Miko looked at me and then looked toward the way home, tapping his thumb against the steering wheel. He didn't say a word while he looked at me and then at the road, silently waiting for me to explain to him what happened and why I was crying, running toward the door.

Worry filled his eyes, and I could tell that he didn't like it at all, especially since I normally didn't run out of the building like that when I was upset.

I didn't say a word and was curled up by the passenger door, putting a lot of space between the two of us, which was not normal for us at all. Tears continued to stream down my face but had almost fully stopped because I had been crying for a long while.

My best friend sighed and drummed his fingers against the steering wheel before he cleared his throat. "So are we going to talk, Lex?" he asked and looked at me, raising an eyebrow in question. "Or are you going to go ahead and continue to mope?"

"Mope," I replied, earning a small snort from him while he rolled his eyes. I curled myself into a tighter ball and closed my eyes, covering my head with my arms and biting the inside of my lip. "I am going to mope."

Miko scoffed a laugh and rolled his eyes. "Come on, Luther," he teased before he grabbed hold of one of my belt loops and pulled me toward him, and I groaned in annoyance but continued to have myself in a curled up ball. "Don't do that. Don't mope. Who can frown when you are next to a face like mine?" He flashed me a small smirk and a wink, even though I wasn't looking at him.

"Me," I rolled coldly while I wrinkled my nose and pursed my lips in annoyance. "I can." I tried to shift myself closer to the door but couldn't because Miko had his finger still through one of my belt loops.

Miko gasped out in shock and surprise. "What?" he asked with a small pout in his voice, and his voice became higher. "What do you mean that you are able to mope in a presence like me? How could you? I am fabulous." He flung his head dramatically, and his hair whipped back and forth.

I rolled my eyes and scowled, pressing my lips into a thin line. "You are fabulously an idiot, Miko," I said while I tried to get to the door again. "Now, will you let me go? I don't want to be near you."

"Well, I don't want to," he said and shook his head. "Not until you tell me what's wrong or give me one of your amazing smiles."

I rolled my eyes again and turned to look at him to see that he was looking at me with a deadpanned look on his face.

I bit back a small snort and rolled my eyes again before I gave him a sarcastic smile before it turned back into a frown. "There, I smiled. Can you now let me go, please?" I asked and raised an eyebrow in question while I studied him.

Miko scoffed a laugh and rolled his eyes before he looked at the road again, pursing his lips in annoyance. "That was not a good smile, and you know it, Lex," he said. "Give me a better smile than that and then I will think about letting you go."

I grumbled something under my breath and turned to look away from him. I didn't say a word or give him a better smile than the one I had given him, and my best friend snickered, amused.

"Fine," he said and tucked his head closer to his chest while he pulled me closer to him. "Then I am not going to let you go. You wouldn't do what I want you to do, so now I am not going to do what you want me to do."

He looked at me, closed his eyes, and stuck out his tongue while he grabbed my belt loop tighter in his fingers.

"Miko, pay attention to the fucking road!" I gasped out loud when the truck started to swerve to the side. My heart stopped beating in my chest, and I grabbed the seat tighter while my mouth grew dry.

Oh Gods...

Miko snickered and fixed his mistake, turning his attention back to the road. "Awwww, did your life flash through your eyes, Luther?" he teased and patted my leg, releasing my belt loop so that he could do that. "Did you really think that I would do that to you?"

"I just saw my life flash before my eyes," I said, my voice barely above a whisper and breathless. "So yes, I think you would do it even if it was by accident."

Miko chuckled and patted my leg. "I wouldn't do that to you, Alex," he teased and flashed me a small smirk and a wink. "You shouldn't worry about it."

I scoffed a laugh and rolled my eyes. "Very funny, Miko," I grumbled with a small pout on my face. I folded my arms across my chest before I cleared my throat and shifted in my seat. "At least it got you to let go of me so that I can m-"

I was interrupted when Miko moved me back to the middle of the bench seat, and I bit back a small groan of annoyance. "Miko," I said with a small whine in my voice.

"Luther," Miko said and narrowed his eyes while he scowled playfully. "That is your spot. I do not know why you think any differently."

"Because I don't like sitting next to someone who smells," I shot back while I pursed my lips in annoyance and narrowed his eyes. "Did you even take a shower after hockey?"

My best friend gasped out in shock. "How dare you, Alexandria May," he said. "I do not stink, and I did take a shower after hockey. If anything, it is you who stinks, so..." He shoved me to the passenger side, and I couldn't help but gasp out loud and smack him in the chest.

"Hey, hey, hey," he said and swatted at me. "Don't hit the driver or else I could do this." He swerved the car, and I gasped out loud and grabbed the "oh shit" bar and my seat.

"MIKO!" I exclaimed, earning a snicker from him. "What the actual hell?"

"That is what I could do." He flashed me a smirk and a wink before he looked at the road. "But I don't."

"You just did," I grumbled while I folded my arms across my chest and bit back a small scowl. "What am I going to do with you?" I asked and raised an eyebrow in question.

He shrugged and grimaced, even though a small smile appeared on his face. "Don't know," he said and shook his head. "I could think of a few things, but I would like to keep everything attached and where it should be." He flashed me a small smirk and a wink.

I rolled my eyes and scowled, pressing my lips into a thin line. "Very funny, Miko," I grumbled while I scowled and pressed my lips into a thin line. "Very funny indeed."
