Chapter 10- the second year
After the summer went by Angelica couldn't wait to go back to Hogwarts she had kept in touch with all of her friends and her honorary big brother, Cedric, her and Draco also kept in touch in secret. However, despite writing to all of her friends she didn't get any responses from Harry which confused her a lot but she hoped she would see him in the school year. As the summer holiday came to it's last few days Angelica packed her bag ready for her school year as she would be spending the last few days with the Weasley's and go do her last minute shopping with them.
"Ellie! Come on, I'm dropping you off at the Burrow!" She then runs down the stairs and smiles at her Godfather.
"Okay, Okay, I'm ready" She held his hand and they apparated outside the Burrow and walked to the door Remus knocked on the door waiting for someone to answer. Molly Weasley answered the door smiling.
"Remus!" She exclaimed and hugged him before looking at Angelica. "and you must be Little Angelica?" Angelica just nodded feeling slightly shy before Molly hugged her gently.
"Thanks so much for watching her for the last few days and everything" Remus thanked.
"Oh, nonsense, Ron was talking none stop of how he was excited for Angelica staying over, besides it might be a good thing for Ginny to have a girl around her age to be friends with". After a few days of hanging out with the Weasley's Angelica found herself being woken up by the sound of a car. Looking out of her window she saw the boy's drive away in the flying car she chuckled knowing that they would be found out. Seeing as she was up and awake she went hunting in the nearby woods and by the time she came back the boys were still not back so she sat down on the dining room seat. She picked at her nails until she saw out of the corner of her eye all the Weasley boy's and Harry enter the room.
"I would not wanna be you guys right now" Fred raised his eyebrow at her.
"Why's that?" Angelica just pointed to the side of her as Mrs Weasley sprung out of nowhere glaring at her sons.
"Where have you been? Harry, how wonderful to see you dear. Beds empty! No note! Car gone! You could have died! You could have been seen! Of course, I don't blame you, Harry dear." Angelica smiled.
"That's why" Mrs Weasley looked at Angelica with a raised eyebrow making Angelica raise her hands in mock surrender.
"They were starving him, Mum. There were bars on his window!" Ron whined.
"Well, you'd best hope that I don't put bars on your window, Ronald Weasley! Come on Harry, time for a spot of breakfast. Here we are Harry. Now tuck in! That's it. There we go." Harry sat opposite of Angelica as Mrs Weasley brought out everyone's breakfast. "Are you sure you don't want anything, Angelica dear?" Angelica smiled kindly.
"No thank you, Mrs Weasley" Despite Mrs Weasley wanting to feed the young girl but she let it go as Ginny ran down the stairs. As Ginny and Angelica had been sharing a room for the past few days they had gotten closer and acted more like sisters then friends. When Ginny saw Angelica she gave her a tired smile and asked.
"El, have you seen my jumper?" Angelica thought for a minute before nodding with a wide smile.
"I think I saw a cat running away with it on it" Ginny suddenly saw Harry and Angelica smirked knowing Ginny had a huge crush on Harry. Harry saw Ginny staring at him in shock.
"Hello." Ginny didn't respond she instead ran off upstairs. "W-what did I do?" Ron looked up from his eating.
"Ginny. She's been talking about you all summer. A bit annoying really." Angelica scowled at Ron slightly.
"No it's not. It's sweet" Ron rolled his eyes but before he could retort Arthur Weasley entered the house.
"Morning, Weasleys." The Weaselys responded until he looked towards Angelica. "Morning Lupin" Angelica smirked at this.
"Good morning, Mr Weasley"
"What a night. Nine raids. Nine!" Arthur exclaimed sitting down at the table. Harry turned to Ron asking.
"Raids?"
"Dad works in the Ministry of Magic, in the Misuse of Muggle Artifacts Office. Dad loves Muggles, thinks they're fascinating." Molly placed Arthur's plate down in front of him.
"Well now. Aah!" Arthur then noticed Harry and asked. "And who are you?"
"Oh, sorry sir. I'm Harry, sir, Harry Potter."
"Good Lord! Are you really? Well, Ron's told us all about you, of course. When did he get here?" Angelica looked down at the table awkwardly wondering when this would be brought up.
"This morning. Your sons flew that enchanted car of yours to Surrey and back last night."
"Did you really? How'd it go? Did you—" Angelica quickly looked up surprised that he was actually happy that his son's had done this Molly had also been surprised because she snapped his name. "I mean...that was very wrong, indeed, boys. Very wrong of you. Now, Harry, you must know all about Muggles. Tell me, what exactly is the function of a rubber duck?" Angelica raised her eyebrow confused at this question when there was suddenly a pair of sqwarks.
"Well, that'll be Errol with the post." A brown owl suddenly slammed into the kitchen window. "Oh, fetch it will you Percy, please?" After Percy had opened the window and taken the mail Jinx swiftly flew passed Errol and landed gently on Angelica's shoulder. Angelica stroked the owl and took the mail and gave her a treat. The group watched as Errol seemed to be staring at Jinx who looked back before flying to sit next to him before they both flew out of the window together. The group of wizards and witches looked at the scene confused at what just happened before looking at the mail. They had all gotten their Hogwarts letters and were looking at the spell books for the year.
"This lot won't come cheap, Mum. The spell books alone are very expensive." Fred said worriedly.
"We'll manage. There's only one place we're going to get all of this. Diagon Alley." The group was now stood in front of a fireplace with Molly holding a flowerpot full of some black powder. She turns to Harry.
"Right. Here we are Harry, you go first dear." Harry looked very nervous at this and luckily Ron spoke up for him.
"But Harry's never travelled by Floo powder before, Mum." Harry looked even more confused turning to Angelica and asking.
"Floo powder?" Angelica looked to him and explained.
"It's basically a from of teleportation" Harry slowly nodded his head.
"Oh, well you go first Ron, so that Harry can see how it's done. Yes. In you go... That's it." Ron stood in the fireplace he grabbed a handful of Floo powder and yelled.
"Diagon Alley!" In a blast of green fire Ron had dissipated.
"You see? It's quite easy, dear. Don't be afraid. Come on. Come on. In you go. That's it, mind your head. That's right. Now take your Floo powder. That's it, very good. Now, don't forget to speak very, very clearly." Harry had stepped into the fireplace and taken the powder before yelling.
"'Diaganilly.'" Angelica frowned at this and even more so when Molly asked Arthur.
"What did he say, dear?"
"'Diaganilly.'"
"I thought he did." She then turned to Ginny and Angelica. "Why don't you two go now?" Both Angelica and Ginny stepped into the fireplace and grabbed the powder. They looked at each other, held each others hands and nodded.
"Diagon Alley!" They said together and after a matter of seconds they found themselves on Diagon Alley and not a few seconds later Molly and Arthur and the other Weasley boys followed after. After doing a little shopping most of the time Ginny and Angelica spoke to each other Angelica putting any of Ginny's worries of Hogwarts to rest. They had soon run into Hermione who had joined the group there next stop was the book shop but Hermione said she would stay back to wait for Harry. As the group waited inside the shop Harry came walking in Molly hugged the boy as she had been worried he had gone very far away.
"Oh, Harry! Thank goodness! We'd hoped you'd only gone one grate too far..." Suddenly a voice spoke up getting the crowds attention.
"Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Gilderoy Lockhart." Angelica looked forward and scrunched her face up at the sight of what seemed to be a very egotistical man showing off his newest books. There was suddenly a fuss to reach Gilderoy the people pushing ahead shoved Angelica backwards separating her from the others and knocking her down.
"How have you lasted this long, without me to pick you up Angel?" At that recognisable voice Angelica rolled her eyes and smirked. In front of her was Draco smirking but he had his hand out she grabbed his hand and let him help her up. They looked forward and Draco asked.
"So your not with the fan girls I see" Angelica chuckled at this.
"Oh, hell no this guy just seems like a complete idiot" this made Draco laugh. Suddenly the crowd went quiet as Harry was pulled up on stage for pictures. Angelica saw Draco glaring pure hatred aimed at Harry. Angelica placed a comforting hand on his arm. "Draco, please don't start anything" Draco seemed to calm down but when he saw Harry his glare started again and he charged toward him.
"I'll bet you loved that, didn't you, Potter? Famous Harry Potter! Can't even go into a bookshop without making the front page." Ginny walked forward glaring at Draco.
"Leave him alone." Draco smirked at this.
"Oh look, Potter. You've got yourself a girlfriend." Harry looked towards Angelica who was slightly frowning at Draco.
"Say's you Draco" Draco frowned at this.
"What's that supposed to mean, Potter?"
"Your little nickname for Angelica. What was it Angel?" Draco and Angelica blushed slightly but Draco glared at Harry going to hit him when a familiar cane head stopped him. Angelica glared at the owner of the cane.
"Now, now Draco, play nicely. Mr. Potter... Lucius Malfoy. We meet at last." Lucius then used his cane to move Harry's hair to see the scar. "Forgive me, your scar is legend, as, of course, is the wizard who gave it to you."
"Voldemort killed my parents. He was nothing more than a murderer."
"Hmm. You must be very brave, to mention his name...or very foolish." Angelica glared at him.
"That's the most stupidest thing I've heard." Hermione nodded to me.
"She's right fear of a name only increase fear of the thing itself" Lucius turned his attention to myself and Hermione.
"And you must be... Miss Granger and Miss Lupin. Yes, Draco's told me all about you, and your parents. And I remember meeting you and your... father at Christmas." I glared at this mention of Lupin he then turned back to Hermione. "Muggles, aren't they?" He then turned to the Weasley children. "Let me see...red hair... vacant expressions... tatty second hand book. You must be the Weasleys." This made Angelica start to go forward at this insult when she felt a hand on her wrist looking up she saw Draco almost pleading with her to stay quiet.
"Children, it's mad in here! Let's go outside." Arthur says walking up to the group.
"Well, well, well. Weasley senior."
"Lucius."
"Busy time at the Ministry, Arthur, all those extra raids? I do hope they're paying you overtime, but judging by the state of this, I'd say not." Lucius says whilst picking up Ginny's books. "What's the use in being a disgrace to the name of wizard if they don't even pay you well for it." Angelica couldn't bite her tongue anymore.
"I think we may have very different ideas about what disgraces the name of wizards Lucy" Angelica felt the hand on her wrist tighten slightly but not in anger but she could feel Draco's worry. Lucius looked at her his eyes landing on her sun ring before glaring at her.
"Clearly. Associating with Muggles... and I thought your family could sink no lower. I'll see you at work." With that he placed Ginny's books back into her cauldron.
"I'll see you round, Angel" But before he left Draco turned to Harry and glared. "See you at school."
