False Truths
It couldn't be true. I won't believe it at all, I refuse to believe it. I had a past before that treacherous, monstrous, vile thing stole me away to see what made me tick. The pain against my whole being from the branches and trees slashing at me is barely anything compared to the possibility I was just told. I can feel Marble's worry for me, as I am moving too fast and could shred a wing, but I couldn't care less right now.
I don't know where I'm going.
I don't know why I didn't realize it sooner.
I don't know why Marble sided with Slen-
I come to a complete stop at break-neck speed, feeling Marble emerge from me confused.
"Deciding to go back n-"
"You knew."
Her eyes betray everything the moment I interrupt. They go wide, those big brown eyes I have always trusted with my life. When her gaze lowers, everything is confirmed and it takes everything inside me not to scream in rage. I feel her trying to calm me, but I violently shove it all away, feeling a slight crack form in he bond we had re-established. It hurt, and I could see it hurt her more, but I couldn't care less at the moment......
But now the moment's over, and I feel the tears fall down my face.
Falling to my knees, I let it all out in a flood of tears and uncontrollable sobs. Slowly, Marble approaches me, and I feel the crack start to fix itself. She places her muzzle under my chin and presses it upwards. Gazing up into her eyes, I can see the hurt she had been holding by not telling me, and I hug her with an even louder sob. She places one paw on my back to hug, and sighs.
"I never told you, because I didn't want you to believe you had to be just like him...."
I release her and look at her. Wiping my eyes, I sniffle. She continues. "You can be whatever you want, and I knew of your powers as well, but I said nothing because I wanted you to find out on your own.... Then maybe, just maybe...." She smiles. "You would believe you were made for so much more...."
I laugh and she does as well. Finally calming down, I grunt. "He didn't have to waltz in an announce it like that." Marble seems to agree as her face deadpans. "You do have a point there."
"But if he didn't, you never would have made it here........."
The voice sends shivers down my spine, and we both look over in fear at Him.
"Well, well, well. Couldn't take the news very well, could you darl-"
I am at his throat with my fist before he can finish, sending him flying backwards a few feet. Marble had merged back inside of me, giving me more strength and speed. I could feel the power growing, and I thank her for it. Coughing slightly, the sliver of red from his mouth makes me grin. He wipes at it, then smiles. "Good.... You have grown."
The ground shudders and I side step away just as a large tentacle explodes from the forest floor. Blasting my wings, I flit a few feet back, dodging two more. I prepare to attack if another appears, but when I go to see where he was....
He was gone.
With a gasp, I try to fly forward quickly, but not fast enough. A clawed hand clamps down on my ankle and the blades dig into my skin. I shriek in pain before He throws me away like a bag of trash. I try to steady myself with my wings, but one flip crashes a branch against the left wing, and I hold back a scream of pain.
Rolling into a clearing, I skid to a stop on one knee, an arm down to hold my body up. I huff and fold my right wing against my back to keep it safe for now. The other lays limp to my side, the bone shattered. I growl as I gaze up...
An elbow directly before my face. With a grunt, I roll to the side, feeling a graze from one of his horns on his shoulders. Halting my roll, I turn quickly and rush away, knowing I can't take him on yet. I'm not strong enough...
Right?
The day a few years ago pops into my mind, and even Marble seems to question our combined power. We both know what we saw.
He had be scared.
Hearing his footstep grow louder behind us, I twist quickly and slightly launch up. I feel pride as my foot cracks against his jaw, stopping him dead in his tracks. I swiftly twist my leg again and slam his head down into the ground. Without a second's hesitation, the moment my feet brush the ground, I swing my leg at his gut while my tail wraps around his throat. Although he was heavy, I use momentum and begin spinning in a circle until his body lifts from the ground. The sound of him gurgling and hacking for air seems to spark something in me, and I release his body over my head like a whip.
I could feel the bones in my wing moving, as if fixing itself, but it was slow and painful. I stifle a pained shout and quickly turn away, rushing the opposite direction. I wasn't stupid, and Marble was helping the healing along currently, so I didn't have the endurance to fight him this injured. I needed to hide, stay low, and stay quiet. Something inside of me was cracking, I could feel it. The hate inside of me, the revenge and rage growing, it was putting pressure on the crack on my sanity. It was threatening to take over, and I couldn't let that happen. It would kill us both.... I think. Marble only huffs to agree.
Unfortunately, I hear his hoof beats already growing louder behind me. He had transformed in rage, and I knew it was the end of me if he caug- You're healed! Fly, Alisa! Fly!
I blast my wings down and launch into the air. Twigs and branches scrape against my body, scoring into my skin, but I ignore it, focused on one goal. I could feel the air tremble as he follows close behind. I only needed to clear the treeline, then I would be fine. The treeline and I'm cle-
Something large barrels into my gut, slamming us backwards and crushing my spine against the ground. I howl in pain as we roll across the ground. I could feel his body pressed against mine, the horns on his shoulder digging into my own. With a growl, I flip us over and lift us into the air despite the protest of my back. Slugging his face, I try to push away from him, but his grip on my arm is impossible to break. With a devilish smirk, he swings his own fist and lands one square in my chest. I feel a rib crack, along with more of my control over my sanity. Enraged, I block his next fist with my arm, ignoring the sickening crack, and kick down. He may not be fully human....
But he is a guy.
His face scrunches in pain, and I feel his arm loosen ever so slightly. Ripping my arm from his grasp, I feel cold metal on my neck and the blue, flashing smoke covers my body. His eyes widen, and I smirk. With an easy flip, my foot slams into his face and he rockets down towards the ground. A new power fills me, and I feel the strain on my sanity break.
The blue smoke turns crimson red as I allow myself to descend.
The crimson red smoke turns black as I land.
Soon the sky is blotted out and all that's left are myself and this..... thing.
He had made me alone.
He tortured us.
He broke us.
He used us.
B r o k e us.
We were broken.
...........
"It's my turn to break now, father."
