Twin Trouble

Here is yet, another reminder not to steal someone's stories! Hopefully this is the last time I need to say this! And to Eixheir, the person stealing from me, I'm tired of this! I don't have a problem with you continuing your story, but waiting for me to publish a new chapter just to copy and paste is just messed up! Copying my profile layout is also messed up btw! I have some different plans for these upcoming chapters, so please just leave me and my stories alone! If this continues, I will delete my stories! -Mal.

Molly, Scratch, Darryl, and I overheard Mom and Dad talking downstairs one day, sounding very worried. We decided to check in on them. "What?" Mom asked. "Oh, no! Oh, no, no, no, no!" "Sharon, it's fine." Dad reassured her. "We can get through this." "Pete, I love you, but I just don't know if we're strong enough!" Mom gasped. "Uh, Mom? Dad? Is everything okay?" Molly asked. "Kids... the twins are coming!" Mom exclaimed. "Uncle Billy and Aunt Jilly?!" Molly gasped with excitement. "Oh, we haven't seen them in forever!" Darryl exclaimed. "The other set of McGee twins?" I asked. "Is that bad?" "Obviously!" Scratch replied. "Houseguests? Uh, no thanks." "Those two have tormented your father ever since they were little!" Mom explained, showing us an old picture of Uncle Billy and Aunt Jilly humiliating Dad. "Oh, you just keep that?" Dad asked. "And every single time they visit, he goes back to being that scared unconfident kid he was in Boston." Mom continued. "Pfft! Honey! That's not gonna happen!" Dad scoffed. "I'm a grown man. They can't bully me anymore." The doorbell rang at that moment and Dad answered the door. "Silly McGee!" The twins greeted. "Billy! Jilly! Welcome!" Dad exclaimed. "Hey, Billy, you hungry?" Aunt Jilly asked. "Oh, I'm stah-ving Jilly." Uncle Billy replied. "I got a real hankering for... a silly sandwich!" Uncle Billy and Aunt Jilly came inside and squeezed Dad in the middle. "Ooh, with a side of silly fries!" Uncle Billy continued as he and Aunt Jilly gave Dad a Wet Willy. "See? Houseguests. Terrible idea." Scratch whispered as Aunt Jilly pulled us into a hug. "Aw! These three cuties! Springing up like weeds!" Aunt Jilly exclaimed. "I haven't seen you kids in a while, what with your old man moving around so much." Uncle Billy said, nudging Dad. "It's like he can't hold down a job or something." "Ha. Good one." Dad commented. "Yes, we moved around a lot. But hey, we found a place to finally call home in beautiful Brighton. Why don't I show you to the spacious and tastefully decorated guest room?" Uncle Billy and Aunt Jilly tossed their luggage on top of Dad and ran upstairs. "Race ya!" Uncle Billy shouted. "What do you carry in these things?" Dad asked as Mom helped him with the luggage. "They are..." I began. "Kinda mean?" Molly asked. "No, wicked awesome!" Darryl exclaimed. "You want me to scare them away?" Scratch asked. "I'm trying out this new thing where I spin my whole head around. Came up with this on my own. I totally didn't see it in a movie." "Yeah, that's looking very good, Scratch." Molly complimented. "But let's just keep an eye on them for now? Maybe?" "Wait till you see it with the bulging eyes!" Scratch strained. "Ooh! That is a good feature." I said. "Now I'm going back to the attic."

As usual, I decided to head up to the attic to do some reading. I probably got about a half hour of reading done when Molly and Scratch came back up. "Hey, Moll. Hey, Scratch." I greeted. "What's up?" "Desperate times call for desperate measures." Molly explained, going in the drawer under her bed as I went back to reading. "I promised myself I would never open this box of things that make me sad, but we've got to lure those Sobgoblins away from Dad." Scratch grabbed his boombox and played a sad song. "Can you turn that down, Scratch?" I asked. "I'm setting the mood, Amber!" Scratch explained as I rolled my eyes and Molly put up another one of her posters. "Oh, man. Look at him, Scratch." Molly whimpered. "You know, he's hanging in there as long as he can! But can he make it to Friday? I'm not sure!" "Did you put up that cat poster from your Box of Sadness?" I asked. "Get more sad. It's working!" Scratch whispered. "It is? Yay!" Molly gasped. "No, no, no, no! Wrong way, Moll." Scratch warned. "Think about the kitten! The 40 hour work week! The corporate slog. It's too much for him! It's too much for anyone!" "Uh, you're right!" Molly cried. "Yes, Molly!" Scratch encouraged. "Give into the sadness." "It's only Tuesday!" Molly bawled, blowing her nose with Scratch. "Okay, I'm letting go with it." He said. "Every time." I commented, putting on my headphones to drown out the sound. "Aww! They're so cute!" Molly cooed, immediately slapping herself. "Oh, no! You can't distract me with your adorable-osity! I'm gonna kill you guys with kindness!" Everything was fine for a few minutes, until Molly began crying again. "What is it now?" I asked. "Amber! Don't look!" Scratch warned. I looked, just to make him mad. I saw these little ghosts that reminded me of tadpoles almost. They could probably fit in my hand. "Meh. I've seen cuter." I said, going back to my book. "Shoo, sobgoblins!" Scratch shouted as the sobgoblins left me alone. "Amber, that was incredible! How'd you do that?" "I'm not sure." I replied. "I don't really care to be honest." "Wait! That's it! You're already miserable!" Scratch gasped. "Those sobgoblins are sucking all the joy out of him. Maybe you're the key to helping your Dad!" "Is that why Molly's been uncontrollably crying?" I asked. "She seems so... lifeless." "Yeah." Scratch agreed. "And I should know. I'm dead." "I hate to admit it, Scratch, but you're right." I said. "What's the plan?"

Going into the town, Scratch and I went after the sobgoblins that were chasing Dad while Uncle Billy and Aunt Jilly continued teasing him. Molly also tagged along since she was feeling a little better. Our plan consisted of me acting as live bait for the sobgoblins to try and trick them. While the plan worked for a while, the sobgoblins caught on and ignored me. Despite already being miserable, I had to stay strong. For Dad. For Molly. For everyone.

After failing to stop the sobgoblins, we all went to the diner in town for dinner. When I walked in, the sobgoblins were going after Mom now. "Mom?" I asked as Mom moped to the table. "Oh, no." "We didn't stop the sobgoblins, Scratch." Molly sighed. "Come on, let's enjoy our last meal before life becomes so bleak we never enjoy anything ever again." Scratch said as we both helped Molly walk. "Okay. Mac and cheese?" Molly asked. "Now you're talking." I replied.

After dinner, Uncle Billy and Aunt Jilly ordered a slice of carrot cake for Dad. "Happy birthday, baby brother." Uncle Billy said. "It's good to have you back." "Isn't Dad's birthday in September?" I wondered. "You guys, I got it!" Darryl exclaimed. "My -illy name is Chilly. 'Cause I'm so cool." "Ooh, Chilly McGee!" Uncle Billy complimented. "Oh, that's a good one there!" "Chilly McGee!" Aunt Jilly added. "I like it. It fits ya." "Hey, Molly! How would you like a side of "Chilly" Cheese fries?" Darryl teased, giving a wet willy to Molly. "Ew, Darryl!" Molly complained. "Gross!" "Hey! Leave her alone, you pest!" I snapped as Darryl did the same thing to me and started laughing. "You are so dead!" "Gonna grow up just like us, kid." Uncle Billy laughed. "Not Darryl, too." Mom gasped as the sobgoblins began multiplying again. "Enough! My name is not Silly! It's Pete! And that's Darryl!" Dad snapped, taking off his shirt and nerd glasses, and his skin was no longer faded. "I am done being a Silly McGee! And my birthday is in September!" "You tell them, Pete!" Mom encouraged. "Yeah! Show them who's boss, Dad!" I exclaimed. "Scratch, look! The sobgoblins are weakening!" Molly whispered. "I'm not that kid you pushed around anymore!" Dad shouted. "Why can't you see me as an accomplished adult?! I have a loving family and a great job and..." All of a sudden, Uncle Billy and Aunt Jilly began bawling. "We get it! You're better than us!" Aunt Jilly cried. "What?" Dad asked. "Our whole lives, you've been showing off, making us feel like losers!" Uncle Billy whimpered. "And now you got your fancy job, your fancy family, and your fancy house!" "With its spacious and tastefully decorated guest room!" Aunt Jilly added. "We ain't got none of that!" Uncle Billy cried along with Aunt Jilly as the sobgoblins targeted them. "Oh, Billy, Jilly, I never meant to make you feel bad." Dad explained. "I just wanted your respect." "Uh, maybe we don't show it so good, but we got nothing but respect for you." Aunt Jilly confessed. "We love you, baby brother!" Uncle Billy added. "We're proud of you, too!" "What do you say, bury the hatchet with a Silly Sandwich?" Dad asked. "Nah! We'll give you a Petey Sandwich." Uncle Billy replied as he and Aunt Jilly hugged Dad. "I'm gonna kiss your head!" Aunt Jilly said. "Guys!" Molly gasped. "I know how to get rid of the sobgoblins!" "How?" I wondered. "Group hug!" Molly shouted as we all pulled into a hug and the sobgoblins vanished. "Not so tough anymore, are ya punks?" Scratch taunted one of the remaining sobgoblins. "I'm so proud of this family." Dad said, noticing the mayor outside of the diner window. "Oh, hello, Mr Mayor. Family time."
