Chapter 6 ~ Sunday Funday
The Thompson siblings gathered around the breakfast table, enjoying their morning meal.
Austin devoured his pancakes, excitement radiating from his face. "Who's up for a swim after breakfast? I got an awesome new swimsuit yesterday!"
Abi hesitated, then boasted, "I can swim! I got a sick cool green swimsuit."
Bryson hesitated, nose buried in his book. "I'm not swimming. I have some readings to catch up on."
Austin and Abi chimed in unison, "Come on, Bryson! It'll be fun!"
Bryson resisted, but they dragged him along, teasing him about being a bookworm.
"Let's go, Bryson! You can't miss out on the fun," Austin said.
"I'll read by the pool," Bryson compromised.
The siblings finished breakfast and headed to the indoor swimming pool located their mansions backyard.
As they changed into their swimsuits, Abi proudly showed off her green swimsuit.
Austin whistled. "Looking sharp, sis!"
Bryson chuckled. "You're rocking that green, Abi!"
At the pool, Abi hesitated at the water's edge.
Austin teased, "Come on, Abi! Show us your skills!"
Abi took a deep breath and stepped into the water.
But as soon as she let go of the side, she panicked and fell.
"Help! Help!" Abi shouted, flailing.
Austin and Bryson rushed to her aid, laughing.
"You said you could swim!" Austin chuckled.
Bryson grinned. "Guess not!"
The water was shallow, only four feet deep, but Abi's fear made it feel like an ocean.
Austin and Bryson held her up, teasing her mercilessly.
"You're drowning in four feet of water!" Austin joked.
Bryson chuckled. "Maybe we should get you floaties!"
Abi's face turned bright red as she realized her mistake.
"I...I just need to get used to it," Abi stammered.
Austin and Bryson continued to poke fun, but eventually helped Abi out of the pool.
As they settled onto lounge chairs, Abi grinned sheepishly.
"Guess I exaggerated my swimming skills."
Austin and Bryson burst into laughter
Just then
Rachel approached, smiling. "How was your swimming today?"
Austin opened his mouth to speak, it's was great mom , but the funniest part is that Abi...... before he could continue Abi quickly stood up.
"The funniest part is that, I taught them some cool swimming moves!" Abi exclaimed. "I'm very good at swimming. I showed them my skills."
Austin and Bryson exchanged skeptical glances.
Abi winked at them, silencing their potential teasing.
Austin nodded. "Yes, yes, she's right.
Bryson agreed. "Yeah, she's very right."
Austin added, "And She even showed us she could drown in a four-foot pool."
Austin chuckled.
What he means is that "Abi told a story about someone drowning in a four-foot pool." Bryson replied quickly
Rachel laughed. "Oh, Abi!
Abi shot Austin a "shut up" glance.
Rachel continued, "Well, I'm glad you all had fun. I almost posted on Facebook that Abi drowned in four feet of water."
The siblings chuckled.
Mom so you knew, Abi said looking at the sky
Yes , I know any that happens in this house. Abi's mom said why laughing.
Just then, Mrs. Smith arrived with refreshments.
"Refreshments, anyone?" Rachel asked.
The siblings grabbed drinks and snacks, grateful for the distraction.
As they enjoyed their treats, Rachel smiled. "Glad you're all having a great Sunday."
The afternoon sun shone down, casting a warm glow over the happy family
As they enjoyed their refreshments, Rachel asked, "So, what's the plan for the rest of the day?"
Austin shrugged. "No plans. Just relaxing."
Bryson nodded. "Yeah, it's been a chill day."
Abi grinned mischievously. "I'm thinking of trying out my new makeup kit."
Rachel smiled. "Sounds like fun. Need any help?"
Abi shook her head. "No, Mom. I've got this."
As they finished their snacks, Mrs. Smith appeared with a tray.
"More treats! Freshly baked cookies," she announced.
The siblings cheered, grabbing cookies and continuing their lazy Sunday afternoon.
As the sun began to set, Rachel reminded them, "Don't forget, tomorrow's the first day at Skyveiw Academy."
Austin, Bryson, and Abi exchanged excited glances.
"Time to put on our best faces," Austin said.
"And rock those uniforms," Bryson added.
Abi rolled her eyes. "Ugh, uniforms."
Rachel smiled. "It's a new chapter. Embrace it."
The evening unfolded with laughter, anticipation, and a hint of nervousness.
