Prologue
Clicking my heels along the cold pavement, I continued to stare at the men in front of me, who seemed like they were total thugs. The leather jacket I wore kept my skin intact due to the harsh weather. I cocked my head to the side, noticing that they all wore black clothing, making it seem like they meant to camouflage against the night.
It was about 11:35 pm, and I was at the parking lot, about to beat up some men probably twice my age.
Which, in fact, was only 17 years old.
I glared at them through my striking grey eyes. I made sure that I put back all my stuff in my Lamborghini before I managed to get this over with.
"We've been expecting you for awhile now, Ms. Collins," the man in the middle grumbled. He was the smallest out of the three of them, possibly smaller than my height, which was 6 flat.
"I noticed."
"Wouldn't want things to get dirty, eh? How 'bout we finish this and just leave this place quietly with us," the buff man from the short one's right side suggested.
"How 'bout I'll kick your asses first and then that's when I could leave quietly?" I saw the plump sir from the left gulp, which was already complicated enough due to the unnoticeable neck he had. Oops.
"As if you could," the buffer one grumbled, and I was left to stand there, chuckling at the statement he just said. Due to that action, the two of them glared at me, though I managed to ignore it as I glared at them back, making their look waver. The plump man however, seemed like he wanted to run away.
"Let's try it out then?" I asked, but didn't wait for them to answer. I ran as fast as I could towards the little bastard, pushing him back using my right foot. The heel of my boots must've went straight to his chest, considering I saw him stagger back, leaving him breathless. The other two tried to grab me from my arms but I quickly ducked, pulling their legs back. As soon as they fell, the shortest one was about to stand up, not until I performed a body stand as I used my leg to kick his face, making him fall down yet again.
While the three of them were still down, I grabbed the plump and buff men's arms, forcing them down on the ground. They groaned as I did so, but I wasn't finished just yet. I clanked their heads together and pushed them towards their leader, which was the little one. I assumed they weren't done yet considering one of them tried to trip me, but I merely punctured my heels onto his legs, making him yelp in pain.
"Seriously, who hired you? You haven't even made a single move on me," I mumbled, staring at the three who continuously groaned in pain. I crossed my arms over my chest, feeling disappointed that defeating them wasn't much of a challenge.
"Y-your brother," the plump bloke mumbled, and I laughed as the buff one tried to hit his friend, failing due to his body ache.
"Again? God, Joseph. How long is he going to test my limits?" I rolled my eyes, recalling what he had said before. "Good thing you guys aren't part of the Persecutes."
"Anyway, don't follow me now. I'm pretty sure my brother didn't tell you to stalk me too. I'll be off, then." I walked back to my car, making sure that they weren't following me. I went inside and turned on the ignition, cue the song. As I drove along, I noticed that they continued to lie on the ground, not until I threatened to run them over. I snickered at their reaction, especially when the buffer one almost had his pants pulled down.
I asked Siri to call my brother for me using my Apple watch. I was rushing to go home, I would be 'grounded' if I'm not there by 1 am.
"Hey Danielle," Joseph's bubbly voice emerged. Basing on his tone of voice, it's possible that he was partying at the moment. I rolled my eyes at this thought.
"What the hell were those 3 men about? You even chose the ones that didn't last for 5 minutes. Really?" I questioned, making a left turn in the middle of the intersection. I looked behind me and saw a Range Rover, making me arch my eyebrow up. I hit the pedal harder and drove faster, noticing that the person accelerated faster too.
Huh, so they're still up for a chase?
"I was debating whether I should give you a more professional crew, but then I realized I love my little sister and wouldn't want her to come home all bruised up." He laughed but immediately stopped as he noticed that I wasn't replying. "Danielle? What's wrong?"
"Did you order them to continue stalking me?" I asked, keeping my eyes on the road but looking at the side mirror from time to time. I gripped the steer tightly, narrowing my eyes on the road.
"No, they just called me saying that they're about to get the money from me. Danielle, what's going on?" I didn't reply for a minute, but I noticed that the music blaring through the car's speaker lessened, indicating that he got out of the party's house.
"Nothing. I have to go, bye." I hung up the phone despite his protests, turning the right way, completely turning back from where our house was. I cocked my head to the side and looked straight, indicating that I'm ready for this chase. I might not know the city like the back of my hand yet, but it's better than endangering my family.
I hit the acceleration even harder, hearing the engine do it's revere, making me smirk in satisfaction. The driver continued to chase me, but I wasn't done yet, nor will I ever be. When I finally had enough, it was about 12:45 am. "Shit."
That's when I turned to what I familiarized as a dead end. I waited for whom the driver ever was to come along, and after about 10 seconds, the black Range Rover finally reappeared. That's when I decided to do the trick I haven't done in months. I grinned widely, pushing the car forward in a full blast, then turning all the way round, making the car screech against the force. I hit the pedal even harder now, daring the Range Rover to crash against my Lamborghini.
Seemed like the driver wasn't as courageous as I thought, because it moved back quickly just in time as I accelerated forward. I looked at my side mirror and saw that when he tried to reverse back and catch up to me, a car zoomed past it, making them almost cause a car accident. I turned to the right, going back to the right track on the way back home.
"That was fun." I grinned, tucking my black hair behind my ear. After several minutes, I arrived in front of our house, the butler still standing in front of our driveway. I smiled at him as I climbed down the car, he smiled back despite the tired look on his face. My smile wavered at that, feeling guilty inside. I looked at him sincerely. "I'm sorry, Mr. Russell, I had some errands to do."
"Those errands lasted for quite a while, didn't they?" He questioned, looking at me with a questioning look, but soon had his smile back. I took this as an opportunity to go back inside, while it was still 5 minutes away from the curfew.
I opened the wide door in front of me, peeking in to see the modern mansion my parents owned. I tiptoed, heading straight to the flights of stairs. Just as I was at the last step, I heard a voice boom from the shadows.
"You're late again, Allison," a feminine voice loomed, and as she stepped out of the shadows. My mother had her silk sleeping gown on, her blonde hair that Joseph inherited cascading down. Her mouth was sealed tight, but her eyes showed humor and entertainment. I chuckled at this.
"I'm sorry, mother." She giggled at this and jumped, wrapping her arms around me. I hugged her back, inhaling her favorite vanilla perfume. She patted me on the back then smiled.
"I'm still not used to the fact that you're calling me that. I feel so... So motherly," she said, holding my hands in front of us. She raised it up and kissed our hands that were joined together, and I felt my heart leap inside me. My mother.
"But you already are," I replied. She scoffed.
"I don't count Joseph as a human being, thanks. He may have come out of my womb but that doesn't mean he's my son." We both laughed at this, recalling how we used to tease Joseph, calling him a monkey. It was because of his bubbly and hyperactive personality, that was why. "Kidding, I love the two of you."
She let go of the fact that I arrived late second time in a row. She mentioned that it was better to have my first day in my new school tomorrow to be a blast.
I only lasted two months in my previous school. I hated the people there, and the way they taught their students was even worse. Who lets students have an hour of free time just because her boyfriend broke up with her? How did she even get a degree?
As I fixed the things I needed for tomorrow, I recalled the memories I had when I was little.
The way she combed my hair...
I shook my head, it wasn't the right time to think about that.
Feeling sleepiness drain out my energy, I slumbered into a deep sleep.
