Chapter 13

Myself and Draco had decided to sneak away early the next morning to go to the duelling room when we knew no one else was going to be there. I closed the door behind us and walked up the stairs to the stage where Draco was already stood with his wand out and his confident smirk was on his face. I smirked back to him and we began duelling showing off the spells we knew. After at least an hour went by we were both tired so we sat down dangling our legs off the stage after a comfortable silence Draco spoke up.

"So would it be alright if I ask you some questions, about well you know?" I just nodded. "So were your parents vampires?"

"Only my mum was a vampire, my dad was a wizard"

"So why do you live with Lupin?"

"He's my godfather. My mother was killed by Voldemort and my father was taken out of the picture because of him as well" Draco seemed surprised that I said Voldemort's name. "I'm not gonna give him the satisfaction of being afraid of him" This made Draco give me a small smile. "I'm really glad you took that promise to keep my vampire secret" I started to ring my hands nervousness of the memory coming back. "I was so scared of what would happen to not only me but my godfather. Sometimes I feel like I'm more trouble then he deserves to handle, if I was a regular witch at least he wouldn't have to raise a monster" I could feel tears falling down my cheeks and several drops fell from my face hitting my hands. I didn't know why I was telling Draco all of my insecurities with my home life but for some reason I felt like I could trust him and I felt safe with him. Out of no where I felt his hand on mine my eyes widened slightly as I looked up slowly to see Draco giving me a comforting smile. He then raised his hand and wiped away my tears.

"Angel, you are not a monster, your the most amazing witch I've met. Even if your a vampire that just makes you more unique." I smiled at his words and let out a soft chuckle and rubbed the tears away. We stayed and talked for a little while longer talking about the holidays and agreed to keep sending letters to each other and even give each other presents before we left.

A few months passed by and winter was finally here I had received a note from Hermione telling me to meet her, Ron and Harry in the girls bathroom. When I got there I sat down helping to finish the potion. I used a ladle to distribute the potion into four cups I then handed them out whilst Hermione explained.

"We'll have exactly one hour before we change back into ourselves... Add the hairs." I had managed to get some girl hairs from a Syltherin who sits next to me in Muggle histories.  I looked at the disgusting looking drink resisting to urge to throw up. I held my breath and took a large chug of the drink instantly feeling ill. My head started ringing and my vision went blurry as the sound of glass breaking rang around me. I fell to my knees as I held my head in my hands within a few seconds the pain stopped and I felt a hand on my shoulder I looked up to see Goyle but when he spoke it was Harry's voice.

"Angie, you okay?" I nodded my head and stood up for us to leave I looked to Ron who was Crabbe before looking back to Harry.

"Wait, where's 'Mione?"

"I- I don't think I'm going. You go on without me!" Hermione's voice spoke up from one of the stalls.

"Hermione, are you okay?" Harry asked.

"Just go. You're wasting time!" With that we left quickly to get to the Syltherin common room. As we walked down towards the dungeons we were suddenly stopped by Ron's older brother Percy.

"Excuse me." We all turn around to face him Ron asking.

"What are you doing d-" Harry quickly elbowed him so he would put on his Crabbe voice. "uh, I mean... What are you doing down here?"

"I happen to be a school prefect. You, on the other hand, have no business wandering the corridors at this time of night. What are your names again?" The two started stammering not knowing what to say when a familiar voice rang out.

"Crabbe, Goyle! Where have you two been?" Draco walked up to us noticing me. "You, your Effie aren't you?" I nod my head. "You sit next to me in some classes let me guess these two were pigging out in the Great Hall all this time?" I nodded again when Draco frowned at Harry. "Why are you wearing glasses?"

"Ah- um... Reading." Harry stammers taking off his glasses.

"Reading?" Harry nods his head in agreement. "I didn't know you could read. And what are you doing down here, Weasley?"

"Mind your attitude, Malfoy." Percy says but Draco doesn't listen as as motions for us to follow him back to the common room. As we enter he then looks to Harry and Ron mainly but speaks to all of us.

"Well, sit down." We quickly find a space on the large sofa, I sat in between Harry and Ron. "You'd never know the Weasleys were pure-bloods, the way they behave. They're an embarrassment to the wizarding world. All of them." From where Draco was ranting he notices Ron clenching a fist. "What's wrong with you, Crabbe?" This time I elbow him to tell him to keep his cool.

"Ahem...Stomachache."

"You know, I'm surprised that the Daily Prophet hasn't done a report on all these attacks. I suppose Dumbledore is trying to hush it all up. Father always said Dumbledore was the worst thing that ever happened to this place."

"You're wrong!" Harry suddenly yells making me look at him in shock was he trying to blow our cover?.

"What? You think there's someone here who's worse than Dumbledore?" Harry goes silent thinking extremely hard. "Well? Do you?"

"Harry Potter?" Draco goes silent making the three of us panic for a second before he smirks at Harry.

"Good one, Goyle. You're absolutely right. Saint Potter. And people actually think that he's the Heir of Slytherin!" He walks over to a desk looking over a few papers as we look at each other in relief Harry's answer worked. "Hey, have you three seen a letter I need to send." I was slightly worried at this knowing full well it is most likely a letter for me. If he tells them its for me Harry and Ron will find out.

"Well who's the letter for?" Ron asks making my heart pick up waiting for the answer.

"You don't need to know that" Draco snaps quickly making me let out a small breath but I swore I could see a slight pink on his face. Harry tries to get the conversation back on topic as Draco sat on the desk.

"But then you must have some idea who's behind it all."

"You know I don't Goyle. I told you yesterday. How many times do I have to tell you? Is this yours?" He asks holding a small box when Harry shakes his head Draco pockets the box. "But my father did say this: It's been fifty years since the Chamber was opened. He wouldn't tell me who opened it-- only that they were expelled. The last time the Chamber of Secrets was opened, a Mudblood died. So, it's only a matter of time before one of them is killed this time. As for me, I hope it's Granger." Knowing we had to remain undercover I kept the murderous glare internal but Ron sprang up making me and Harry jump up to grab him but this makes Draco look at us suspiciously. "What's the matter with you two? You're acting very...odd."

"It's his... stomachache." Harry then turns Ron to him and whispers. "Calm down." Ron suddenly looks very scared and points to Harry's forehead.

"S- scar." My eyes widen as Harry's scar appeared and Ron's hair started turning red. We look at each other before quickly running out of the common room. By the time we got to the girls bathroom we had turned back to normal.

"Hermione, come out. We've got loads to tell you!" Harry yells but Hermione stays in the stall.

"Go away!" Myrtle flies from the stall smiling.

"Wait till you see. It's awful! He- ha, ha, he- hee!" I roll my eyes at her before we slowly open the door.

"Do you remember me telling you that the Polyjuice Potion was only for human transformations? It was cat's hair I plucked off Millicent Bulstrode's robes. Look at my face." My eyes widened slightly before I gave her a sympathetic look.

"Look at your tail!" Ron said making me smack him on the back of the head. We took Hermione to the hospital wing where madam Pomfrey took her from us. A few nights later I walked with Ron and Harry as Ron asked.

"Have either of you spoken to Hermione?"

"She should be out of hospital in a few days, when she stops coughing up fur balls... What's this?" Harry stopped himself as we saw a large amount of water on the floor. I rolled my eyes at this.

"Looks like Moaning Myrtle's flooded the bathroom. I really don't understand why she thinks this is a funny idea" As we enter we see Myrtle sat on the window. When she saw that we entered I noticed that she had been crying, she looked at us.

"Come to throw something else at me?"

"Why would I throw something at you?" Harry asked.

"Don't ask me! Here I am, minding my own business, and someone thinks it's funny to throw a book at me."

"But, it can't hurt if someone throws something at you. I mean, it'll just go right through you." Even though I wasn't a ghost I looked at Ron incredulously at his statement.

"Sure! Let's all throw books at Myrtle because she can't feel it! Ten points if you get through her stomach!" She through her fist through Ron's stomach. "Fifty points if it goes through her head!" And again she through her fist through his head.

"But, who threw it at you, anyway?" Harry asked.

"I don't know, I didn't see them. I was just sitting in the Ubend thinking about death - aah - and it fell through the top of my head." We look over to find a old looking leather book Harry goes and picks it up out of a puddle and tries to dry it off on his cloak. I don't know why but when I knew Harry was taking it with him I had a bad feeling about that book.

The next morning, I went to see Hermione out of the hospital wing on the way there I ran into Draco.

"Hey, Angel hang on a second" I turn around to Draco smiling, despite remembering what he said about Hermione the other night I had to pretend I didn't know what I said. "I got you something" I raised my eyebrow but was surprised when he fished out the small box he stole the other day. "I had to be pretty sneaky getting that out the other day I kept forgetting it and the one time I remembered I had to pocket it in front of Crabbe and Goyle and some other girl. Luckily they think I just took it" It made me feel slightly relieved that it was his anyway to give to me. "Don't open it just yet wait until later on" I agreed and put it in my cloak pocket.
