Jack's POV

"Oof!" I landed on my stomach. I grabbed my staff and looked around quickly, Tooth was beside me but she was unconscious. North was beside her. Sandy was on my left.

"You all right mate?" Bunny handed out a hand. "We had a pretty rough landing."

"We most certainly did." I agreed and pulled myself up. "Thanks Bunny."

"Let's wake up the rest and figure out what we got ourselves into." Bunny said as he crouched down to Sandy. "Wake up sleepy head."

"Tooth? North?" I quickly shook them awake.

"Wha-What happened?" North got up on his feet. He helped Tooth up as well.

"Oh my, where are we?" Tooth looked left and right.

Sandy waved his hands about, getting our attention. First was a question mark then it was the gateway and he made a lot of gestures which I could not understand.

"What's he asking?" I whispered to North.

"You're right Sandy." Bunny nodded.

"What? What is it?" I asked.

"He's asking where's the gateway. Think about it Jack, we went through the gateway on Burgess, so shouldn't we come out on the other side of it?" Tooth explained.

"But now, as you can see, there is no gateway behind us!" North continued.

"Does that mean we're trapped here?!" I asked.

"Quit panicking before you go insane." Bunny pushed me. "North has his snow globes, he can take us back anytime."

"Right, right. I forgot. So, where are we anyway? I can see grass, blue sky, we're still at Earth, right? Just not Burgess." I stated.

"You make a good point." Tooth nodded. "Who knows? Maybe we're in Japan or Australia or something."

I flew up to get a better view of our surroundings. Here looks like a town. I spotted a kid and flew to him.

"Hey kid, can you tell me where I am?" I flew down to him.

"Ooh, are you superman?" He asked.

"Am I what?" I asked. "Never mind, I'm not whatever you think I am. Can I just know what is this place?"

The rest of the Guardians joined me. The minute the kid saw Bunny he screamed. "A gigantic rabbit has come to kill is all!" And he ran for his life.

"Wait, kid!" I wanted to chase him but was stopped by North. I glared at Bunny. "Good going killer rabbit!"

"Excuse me?! I don't control how I look!" Bunny snapped.

"That's weird. If he sees you, means he believes in the Easter Bunny. I wonder what got him screaming if he believes of your existence." North wondered out loud.

"Oh well, let's look for someone else to ask." Tooth sighed.

The first we tried was going to a mini market. The shopkeeper caught sight of us and screamed and fainted. We didn't even do anything yet!

"I didn't know adults believed in us too." I muttered. "Or at least, one of us."

"Why in the world do they fear us? The kid ran away, and now this lady fainted." Bunny asked.

"Well maybe this part of the world is not used to magical beings like us." Tooth replied.

"But if they can see us means we're believed in." I argued.

And so we passed by more buildings. Every door was slammed shut when we got close to it. We tried to talk to the people there but they all ran away from us. It seemed that they were frightened by us. What was going on? Where are we? I am almost 100% sure this isn't Earth, but another world. Just like one of the rumours of the gateway!

All of a sudden, I felt a pain in my body and fell down. "Jack!" The Guardians rushed to me.

"It's nothing. I think I tripped." I assured.

"I don't think that's it..." Tooth pointed a trembling finger at me. "Your hair!"

"What?!" I panicked as I grabbed one of North's snow globes to see my reflection. To my horror, there was a streak of my white hair, turning brown!

Bunny suddenly collapsed. We quickly tried to wake him up. He was twitching uncontrollably.

"Ahhh..." Tooth said in pain. "Something... Something's happening with my wings...."

Oh my what is happening to all of us... I glanced at it. It was perfectly fine, nothing was wrong with her wings. "Are you all right?" I asked.

Bunny opened his eyes wide and knocked into North's belly since he got up so abruptly. "I... Felt... Something!" Bunny exclaimed.

"What is it? What's happening?!" I asked.

"I don't know! I felt an intense pain in my wings, it's felt like they were shrinking, being pulled out of me!" Tooth replied.

"And you, Bunny?" North asked.

"I can't describe it! I have no idea what it was! I felt like my life got sucked out of me or something!" Bunny replied in panic.

"Jack?" North turned to me.

"I felt a sharp pain in me. Like a hole, something came out from me. Something... Drained out from me..." I explained. I looked back at my hair, that streak looked like me before I became Jack Frost, before my hair change from brown to white. What's going on? Why am I changing?

"Well uhm... Sandy? Anything happening to you?" North asked and Sandy shook his head.

"What about you North? Anything with you?" I asked.

"Nope, nothing at all. I was panicking with the 3 of you in pain at the same time." North said.

"What WAS that anyway? Why did it happen to the three of us?" Tooth asked.

"Don't worry, what's important is that we're fine now. We'll figure this out later. We better get going." Bunny suggested.

As I grabbed my staff, I felt something different. But I didn't not know what it was. I didn't think much of it and quickly walked with the rest.

Tooth came beside me. "Jack, I need you to hold on to this. You're the only one with pockets here." She handed out a flower. "I picked this back at the gateway, and now I feel like it might be a key to getting back." I nodded and stuffed it into the pocket of my hoodie.

"Hey look, it's a school." I pointed. "There's bound to be someone who can talk to us and help us."

I saw the name of the school, Alternia High School. North pushed the doors open. And there were people, plenty! Everyone looked at us weirdly.

"Look, the circus is in town." "Look at that guy in gold over there." "There's a rabbit mascot among them." Those were among the whispers and chuckles as we walked around. We tried to talk to the students but they ignored us. All they did was laugh at us.

"Excuse me! Excuse me!" Tooth called out desperately. "Can anyone help us?!"

"What are you, grandpa? An emo, perhaps?" One boy who passed by pushed me and laughed. I got so mad that I wanted to freeze him.

"Now who are you calling grandpa?" I threatened. He didn't answer and walked along. Oh you're messing with the wrong guy buddy. I made a snowball and threw at his head. I giggled and quickly followed the rest of the Guardians.

"So, after a look, I've concluded that this school is full of unhelpful people!" Tooth said crossly.

"They're quite a lot of bullies too. They're making fun of me!" Bunny grumbled.

"You're not the only one!" North said. "These people can't recognise me, Santa Claus?"

A shadow suddenly spread all over the floor. All the students immediately edged to the sides of the lockers. "It's them!" "Quick, hide!" "Run!" Some were trembling. They were fearful of whatever that was happening.

"We gotta hide, whatever that's coming. It ain't good. I feel it, in my belly!" North said and ran with Bunny.

I spotted a few figures walking down the hallway. Tooth gave me a nudge. "Up there!" She said and flew up.

Sandy and I flew all the way up, and there we hid. Sandy made a bench out of his sand. A hole was created at the wall. Bunny came out of the wall with North and landed on it.

"So, what's going on?" I asked.

"Let's find out." North said.

There was a group of people walking down the idle, smirking. Whoever they are, they must really be ruling this school since everyone seems to be so afraid of them. A large group of bullies would be my guess.

Let's see, there were one, two, three, four, five of them. The fifth person got my immediate attention. He was all in black with gold colour eyes.

"No..." North gasped.

"It..." Tooth whispered.

"Can't..." Bunny trailed off.

"Be..." I shook my head in disbelief.

"Pitch!" We said at the same time.
