 187. Read the story and answer the questions on 191." She said giving the instructions. We took our books out, flipped through the pages, read the story, and answered the questions.

Once we were finish with everything, she taught for a little wile, gave us our homework, then we talked for the rest of the class when the bell rung. Time for the next class, party time. "So what lunch do you have?" I asked as we made our way out into the hallway. Surprisingly, no one messed with me. Maybe I should not speak to soon.

"3rd right after Dance." She said shifting her bag to her other shoulder.

"So I'll see you then." I said giving her a hug.

"Iight. Duces chick."

"Peace out." I said before we parted and went our separate ways. Once I got down the hall and around the corner a couple of students started picking on me, it's not as many students messing with me then usual. I just knew it was coming, but oh well.
