Chapter 55

Third Person POV

The people of Burgess, one by one, they stepped out of their homes, full of confidence after overcoming their fears. There was not a single nightmare left in the town. They looked up and saw the gang, glowing with all sorts of colours, about to take down Pitch. The people's confidence gave the ones in the sky a boost of energy.

Aidan looked down at them, smiling widely, thinking he was gonna cry. "You did good, Aidan." Darrel gave him a pat of the back. "Now don't get all full of yourself, but if it wasn't for you, we couldn't have reached this far. Credit's all yours for the people of Burgess."

Aidan turned to Darrel, letting a tear trickle down his cheek. "That's the nicest thing you've ever said to me, Darrel. I... I just can't believe that I did that. I'm so proud of them. I've said it once, I'll say it again, the people are the true heroes."

In the meantime, Pitch was still trying to break free, he knew it was quite impossible, but that's exactly what he thought when he first started his quest for revenge, so he took his chances, wanting to do the impossible again. But Sandy made sure that the cage Pitch was in was escape-proof.

Elsa and Jack tried converging, they held their hands together and felt an energy flowing through them, a violent snow storm appeared out of nowhere. A tree was immediately uprooted. "Woah..." Elsa said. And they quickly stopped it before anyone got hurt.

"In all my years... I could never have done something that destructive!" Jack exclaimed.

"And that," Grand Pabbie said. "Is why convergence can be powerful and deadly. Anyway, would the lot of you get started?"

More confident than ever, everyone joined hands. For those who weren't involved, Grand Pabbie and the rest kept their distance.

"Now, focus, channel your energy, you must do it together, everyone has a part to play." Grand Pabbie instructed.

Jamie, Monty, Caleb, Claude, Pippa and Cupcake joined hands too, silently praying.

The rest closed their eyes and concentrated, feeling a burst of energy. It's as if a lightning bolt struck them, which transmitted from person to person. A part of everyone's aura separated from them, converging into a long stream of colours which began to surround them like a tornado and glowed brighter than ever.

They could hear Manny, from time to time guiding them on what they needed to do. Then they realised why Manny wanted them to converge, he wanted to imprison Pitch once and for all, in the moon, and Manny needed their help. Pitch could hear Manny too, he sighed with regret and braced himself for the worst. I'm sorry I couldn't be who you wanted me to be... Pitch said in his mind.

"Now!" Everyone yelled in unison. They felt something manifesting inside them. A bright light shone from them, even their eyes. For a few of them, their hair rose. For others, sparks exploded out of them. Immediately, their energy and power converged into a great big ball. They then let their hands go and channelled the converged power towards Pitch. It circled Pitch and slowly proceeded to the moon. Pitch was immediately weakened, he let out a scream of pain, "NOOOOO!!!" He yelled and collapsed momentarily. Instantly, all the darkness Pitch had brought to Burgess vanished, the trees that died because of Pitch's nightmares were restored.

Pitch, who was just inches away from the moon, looked down at the rest, with practically no emotion at all. He wasn't thinking or feeling anything, not revenge, sadness, anger or regret. He was then sealed into the moon. Everyone could see a shadow of him on the moon before vanishing a few seconds later.

Olaf immediately fainted after that. He wasn't the only one, Tooth, Hiccup, Rapunzel and Cleo fainted too.

"It was a bit too much for them." Grand Pabbie explained. "After all, this is the first time any of you have ever done something like this, something this powerful. It can be overwhelming for certain people, especially non-magic users. Sometimes you just can't take too much power manifesting in you."

"No kidding..." Eugene panted. "I don't know why, but I feel absolutely exhausted! And I barely did anything!"

Everyone was obviously worn out, so Ethan, Sandy and Jack quickly made everyone land safely before they were dropped to their deaths.

"It's... Over... It's finally over..." Jack breathed heavily, looking at the moon.

"Um... Guys?" Astrid asked nervously. A white light was behind her, slowly forming a portal. There was the exact same thing behind Elinor, Valka, Grand Pabbie, Sven, Pascal and Maximus.

"Well then... Spoke too soon!" Jack grumbled. "What's our problem now?!"

"I get it. Because Pitch is now gone, everything he's done is undoing itself." Aidan said. "You guys were brought here by a spell, by Pitch's spell, and now it's coming undone. Don't worry, you're just going home."

"And I think we're going back too." Merida said, suddenly lifted up into the air, followed by North. "After all, we didn't follow the rules to get back home, we didn't properly assemble the objects yet, we chased after Pitch and jumped into the portal, his portal."

"The gateway is pulling us back..." Kristoff understood.

Jack turned to Jamie. "Don't worry, we'll be back before you even know it!"

Elinor, Astrid, Valka, Grand Pabbie, Sven, Pascal and Maximus vanished into the portal, they were back home. As for the rest, they were lifted towards the gateway, leaving Jamie, Monty, Caleb, Claude, Pippa and Cupcake, waving goodbye at them.

Jack's POV

In a flash, we were back in Alternia. As soon as Aidan, Cleo, Darrel, Ethan and Isabelle touched the ground, they sparkled, life was suddenly restored to the town. It was much more colourful, many plants were coming back to life, the gloomy sky became a bright and sunny day. People slowly came out of their houses, sensing that the fear Pitch had done was gone. There was no reason for them to be afraid now.

Suddenly, six figures came falling out from the sky, it was Big Hero 6!

"Guys!" I gasped in disbelief, giving Baymax a hug. "Oh it's so good to see you!"

We helped them up as they tried to adjust themselves, looking around in disbelief, gasping for breath. Words weren't needed to describe what they have been through since Pitch had tossed them into the unknown, the look on their faces was enough.

"Jack! Oh, good to see you're all right!" Hiro said. "What did we miss?"

"Thanks." I grinned. "The six of you have a lot of catching up to do."

Aidan, Cleo, Darrel, Ethan and Isabelle suddenly levitated into the sky. They didn't look sure of themselves, none of us knew what was going on. The symbols on their palms shone with a bright light and created a circle, a portal.

One by one, a person popped out of the portal. "Mark?" They gasped in disbelief. "Kelly? Sid? Sonia? Chelsea? Irene? Karen? Gerrard? Helen? Kenny? Sam? Dean?"

The five of them descended to the ground and ran to those who popped out of the portal. "Is... Is it really you?" Cleo asked, with tears in her eyes.

"We saw you! We saw Pitch... Throw you in..." Isabelle continued, crying as well.

Ethan didn't need any words, he pulled his old friend, Mark into a tight hug, silently sobbing.

"It's... Good... To see you again..." Aidan said in between tears.

"I'd never thought I see you again..." Darrel bit his lip, trying not to cry. He gave Kenny a hug.

The rest of us looked at each other, we were quite obviously touched. I remember back when we first came to Alternia, it had been mentioned that their friends were either dead or Pitch had thrown them into a world of unknown. And now... They finally get to see their long lost friends again. I wiped a tear from my cheek.

After we were formally introduced to everyone, we got to work. Aidan, Cleo, Darrel, Ethan and Isabelle tagged along. We had hidden our objects in Tiana's basement, thank goodness everything was still in one piece.

There were the four flowers and the leaf from the gateway. We arranged them in a circle and I placed my staff. It's funny to think that my staff was what represented Burgess all along...

Rapunzel placed a purple cloth which had a symbol of Corona, a sun, sewn on it. "Maximus had one on him." She explained.

Eugene chuckled. "When they said something to symbolise where you come from, I didn't expect literally a symbol."

For Arendelle, Anna had a pendant with her. Merida placed her bow and arrow down. Hiccup pulled out his dagger.

"All right, now for the four of us." I gestured to Anna, Merida and Rapunzel.

We took each other's hands and and surrounded the objects. The four of our auras suddenly lit up again as the objects began to move and swirl around. I saw a snowflake escape out of me, an autumn leaf from Merida, a sun from Rapunzel and a flower from Anna. Then, everyone else's auras lit up too. We had confronted The Nightmares, so we have passed the test. And so our quest was finished.

As promised in the riddle, a portal was formed. I swear the amount of portals I have seen today... Cut it out Jack.

All of us let out a sigh of relief. It was our way home, what we've been looking for all this while.

Suddenly the large book from the magical forest appeared in front of us.

"What is that?!" Aidan panicked.

"Uh... The wise ones?" Hiccup replied. "It's their way of communicating."

You have passed the test, and finished your quest. You've proved yourselves to truly be a part of us...

Our palms glowed as I saw something forming on mine. It was the DreamWorks logo. I looked over at Elsa's, she had the Disney logo. Just like the wise ones had listed out, we had our respective logos on our palms.

With these symbols, you are now able to travel between 6 worlds, Alternia, Arendelle, Burgess, Corona, Scotland and Berk.

"Cool!" Olaf exclaimed.

"Well, I guess this is goodbye." Ethan extended his hand to me. "Come visit us?"

"Of course, someone's gotta teach you how to control the wind." I shook his hand, winking at him.

"We can't thank you enough for what you've done for us, for the whole town." Cleo said.

"Thank you too." Rapunzel gave her a hug.

"We'll totally visit you and maybe someday you should come to Arendelle for a visit! I'll give you a tour." Anna said.

"I'm totally gonna try this out once I reach home." Merida looked at her palm.

We said our goodbyes, promising to pay a visit to Alternia. Olaf said he will do that immediately after he checked on Sven. "I miss him so much!" He would say.

We stepped into the portal. True enough, there were two large diamonds with the logo Disney and DreamWorks on it, just as promised.

"Well guys," I spoke up. "I just wanna say that it was absolutely an amazing journey with all of you."

"It was definitely an incredible experience, an adventure that was absolutely magical." Hiccup continued.

"I'm happy to be able to know you guys." Rapunzel said.

It was quite obvious that none of us wanted to touch the right diamond just yet, we've been through so much together, a goodbye will be taking a while, even though we can visit each other whenever we want. Anna was hugging Rapunzel like she never wanted to let go.

"Teach me how to ride a dragon?" Merida chuckled, looking at Hiccup.

"Front door's open." He smiled back, holding her hand and gave her a kiss.

I turned to Elsa, threw her a hug and kissed her.

"There's something I wanna tell you, just gotta get it off my chest." I said.

"And what's that?" Elsa ruffled my hair.

"You know," I started. "This adventure had its ups and downs, which really put all of us to the test. It's just... All of us have been through so much. Like, for me, I've been captured by Pitch, tortured, could've died, nearly got killed back in that crystal cave thanks to that huge cobra, placed under a dark spell, Pitch took control of me, turned dark side, nearly giving him the ultimate power, almost gave up hope in Burgess when Pitch was about to kill me, twice."

I held Elsa's hand tight. "But you know what? I would be more than willing do it all over again if I had to."

"Why?" Elsa asked.

"Because..." I kissed her. "I crossed the gateway that led to you."
