Group Assignment

Your POV

I sat in my seat, Kest and Braun sitting near me as we waiting for Kee to enter the classroom. Four months have passed since the simulated battle. Kest has become a friend, Braun has become a good friend, and I've gotten better at space combat.

Thats it.

Now the three of us are waiting for Kee to get here so he can explain what this upcomming announcement is. Luckily, we did'nt have to wait much longer as he came straight through the door with his tactical droid following him.

"Alright cadets. As you might've heard on the holonet, tensions are rising between us and the Republic faster than before. In response to a violent incident, high command has ordered many things to be done. One of them is that each of you is to now have a bodyguard escort." Kee explained.

Whispering instantly errupted among us. "So, I guess things are gonna get a lot more stricter." Kest whispered to me and Braun. "Silence! Now, along with a bodyguard, you have also been given access to more droids, and can now let others in your workshop. With permission of course." Kee explained.

"Now, if you look on your datapads, a more indepth explanation of the changes has been sent. You're all free to leave now, but by tomorrow you will need to present a single new variant of the droids given to you. You can work as a group, or go it alone. Bring the droid with you tomorrow." And with that, Kee left.

"So, wanna join up?" Kest asked Braun. "Sure. Y/n?" Braun asked me. "Yes. Lets do this in my workshop." I said. "Where else?" Kest asked as we got up and left. "We should do something applicable to space warfare. We already have enough ground forces." Braun said.

"So what? A type of pilot? The B1 rocket droid already has low gravity combat covered." Kest said as we entered my workshop. "Then what about a boarding unit? To infiltrate and destroy enemy ships from the inside?" I said as TT-69 entered from a new room.

"Sir, I have counted and made of list of the new units provided to you." TT-69 said, giving me his datapad. "Thank you 69." I thanked. "Lets read that before doing anything else." Braun said. I nodded before reading the list aloud. "Twenty B1s, five B2s, and a Dwarf Spider Droid." I said.

"Good, now back on topic, what would make this unit better than just sending any of the regular units?" Kest asked. "Simple. We do what I did for the heavy B1s. Clean up and specialize it's programming to target key systems." I explained.

"So a special B1 unit that enters ships to take them down from the inside. It'll need to have something heavy to take out the key systems, but also have a good weapon to take on the crew." Braun though aloud.

"Why don't you two figure out the loadout, while I get the droid ready." I suggested. "Sounds good to me. You, Braun?" Kest asked. Braun nodded. "TT-69, help them get the weapons." I ordered as I entered the room he originally left. In it was a larger door for the Dwarf droid to get through, and rows of my droids.

I walked up to one of the new B1s, and used my datapad to activate him. He unfolded up. "Follow me." I instructed. "Roger Roger." It replied, having it's programming not cleaned up. It followed me back into the main room, where Braun, Kest, and TT-69 already had the loadout assembled and on a table.

"Oh wow." The droid said. "Clamp it." I told TT-69. He nodded, and pressed a button on his datapad. A mechanical crane came from the roof and grabbed the droid. The crane moved the B1 to my programming bench and a few wires automatically attached.

"What did you guys get?" I asked as I started typing on a nearby terminal. "We chose the standard E-5, four thermal detonators, and a rocket launcher." Kest explained. "A rocket launcher?" I asked as I continued typing.

"We thought it would be useful for the key systems and stationary defenses." Braun said. "Well, I have though of a paint scheme. How about a green upper torso?" I asked. "Basic, enough to get the point across, sure." Braun agreed. Kest just nodded his head.

TT-69 reached into a crate and grabbed a bucket of darkish-green paint, along with two brushes. "Wait, you dont use the auto-painter?" Kest asked. "It broke." I explained. "Have you contacted someone to fix it?" Braun asked.

"Yes. They have'nt come yet." I said before pressing a big button on the side of the terminal. The B1, now with cleaned up and upgraded programming stood still as TT-69 and I opened the paint bucket, then went to painting it. "Have you two figured out a name?" I asked.

"A few. We got the B1 Marine, the B1 Infiltrator, and the B1-SD." Kest explained. "The Infiltrator has already been used for the Commando Droids as a nickname." Braun said. "SD? Ship destroyer?" I asked, stroking another line.

"Wow, good job Y/n, now you read at a fifth grade level." Kest joked. "Kriff you." I joked back as Braun remained silent. "So, we already cast our votes for which name. You wanna cast yours?" Kest asked. "What are the votes so far?" I asked, getting a tool to dry the paint.

"B1 Infiltrator and Marine." Braun said. "Marine. Infiltrator is too spy like for a droid that carries a rocket launcher." I cast my vote. "Told you." Braun said to Kest. "Aw." Kest simply whined. "Did you really try to out predict an Iktotchi?" I asked, turning and raising and eyebrow.

"Yeah. Why?" Kest asked confused. "HA!" I laughed before devolving into a fit of giggles. "Ha. Ha. Ha. Ha." TT-69 laughed alongside me. Kest just look at us even more confused. "Read a holobook Kest." Braun said as I calmed down.

"T-the paints done." I said, composing myself. A smile staying on my face. "Looks nice. Just like your smile." Kest flirted. I blushed. "Well, let's get it equipped and prepared for tomorrow." Braun butted in. I nodded, pulling my hat down a little bit.

And with that, we outfitted the B1. Kest and Braun left soon after that. I patted the droid before letting TT-69 take it to his personal charging station. I left for my room after that.

(1082 words. I do not plan on writing about the assignment's result. It'll just be another unit you use from now on. Also, the droid marine is from the 2005 battlefront 2. Not my own creation. Bye guys.)
