Everything got settled, almost.
The thing about which Steve and Vinnie were concerned now is the disease which was spreading throughout Steve's body very quickly.

"What do we do,now?" Vinnie asked very anxiously.

"First, we need to return to Amsterdam." Steve replied.

Vinnie and Steve returned back to Amsterdam and started looking for a solution to their problem.

They both went to the lab to meet Mr.Chu. He got astonished after listening to the whole story and they discussed what their next step should be.

"Can't we use gene therapy to treat this disease, I mean just like we do in the case of Cancer?" Mr.Chu suggested.

"No,it's different from cancer and it's more dangerous. Mark has inserted the mutagen in my body and now even if I destroy the tumours by the therapy, it will return back." Steve said

"Then what we're going to do now?" Vinnie demanded.

"This is the problem with cancer too,it could return back, but I've been working on this ..." Steve said

"Working on what?" Vinnie asked curiously

"A chemical that could treat cancer and even Proteus syndrome but,"

"But what? " Vinnie yelled.

"I'm not sure if it will work, plus it will only work after gene therapy, it will stop the growth the tumours in my body"

"Then what are you waiting for.." Vinnie said widening her eyes .

"You're right. I'll have to try it. I don't have any other option .
I'll prepare my chemical now." Steve said with determination.

"What?But how will you do that, sir? You know,Scientists are still working on that." Mr.Chu asked

"Oh,it seems like they have underestimated nature,my friend.Come help me,I'll tell you what I'll do." Steve said with a warm smile and started moving towards the direction where bottle of different chemicals were kept.

"Ye...Yes, "Mr.Chu said and followed Steve.

They both headed towards the right corner of the lab and started preparing the chemical Steve was talking about. Mr.Chu just followed his instructions.

After an hour

"It's ready" Steve declared.

"Finally" Mr.Chu whispered.
"But you didn't tell me how will it work ?"

" Oh,yeah...first tell me, do you like lobsters?"

"Eh...in Dinner? Yes,I do, " Mr.Chu said with an uneasy smile on his slothy face.

"They're my secret. You know they are immortal and according to the experiment, I've performed on them,they can resist tumour growth. Their body has this enzyme called telomerase, which keeps their telomere from wearing off. Cancer cells (tumours) Uses same technique. Why don't lobsters get tumours? I've figured out and here,it's the secret of this chemical. "

Mr.Chu was gaping at Steve and was surprised to know all this.

"Now let's do it." Steve said.

Steve's symptoms were treated with the help of gene therapy and after the removal of tumours, he was given the chemical he has prepared to resist any further growth of tumours.

The chemical worked and the symptoms didn't appear again. This discovery eased the pain of many cancer patients and Steve got rewarded for this groundbreaking discovery.

After a few months, Steve and Vinnie got married and yes Vinnie got her gift,her pendant;)
