The Academy Arrival
Your POV
The shuttle shook as it entered the atmosphere of Geonosis. My bag sat between my legs, not having the space to go elsewhere. The other five seats were occupied by various species, all wearing the same uniform I did. I may not know anyone around me, but I knew our purpose.
To defeat the Republic.
It was a common goal amongst the Separatist movement. Well, the goal was to be noticed and taken seriously, but as future CIS military officers, our's was victory over the Republic. But before service, we needed training. That was why we are on Geonosis. Apparently us six in this shuttle are apart of the last training group.
Why it was the last group, I dont know. But I'll make sure my preformance is better than normal. The shuttle shook once more, the sound of metal hitting metal echoed. The door to the cockpit opened, a thin limbed droid comming out. "We have arrived! Please exit with your things!" It said.
The back opened up, and I was the last out. My duffle bag was slung over my shoulder as I walked down the ramp and into the hanger in the side of a rocky mountain. Battle ready droids marched here and there as geonosans flew overhead. Other ships carrying cadets unloaded their passengers around the hanger.
"All cadets! All cadets! Group up on me!" Another thin limbed droid announced, although this one had brown markings. I fell in with the crowd, that had formed. "You have been offered to train, then serve as officers for our military. Follow me for further instruction." It said, turning around.
We followed it through the halls of the facility. Chatter broke out as I counted the number of cadets. 50. Finally after a bit of walking we came upon a teaching like room. Rows upon rows of seats at an elongated table going up faced a podium and wall mounted screen.
"Have a seat. The Admiral will be here shortly." The droid said, standing next to the podium. I decided to take a seat at the back. There were more seats than cadets, so only one other sat at the back. I took note of the many hologram emiters scattered throught the room.
The double doors opened one more time, a humanoid spider like species walked through them. All eyes were on him as he took his spot behind the podium. "I am Admiral Trench! You all have been gathered here today to receive training to defeat the Republic!" He said, looking over us all.
"It is here you will be trained to lead the droid armies of the Separatist movement. It's a proven fact that organics can think better, plan better, and LEAD better than droids ever can. It's true that the Republic has few forces, but even a small force can be troublesome with a Jedi at the helm." Trench said.
"I have been through multiple battles, survived death more times than one can count. This here is a B1 battle droid, given a brown paintjob to appoint it my second assistant." Trench explained, using one of his many hands to point at the thin limbed droid. I noted it's weak looking design.
"It's not effective alone, but in massive groups it can take on big threats. More will be explained tomorrow. Being passed to you is a datapad that once it scans your DNA will be only accessable to you, or relavent staff." Trench explained as the B1 passed around the datapads.
I took the one given to me. I felt it buzz slightly before the screen was transittioned to a selection of many things. "Click on the MAP. It will show you where your room is, and what path to take." Trench said. Turns out, my room wasnt that far. We went over a few more things aswell.
Like destination marking, how to open the schedule, and other things that were not worth talking about. "For now, you are free to go memorize places for the rest of the day. For those who passed the self defense and open carry test, a blaster set to stun have been placed in your room." Trench explained.
The room cleared out quickly. The Admiral left with the droid through a staff only door, making me the last to leave. I sighed before picking up my bag and going to my room. It was only a minute of walking until I came upon my place for the next six months.
It was small in size, and surprisingly low tech. A bed with storage cabinets above and below, with shelfs to the sides. A door to my right lead to the refresher (bathroom) with a laundromat machine inside. Overall it was a simple, efficent, and good enough for low cost, mass replication.
(Replace the red with blue)
My blaster sat on the bed, along with it's holster, and a pair of thick f/c (Favorite Color) gloves. I was told the thing had heat problems, even when stuck on stun. So I spent some credits to have the gloves made. By no means am I poor. But I'm not gonna flex it with fancy shit.
Most of my things were actually cheap. A little money goes a long way in looks thanks to light. I put the things on a shelf before unpacking my bag. I only brought some clothes, a few hygine products, the "Book Of Battles" by Yip Yap The Destroyer, and a few peices of odd jewlery.
Really, I had more storage space than I knew what to do with. An announcement came over the speakers of the facility. "All cadets. It is time to return to your rooms and rest. Your datapads have alarms set for three hours before tomorrow's first class." A voice of a B1 announced.
I got dressed in the appropriate garments after a short shower. "I wonder what the food's like." I thought as I drifted off to sleep.
Arrival down, six months to go.
(999 Words. Just one short of a thousand. See you next time where I try to write three clases in one chapter.)
