Slowly gaining his consciousness Steve tried to open his eyes slowly. Everything looked blurred and unclear.
Steve tried to move his arms, but realized that his hands, legs and waist has been fastened to the table on which he was lying.

His vision became clear,now,he noticed Mark and the old man staring at him with a malevolent expression on their faces.Steve can feel the agony of the stroke at the back of his head. The stroke which was responsible for his current situation.

Steve spoke in a low voice

"Curse you,Mark!..."

"Haha....,it's too early, Steve. You'll get more opportunities to curse me. It's just the beginning and by the way, so many people have cursed me already so,I doubt if your curse will get counted."

"What are you planning to do this time, monster ?" Steve whispered

"Plan, yeah,it's going well till now and I'm sure it will go like this till the end."

"Till now?...''

"Yep,what were you thinking? You think you're the one who got me? No,my friend, I got you.
I sent my assistant Jerry to your fiancé to inform her that I'm doing some dubious and terrible experiment. As expected, she went to you and narrated everything I wanted her to and I knew after listening to all this you won't be able to resist your temptation to stop me from doing whatever I'm trying to do hence, you came here.

Following my application address you reached at the apartment where I used to live months ago..."

"And you didn't even pay the bills" Steve interrupted

Mark frowned at him and continued
"Yeah, that house owner broke some of my useful apparatus so that was her punishment....anyways, you met this old friend of mine outside of that apartment"

Mark pointed towards the same old man who had brought Steve to Mark's lab.
The man was holding some sort of rod which he had used earlier to hit Steve.
Steve glanced at him with disdain.

"And now,you're here about to witness the initiation of a reign of terror very soon"
Mark completed.

"You have already kept it a secret for too long. Will you please at least tell me what the hell are you planning to do?"
Steve demand

"The plan is to take revenge from everyone who made me feel worthless. I've been working on this experiment since 4 years and now it seems like it's ready.

I've created a mutagen which could actually cause mutation in the AKT1 gene to cause Proteus syndrome."

"You're kidding, right? It's a congenital disorder. Hope you know that..."

"Of course, I do know that it's a congenital disorder. That's why it took me so long to plan and implement everything."

"Even if you've created something that could mutate AKT1, you won't be able to get the symptoms immediately after its insertion"

"I've created a mutagen-enzyme complex for that very purpose. This enzyme complex could increase the rate of occurrence of symptoms by 30X times, how about that,Steve?"

Woo,sounds like a terrible plan. But this was just the first part of this catastrophic plan.
