Chapter 53

Aidan's POV

Come on Aidan, concentrate, anything is possible now! All right, I just have to believe in myself and trust my powers. Believe in myself and trust my powers, ok. You can do this, just focus! Trust my powers, trust my powers. Of course half an hour ago I didn't even know I have powers! I slapped myself. Focus!

Pitch was still busy monologuing, typical cliche type of villain you see in the movies, which was definitely not what I was expecting from him. What Jack said, "So what now? We give them moral support? Tell them it's gonna be all right? We're the good guys and we're  gonna save the day?" may have just been a way to save not just us, but the whole town.

I now have the power of nature, I'm wondering whether I can actually use The Voice Of Nature to reach out to people.

But what are the chances that they would listen? Heck, they would most likely have the same reaction as mine when I was seven. A ghost talking to them, that'll creep them out even more. Come on Aidan, anything is possible!

"Cover me." I whispered to Cleo. "I have no idea what I'm doing but I'm hoping it'll work. Just help me out if I get busted, ok?"

"What?" Cleo asked in confusion.

"Shh!" I said. "Cause if this works, I might accidentally get this to Pitch too. Not quite sure whether I can control who to talk to."

"Aidan, what are you doing?!" Cleo whispered.

"I'll tell you if it works." I whispered back.

I glanced at Pitch, I knew it was only a matter of time before he breaks out and starts killing everyone. I'm actually quite surprised on how calm he is. Come on, for someone like him who's been craving for revenge for such a long time, he's keeping his composure very well. Hopefully none of us will make him snap out of it so soon.

Nature... I call upon you to aid me. Can you help me reach out to people? Please... Allow them to hear me!

Suddenly, I was looking at a different place. I soon realised that I was actually looking through nature, one of the plants of this town. I shifted to another plant, this time it was inside a house.

Oh my gosh... This is so weird and cool at the same time!

"Who's there?!" I heard a panic-stricken voice.

Wait... They can hear me! Oh thank you, nature!

"Mom!" I heard a child cry. "There's someone... In the... House..."

"Shhh... It gonna be all right, sweetheart." I then heard the mom.

North was right, people have barricaded themselves in the house, the front door had furniture shoved against it, I couldn't see anyone, most likely hiding in the basement, or in a room.

Uh... Microphone test, one two three? First off, I'm not a ghost, yes I know it sounds crazy. But you've gotta listen to me!

"THE FLOWER POT IS TALKING!" I shifted to another plant, only to see a little girl, pointing a trembling finger at me. I was outside, she was hiding behind a window.

Hey, hey, hey, little girl, don't freak out! Calm down...

There was another piercing scream, I glanced at the door, only to see a nightmare. It kicked down the door and charged at a little boy.

No! I have no idea how, but I was able to take control of the plant, I then chased after the nightmare, squashing it flat with the pot.

Listen up! I know all of you are afraid of the situation right now, heck, you're all probably afraid of this voice you're hearing, I mean no harm! You have to listen to me, your fear, will only enhance the enemy! These negative feelings, fear, anxiety, it's making Pitch stronger. You need to calm down-

"How can we calm down?! Our lives are at stake here, do you expect us to just sit down, smiling?!"

"Dad's dead now, killed by that... Thing! And now it's coming for us!"

"Who are you?! What do you want?! Have you come to kill us too?!"

The waves of protest only increased. No, please, don't misjudge me. I'm here to help, I know it's hard to believe. I know what you've seen is hard for you, you're sad, angry, afraid, but at this time, we have to come together, to face Pitch. Because, if you keep going on like this, he will be more powerful than ever. He feeds on your fear. You have to snap out of it, you wouldn't want more people to die now then, would you?

"But how? How can we do it? What do we have to do? We're just commoners here, facing against an evil psycho with dark magic."

Just listen to my idea-

"The plant's right, or rather, he's right. I won't go down without a fight. We should fight for ourselves, fight for our freedom! We wouldn't want our beloved town destroyed and we just be sitting ducks!"

Finally someone agrees with me! I sighed in relief and tried to shake the person's hand.

"Come on now! Let's show the enemy we're not a bunch of cowards, let him see what Burgess is made of!"

I smiled, looking at everyone one by one, they were motivated, courageous, willing to fight for their rights, willing to save the day. All it took was one person, one person motivates another, then two become four and so on. They were the true heroes. I think I actually shed a tear...

"Aidan, your work here is done..." The Voice Of Nature told me.

The next second, I found myself back with the rest, only to see something to my horror. Jack was forced to be on his knees and Pitch was holding a sword. Two nightmares were pinning Jack down. We were separated from Jack and Pitch, we were in a barrier, most likely created by Pitch to stop us from running away. Elsa was pounding on the barrier, screaming, in tears, begging Pitch not to kill Jack.

I glanced at Cleo who was busy trying to melt the barrier. "Come on, come on, something has to work!"

"... What on earth happened?!" I asked.

"We tried to stall and stall and stall, but Pitch finally decided it's time." Ethan explained, Jamie was hugging him, crying. "Plus, this barrier seems to be immune to any of our powers. North and Bunny can't get their portals of tunnels to work."

"JACK!!!" Jamie screamed, still hugging Ethan, his face buried into Ethan's stomach.

"Shh... It's gonna be all right Jamie, it's gonna be all right..." Ethan comforted him, giving us a concerned look.

"You're horrible at this." Darrel crossed his arms.

"Oh yeah why don't you do it?!" Ethan snapped. "Do I look like some professional babysitter to you? Try to be in Jamie's shoes for once!"

"Cut it out you two!" Astrid said. "You're making the kid feel worse."

"Look, I managed to talk to the town people, they've finally stood up for themselves, even I myself felt the fear vanish from them! We now have a chance-"

"AHHH!" Cleo screamed, falling flat onto the snow. She did it, she managed to melt a hole in the barrier with her fire. The hole was spreading bigger. Thanks to the people of Burgess, fear was vanishing, and so was Pitch's power.

"No time to lose!" I jumped out of the hole and quickly commanded a tree to knock the sword away from Pitch and chase off the nightmares.

"What? How did you-"

"Your fear won't work on this town, not anymore." I cut in as I helped Jack up. I turned to the nightmares. "Don't you dare come anywhere near!"

"Oh yeah now it's on!" Darrel said excitedly. "What's the matter?" He taunted. "Not so powerful anymore? Huh? Huh?! Feel that power vanishing from you?"

Pitch chuckled. "Do you seriously think that my power is only harnessed from Burgess? Please, my nightmares are spreading all over the globe now, and there's no one to stop it."

"That's where you're wrong." I grinned. "You see, my message is also being spread all around the globe, and guess what? People aren't afraid of you."

Pitch looked slightly surprised, but I'm more than convinced that he realised I'm right. Jack gave me a thumbs up.

"Tough talk. I think you're completely missing the point here." Pitch crossed his arms.

"You still have a point?" Jack laughed.

"Shut up Jack." Pitch snapped.

"More like you shut up!" Elsa yelled, blasting ice at Pitch.

Well so much for that... I sighed mentally. I seriously thought we were gonna settle this without a fight.

The nightmares sprung to action again, but it was obvious that they were weaker, we took them out quite easily.

"So what's the plan? How do we defeat him?" I asked.

"Converge." Isabelle replied.

"What?" Tooth asked.

"I second that, what?" Anna asked.

"I heard Manny while you were with Pitch." Isabelle explained.

"Ok, converge, how?" I asked.

"Just... You know, converge!" Isabelle said.

"Like give all our power?" Jack asked.

"Well, you guys better figure it out quick then." Hiccup said. "We'll take care of this."

"No, no, all of us have to be a part of this." Isabelle shook her head.

"How? We don't have any powers!" Merida exclaimed.

"It's something like converging your strengths, with or without magic." Kristoff explained. "Not all the trolls have abilities, but I once saw there were auras all around them and they converged. Convergence through your spirits, if that makes any sense. I can't exactly explain what I saw. It's kinda like giving it your all."

"You mean like when we had the red and black auras put by Pitch?" Elsa asked. "A part of us converged, something like that..."

"Yeah, exactly!" Isabelle nodded.

"Then what? We don't know how to make auras surround us!" Ethan said.

Grand Pabbie stepped up. "Convergence is a strong, joint power of multiple magic users. However, this type of skill is not restricted to just magical beings. A convergence spell requires harmony within the participants. They must also focus on one point to do this."
