Chapter 10~ A Dream Come True
Abi burst through the front door, eager to share her triumphant day with her family. Her mother, Rachel, greeted her with an enigmatic smile.
"Abi, I have fantastic news!" Rachel exclaimed.
Abi's curiosity piqued. "Mom, what happened?"
Rachel's eyes sparkled. "You've always dreamed of modeling, and I have exciting news. You're going to be the face of Phoenix Corporation's new tech phone!"
Abi's jaw dropped. "What?!"
Rachel nodded. "Their marketing team selected you as the perfect ambassador. They were looking for a fresh, confident face, and I convinced them you're ideal."
Abi squealed, jumping up and down. "This is amazing, Mom!"
Her brothers, Austin and Bryson, strolled into the room, intrigued by the commotion.
"What's going on?" Austin asked.
Rachel beamed. "Abi's going to model Phoenix Corporation's new phone."
Bryson grinned. "Congrats, sis! You'll rock it."
But Abi's excitement was short-lived, as Cora's words echoed in her mind: "Girls who wear pink are prettiest." Abi wondered if she truly fit the mold.
"Mom, why me? Why not a more... conventional model?" Abi asked.
Rachel's expression turned reassuring. "You possess a unique blend of confidence, kindness and beauty. Phoenix Corporation wants someone genuine, and that's you."
Abi's doubts dissipated, replaced by exhilaration.
Just then, her father, John, entered the room. "Abi, congratulations! We're proud of you."
As Abi basked in her family's praise, she couldn't wait to share the news with her best friend, Emmy.
Rushing to her room, Abi grabbed her phone and dialed Emmy's number.
"Emmy, you won't believe what just happened!" Abi exclaimed, barely containing her excitement.
Emmy's voice burst through the line. "What? Tell me!"
"I'm going to model Phoenix Corporation's new phone! I'm signing the contract tomorrow!" Abi blurted.
Emmy shrieked. "Oh my God, Abi! Congratulations! You deserve this!"
The two friends chatted enthusiastically, envisioning Abi's bright future in modeling.
As Abi ended the call, she felt a surge of gratitude toward her family and Emmy.
This opportunity wasn't just about fame; it was about embracing her true self.
With a beaming smile, Abi drifted off to sleep, visions of photo shoots and runway shows dancing in her mind.
Bryson knocked on Abi's door, interrupting her daydreams of modeling stardom.
"Hey, sis! Time to get ready. We're going out for dinner to celebrate your new modeling gig!" Bryson exclaimed.
Abi's eyes widened. "For real?"
Bryson nodded. "Yeah! Mom and Dad want to take us out. Get dressed, we're leaving soon!"
Abi squealed, scrambling to find the perfect outfit. She settled on a stunning short black gown, accentuating her curves. A pair of sleek black heels and a matching clutch completed her ensemble.
As she descended the stairs, her family gasped in unison.
"Wow, Abi! You look like a supermodel!" Austin exclaimed.
Bryson chuckled. "Or a secret agent – 'Abi, the spy'!"
Abi laughed, striking a pose. "It's the new trend, guys. Get used to it!"
Rachel beamed with pride. "You look beautiful, Abi. Let's go!"
The family piled into their luxurious SUV, bound for the renowned "Bella Vita" restaurant.
Upon arrival, the maître d' greeted them warmly. "Welcome to Bella Vita! Right this way, please."
As they entered the elegant dining area, the aroma of Italian cuisine wafted through the air. Soft music played in the background, setting the tone for a sophisticated evening.
Their waiter, Marco, presented menus and took drink orders. Abi opted for sparkling water, while her brothers chose soda.
Scanning the menu, Abi's eyes widened at the array of options. "Everything looks delicious!"
John smiled. "Order whatever you like, dear. Tonight's on us."
Abi selected the grilled chicken Alfredo, while her brothers chose pizza and pasta. Rachel ordered the seafood risotto.
As they awaited their meals, the family chatted excitedly about Abi's modeling venture.
"I'm so proud of you, Abi," Rachel said. "You're going to shine."
Austin teased, "Yeah, sis, you'll be famous soon. We'll need autographs!"
Bryson chuckled. "And we'll charge for them!"
Abi playfully rolled her eyes. "You guys are impossible."
Their meals arrived, and the family dug in, savoring the flavors.
"Mmm, this Alfredo is heavenly!" Abi raved.
Austin nodded, mouth full. "Best pizza ever!"
As they dined, laughter and conversation flowed freely.
Just as they finished dessert, a live band began playing lively music.
"Shall we dance?" John asked, offering Rachel his hand.
The family joined in, twirling and spinning to the rhythm.
Abi spun around, feeling carefree, her black gown shimmering under the lights.
In this joyful moment, Abi knew she was exactly where she belonged – surrounded by love and support.
As the evening drew to a close, John announced, "Alright, kids, let's call it a night. Abi has a big day tomorrow."
Abi nodded, still grinning from the unforgettable dinner and dance.
"Remember, Abi, a car will pick you up from school tomorrow for the contract signing at Phoenix Corporation," Rachel reminded.
Abi confirmed, "Got it, Mom. No problem."
The family filed into their sleek Sierra Vera SUV, contentment filling the air.
Upon arriving home, Abi sprinted to her mother, enveloping her in a tight hug.
"Mom, thanks again! I'm beyond happy!" Abi exclaimed.
Rachel smiled, stroking Abi's hair. "It's your dream, sweetie. And the pay is impressive. But remember, we agreed – you'll give Dad and me half, and keep half for yourself."
Abi giggled. "Deal, Mom! You got it."
John chuckled, joining the embrace. "We're proud of you, Abi. Your future shines bright."
As they hugged, Austin and Bryson exchanged knowing glances, happy to see their sister thriving.
With hearts full of joy and anticipation, the Thompsons retired to their cozy bedrooms, visions of Abi's modeling success dancing in their minds.
