Rings and pronouns (Ch 3)
(Dan's POV)
I feel like a boy today. I guess I have to tell Phil. We have been friends for ten days. Today is the eighth day of school. I felt like a girl all those days. Hopefully Phil accepts me. We are such close friends even though we have only known each other for a short period of time. I still don't know if he was kidding on the first day of school. I'm surprised he hasn't noticed I was born as male.
(Phil's POV)
I have known Dan for 10 days. I'm pretty sure she is transgender but honestly I don't know. Maybe she will tell me one day. I will obviously accept her. That would be mean if I didn't seeing as I'm gay and told the whole class on the first day. Well Dan and I are very close friends.
<Three hours later>
"Hey Dan." I say. Turns out we have third period (Social Studies), fourth period (Lunch), sixth period (Math) and seventh period (Science) together. Mrs. Wiliks lets us talk until the bell rings and we are always here before the bell. Today she is wearing a black shirt with a solar eclipse on it and black skinny jeans like I'm wearing. "Phil, I have to tell you something." She looks worried. "Alright, you can tell me anything." I say trying to make her less nervous. "Phil, in gender fluid." She says looking like she is about to cry. "Sh. It's ok don't cry." I say hugging Dan. "What pronouns are you today? Oh no did I mess up your pronouns, I'm sorry if I did." I say. "No I was she/her pronouns until today since we met." I sigh in relief. "Today I'm he/him pronouns." He says.
<The Next Day>
(Dan's POV)
I'm still a boy. I'm so glad Phil accepted me. He also told me he was gay. That's good to know. I am at social studies before him which never happens. He comes in with a present. "Hi Phil, who's birthday?" I say when he sits. "Hi Dan, it's no ones birthday. But I got you something." He says giving me the present. I open it. Rings. One blue with he and him engraved on it, one pink with she and him engraved on it, and one alternating pink and blue with they/them engraved on it. "The pink is she/her pronouns, the blue is he/him pronouns and the alternating is they/them pronouns so I don't have to ask everyday." He explains. "Oh Phil thank you so much." I say. I put the blue one on my wrist and put the other two in my backpack. "He/Him got it." Phil says. He is so sweet.
