What Next?

"Ugh.... my head..." Before I open my eyes, I reach up to gently touch my forehead. It was throbbing in pain, and the worried yelps of a certain ghost-dog in my mind wasn't helping. I try to hush her, but my voice feels sore, as if I had been yelling for hours. As I feel my forehead, something feels off. Not with my head, but with my hand. It didn't.... spread... like I didn't have fingers to "feel" with. Slowly, I open my eyes, thankfully not blinded by light, to gaze at my....

HOOF?

"W-What... h-happened?" My voice barely makes an echo in the room I was laying in. The only light to show me where I was came from the television in front of me. It seems like I was left on the couch after.....

After He came....

Him....

My father....

Dread flows through me at the simple thought. There was just no way! He had stolen me from my home, my town, my village, my family! There was no way that... that THING was my....

And yet, look at where I am.

Slender's Mansion, full of murderers and monsters....

I shake my head. Not monsters. To humans, maybe, but they were NOT monsters... The only monster here...

Was me.

I sigh and carefully slide off the couch. The sound of my.... hooves... clanking on the wooden floor grates my ears, but it doesn't seem to disturb the others. On the couch next to me, where I had been resting, was Smile. White fur covers the couch next to him, along with dark stains and feathers. It seems I had been injured.... somehow. Leaning against the couch below Smile is Jeff, of course.

I can tell that BEN was in the TV, but he was also asleep, as his game was paused during the night. Toby and EJ were passed out at the kitchen table while LJ was sitting in a recliner nearby, slightly laughing in his sleep. Slender and Sally are nowhere to be seen.

Marble is barely a whisper in my head, and I can tell she's trying to tell me something. Something important. Maybe it has to do with how short I am? My head is only a foot above the sitting part of the couch!

I shake my head and quietly walk towards the stairs. Maybe my hooves don't wake them because they are so used to LJ's laughter in his sleep and Jeff's snoring. Mix in BEN's occasional static and you've got a band!

I stifle a giggle at my own joke before Marble's whine sets me back on track. Slowly, I make my way up the stairs, trying to understand how to use four feet at once. I know I should be startled and confused, but with how much has been revealed and changed already.... Nothing really shocks me anymore.

But what had happened?

I remember Slender telling me.... the truth... and I ran out before nearly face planting into Zal-him. After a small fight...

Everything goes blank.

And I wake up here, with four hooves, and a keen sense of smell.

A sense I wish I didn't have right now.

As I walk past Slender's door, I can smell blood. Fresh blood. It's quite a bit, but as I move closer, I can hear steady breathing. A twitch of my ears, and I can hear his heartbeat. It was normal, regular, smooth. He wasn't in any danger....

It must have to do with whatever Marble is still trying to tell me.

I need to get on the roof, clear my head, and be able to listen to her without distraction.

Making it to the end of the hall, I prop my front legs against the window sill and thank the heavens I can reach the lock still, despite my "shrinkage". Unlocking the window, I carefully open it and latch it in place. With ease, I am up on the sill, balancing on the thin area as I tuck in my wings so I can fit through. Apparently I am not a normal dog-size, or my wings just got a little larger.... or I'm not a dog. Though the fur on the couch says otherwise.

Shaking my head again, I cautiously jump off the ledge outside, spreading my wings to glide until I'm far enough away to begging flapping my wings. I easily make my way to the roof and land on a part that was mostly flat. The landing could have been quieter, but it's hard when you haven't used four feet in your entire life.... right? Or have I before?

Once again, I shake my head, clearing it of any distracting thoughts. I need to go straight to Marble, make a clear path for her voice. All the questions about my past can wait. I need to know what happened in that field.

I can hear her. She's becoming clearer. I close my eyes and focus. She sounds so far, but as I open my eyes, she is starting to materialize in front of me. Her voice is barely a whisper.

"You can barely hear me because Slender's static rendered you def for a while. You are still recovering...."

My eyes widen.

His static only gets that bad when he is severely injured, as if stabbed through the gut, nearly sliced in half, or if his tentacles are shredded.

When Marble's gaze falters at that last thought, I knew I hit something. "W-What.... were you t-trying to.... s-say earlier?" I croak out.

She hesitates, then sighs. "At least you are already sitting down. Listen carefully and just please, don't move or panic."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~(time skip no-jitsu)~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Then Slender carried you back home. He set you on the couch for Smile and EJ to watch you and take care of you, then he went to his room to rest. His tentacles were almost fully healed, but they were still tender. He is alright, though."
I blink, my eyes wide and filled with guilt. I can't believe I would do such a thing. To him, of all people! He's like the father I never had and always wanted! He actually cares about me and I just went and...
"You had snapped. Gone insane. It was not your fault, child."
I nearly jump out of my skin as Slender slowly makes his way into my view. He carefully lowers himself, hissing in pain in the process. "When any pasta snaps, they lose complete control of their body. Most do not recall what happened to them, and that is usually when their method of killing comes to light. Some, like yourself, also end up with a.... "catchphrase", for lack of better terms."
Marble nods, and a faint memory comes to mind.
"The Shadows call for your Blood."
As if agreeing, Marble nods, Slender does as well. I sometimes forget they can read my mind. His hand gently rests on my head, and the feeling is comforting. He begins to scratch slightly, and I realize now that I am, indeed, part wolf-dog-thing.... as in this kind of felt amazing. Marble barely contains her laugh. I sigh and slightly shift my head to lay on Slender's leg. He scoots closer and sighs. The moon slowly creeps across the sky over us, and the stars sparkle against the dark.
"I will tell you everything you need to know, even if you already know it, alright?" Slender says, gazing down at me.
".....Alright."
