One shot
Everything started with her. Who you ask? Terri Whitehead, she moved here last summer and ever since there have been weird things going on. For example disappearances, murders, floating objects, and some people say they see ghosts.
Please hold all the skeptic questions till the end. Don't get me wrong I didn't believe either but Terri sure made a believer out of me. But if you still don't believe me, you will soon. So get ready grab, your snacks, a blanket, and a dog if you're feeling extra skeptic.
Because you will believe even if it kills me, which it almost did. I lived through it and so can you. And no matter what happens please remember that it was all, totally, and one hundred percent Terri's fault. Not mine, no matter what she tells you it wasn't my fault.
Also if you have a soft spot for dogs well, never mind you'll just have to wait and see. Enjoy, wait actually if you enjoy what happens in my life and you find it humorous then maybe you should see a therapist.
"Davey Alexander Drew! Stop playing video games and come do your chores. Now!" That would be my mom before this all happened, she never understood that video games play an important role in a growing boy's life. But did that stop her from yelling my name all the way from downstairs, nope that would be too hard for her. "Coming mom!" I slide down the banister like I usually do and I stick the landing. Yes! The crowd goes wild 'Go Davey!' 'Yes! We love you!' "Davey, how many times have I told you not to slide down that banister?" My mom said walking in from the living room. "A lot." I mumbled. "Then why do you continue to try to give me a heart attack?" "MOM I'm seventeen, if I can drive then I can slide!" "Not while you're living under my roof, my house, my rules." "Whatever." I took an apple from the kitchen and checked my phone. Holy cheese! Its 7:58 am, I have to go to school.
I go to a private school called Dodson High, School of the rich and the pampered not really but it feels like it, which lets us go to school at 8 and be home by 3, awesome right? "Got to go mom, love you goodbye." I ran out the door and got onto my Harley Davidson, its jet black. I made it to school, parked, and ran to my first period, math. I made it to class just as Mr. Lockwood was about to lock his door. "I don't tolerate tardiness Mr. Drew; please take a seat next to Miss Whitehead." "Who?" He pointed to a girl wearing all black with blonde hair. "Oh okay." I walked over, put my stuff down, and sat in the seat. "Hi." She lifted her head up and glared then put her head back down. "Hey Drew." Who's Drew? "Um I am Davey not Drew." "I know but I'm going to call you Drew." Oh she calls people by their last names. "Because I like the name Drew better, not because I call people by their last names." Did I just say that out loud? "Did I just say that out loud?" "Say what?" Huh weird, anyway I don't think I've seen her around, maybe she's new? "Never mind, are yo-" I was cut off by the bell. "Bye Drew and I'm new by the way moved here yesterday." Wait what how did she know I was thinking that. Huh weird oh well I probably had a confused look on my face.
On my way home I saw a little old lady walking home, I knew I wasn't supposed to talk to strangers but she seemed nice. So I went up to her and said "Hello!" "Oh hello dear." "Why are you walking home all by yourself ma'am?" "Well, my granddaughter Terri said it was a lovely day out to take a stroll so here I am." "Terri, as in Terri Whitehead? She's in my math class, she kind of scares me." "Oh well I best be off. Goodbye." I started walking away when she muttered "I curse this boy and his entire town" huh ok weird
The next day I went to school and everyone was talking about how Peter Morgan was missing, how April Turner was killed, and how Kaleb York was found talking to a wall. Of course he said that he wasn't talking to a wall that he was talking to the founder of Dodson High, who has been dead for a few years now. Now our town was never one with a lot of crime, nothing ever weird ever and I mean ever happened in the town of Mulberry. So being the idiot I am, I was curious and I went to investigate for myself. I got to April's house and saw a white room speckled with red. Her body lay across the floor; the police everywhere like an infestation. Her bed in ruins and tatters, her body in even worse shape. If I hadn't known for sure that this was April, I wouldn't have been able to tell it was her. She was black and blue all over. I walked over to the police and overheard their conversation. "Her parents found her like this, they said it was horrific and went home." The tall police woman said. "What else did they say?" the short police man asked "They said the last word April spoke before she died was 'Davey Drew', but his mom says he was at home at the time of the murder." They thought it was me? Unbelievable, why did April have to say my name? "Anything else?" "Yes, they said her dog was found petrified stuck like a statue, on the ceiling. But they're just a bunch of crazy people." On the ceiling? That is kind of creepy.
A week later, the mayor ordered a town meeting. "Citizens of Mulberry, I come bearing bad news. There was a bomb found in the ground today. We originally had thought it was benign, but as it turns out it wasn't. We need to evacuate immediately! Take nothing but the necessities! The crowd ran screaming to their homes. As for my mom, who had fainted, she was laying on the ground as pale as the snow she was laying on. I shook her, but it was to no avail. I felt her pulse but yet she was dead, so I did what came naturally. I ran. I ran for my life, for my family, for Terri. In the past week we had grown closer and closer and I couldn't imagine my life without her. And I knew that since my mom was dead Terri was my only family left. I got to her house and saw Miss Whitehead walking out carrying her cane in one hand and her passport in the other. I ran passed her and into the house. "Terri! Terri? TERRI!" Oh gosh, where is she? I saw her laying down on her bed, sleeping. "Terri!" she didn't move, so I climbed on her bed and shook her. She made a humming noise. Then out of nowhere a force field appeared, surrounding both of us. I moved and hit the force field with my head, by accident. Then black, all I saw was darkness and then a single ray of light appeared. I ran towards it, but it kept getting smaller and smaller. Until I awoke, opening my eyes to see what had become of the little town I called home. But the town I knew, the world I knew was gone. Nothing was saved, nobody spared except me and Terri.
Some may say that was when my life ended but really it was just beginning. I now spend my life with my wife Terri Drew, my three kids April, Kaleb, and Peter, and all of my wonderful grandchildren. We were the new generation, We were the hope, the little ray of light. And it all started with The Girl in my math class.
