Welcome to our second official contest here on New Adult Reads! We're excited to have you! Come and sit by the fire, sip some hot chocolate, and settle in to read some heart-warming and bone-chilling stories this winter.

If you'd like to enter, we will be accepting your stories beginning December 20, 2021. Please read the Rules and Guidelines before you skip to the prompts!

Rules and Guidelines

1. Stories written based on prompts must be 1500 words or less. Full-length stories must be 60,000 words or less.

2. Contest deadline is 01/10/2022 at 11:59PM CST. Winners will be announced within a week after the contest is over.

3. Only English stories are accepted!

4. The entry can be a new story that is written for this contest specifically or part of a collection of short stories. Please remember that we will not be adding collections to our contest reading list - only individual stories.

5. We will accept mature stories as long as they adhere to Wattpad's Content Guidelines.

6. Only one entry per person. If you are entering a full-length story AND writing for a prompt, you may enter both.

7. Please make sure your story follows the chosen prompt OR your full-length story has a wintery theme (for example, it includes winter activities/sports, it focuses on the season, etc.).

8. You may share your entry for others to see in the comments below.

How to Enter

To enter, click on the link in our bio and then choose the name of this contest. You will need the link to your story, your username, and whether you used a prompt or if it is a full-length story. Based on your answer, you will have a few more questions.

Once you've finished filling out the form, you're done!

Prompts

1. A kick start to the season: It's winter and the first snow has fallen. Is this a good thing? Or a bad thing? Whichever it is, it's sure to be memorable!

2. Shopping spree: You've got your Christmas bonus and it's time to have some fun! At least, that's what you planned, but now things have gotten... out of hand.

3. Snowy date: It's not like you haven't taken someone out before, but you're still nervous. This could be the one. Will everything work out and end up cozy by the fire? Or will everything go wrong?

4. Kiss me: One kiss is all you want from your crush. Just one. You make it your duty to get that kiss whatever it takes. Just how far are you willing to go?

5. Winter invasion: Today was supposed to be fun, but suddenly something has gone wrong - horrifically wrong. What happened to ruin your day and just how bad was it?

Full-length stories will be judged separately, but will receive the same prizes.
