Chapter 4 ~ The Big Move
Chapter 4: The Big Move
Abi snuggled deeper into her blankets, enjoying the warmth.
Austin burst into her room, flinging open the curtains. "Wake up, sleepyhead! It's 7:30!"
Abi groggily opened her eyes. "What's the rush? Mom said we're leaving by night."
Austin grinned mischievously. "Mom changed plans. We're leaving now."
Abi sat up, rubbing her eyes. "Why are you so cheerful?"
"I'm finally going to be rich!" Austin exclaimed. "I can buy whatever I want!"
Abi rolled her eyes. "You only think about money, Austin."
Bryson poked his head in. "Hey, guys! Limousines are here."
Abi's eyes widened. "Limousines?"
Downstairs, Rachel smiled. "Phoenix Corporation sent them. Let's get moving!"
Outside, five sleek black limousines waited.
"Whoa!" Bryson whispered. "This is insane!"
As they settled into the limousine, Abi felt a mix of emotions.
Excitement wrestled with nervousness.
The ride was smooth, the scenery blurring outside.
Finally, they arrived at a stunning Victorian mansion.
The siblings gasped in unison.
"Is this...our house?" Abi stammered.
Austin's eyes sparkled. "We're officially rich!"
Bryson explored the grounds. "This is epic!"
Rachel smiled. "Welcome home, kids."
As they stepped inside, Abi's jaw dropped.
Crystal chandeliers, marble floors, and lavish furnishings.
"Wow..." she breathed.
Their new life had begun.
Rachel smiled, spreading her arms wide. "This is your new home, kids. We chose it for comfort and happiness."
Austin's eyes widened. "Wait, are you kidding me? This house is huge!"
Bryson's face lit up. "Am I getting a private library?"
Rachel nodded. "You'll each have your own space."
John added, "Bryson, your room comes with a library and game station."
Austin chimed in, "What about me?"
John chuckled. "You'll have your own library and game room too, Austin."
Really that's great , But I don't need the library .
Abi jumped in, "And what about me?"
Rachel smiled. "You also have a game room and library in your room, sweetie."
The siblings exclaimed in unison, "Wow!"
Rachel continued, "And each of you will have a walk-in closet, not just a wardrobe."
The kids' eyes grew wider.
"For real?" Austin asked.
Rachel nodded. "Tomorrow, we'll go shopping to update your wardrobe to match our new lifestyle."
The siblings cheered, racing toward their rooms.
"I can't wait!" Abi squealed.
"Where's my room?" Bryson asked.
John laughed. "I'll show you, boys."
Rachel guided Abi to her room, while John took Austin and Bryson to theirs.
Abi's room was a princess's dream: plush bed, marble desk, and floor-to-ceiling bookshelves.
Rachel smiled. "Get settled, sweetie. We'll unpack later."
Meanwhile, Austin and Bryson explored their rooms, equally impressed.
"Whoa, my own game room!" Austin shouted.
Bryson grinned. "And my library is epic!"
As they settled in, the Thompson family felt grateful for this new chapter.
Abi entered her room, eyes scanning the space. "Mom, my bed looks...girly."
Rachel chuckled. "It's perfect for you, sweetie."
Abi pointed out, "And why is my room blue and pink? Can't it just be blue?"
Rachel smiled. "The pink accents are lovely. Give it a chance."
Abi pouted, "But I'm not really into pink."
Rachel reassured, "The blue dominates, and the pink just adds a touch. Trust me, it suits you."
Abi relented. "Fine, I'll keep it."
Rachel beamed. "Great! Now, let's talk shopping. Tomorrow, we'll get you the best clothes."
Abi's face lit up. "I trust you, Mom."
John entered, "Kids, you start school on Monday. Tomorrow's Saturday, so we'll get everything ready."
Rachel added, "Your school forms and materials will be delivered tomorrow evening."
Abi squealed, "Yay! New school, new beginnings!"
After Rachel left, Abi FaceTimed Emily.
"Wow, your room is gorgeous!" Emily exclaimed.
Abi showed off her room, spinning around. "I know, right?"
Emily asked, "Do you have a swimming pool?"
Abi grinned mischievously. "Yeah, and I'm going to learn how to swim."
Emily teased, "You don't even know how to swim?"
Abi laughed. "Shut up! I'll learn."
As they chatted, Abi gazed out the window at the expansive garden.
"Your backyard is huge!" Emily said.
Abi smiled. "I know. I'm going to explore every inch."
Before hanging up, Emily asked, "Are you happy?"
Abi nodded, "Yeah, I'm really happy."
Rachel called out, "Kids, come downstairs for lunch!"
The siblings eagerly obliged, entering the stunning dining room.
"Wow!" Abi exclaimed. "This is beautiful!"
Three smartly dressed staff members, Jenny, Mike, and Emma, greeted them.
"Welcome, Thompson family," Jenny said. "We're at your service. Just call us whenever you need anything."
John smiled. "Kids, meet your new household staff."
Austin's eyes widened. "We have staff now?"
Rachel nodded. "Yes, to make life easier."
John added, "And you each have a car, plus a dedicated limousine for school."
Abi's eyes sparkled. "Like Those black cars outside?"
John confirmed, "The same ones that picked you up from school. They'll arrive this evening."
Bryson asked, "So, we'll drive separate cars to school?"
John chuckled. "No, the limousine will take you all to school and back."
As they enjoyed lunch, the siblings chatted excitedly.
Afterward, Abi and Bryson joined Austin in his room, mesmerized by his massive game station.
"Whoa!" Bryson exclaimed. "This is epic!" But it's bigger than my own
Austin grinned. "Told you, I'm the gaming king!" So mine will definitely be bigger .
As they played, Abi teased, "You're going to turn into a gaming zombie!"
Austin retorted, "At least I won't be a bookworm like Bryson!"
Bryson defended, "Hey, reading is cool!"
Their laughter filled the room, enjoying their new life.
